I quite disliked your premise and resolution. The story is quite passable from the viewpoint of grammar, but plot? It needs to be taken out back and shot. World is already full to the brim with people who would bemoan their fate and bend over backwards to enhance the evoked sense of pity - and I simply can`t stand to read another ode to such mindlessness. Have a thumbs down for such an affront to my good mood.
Also, to note... Ponies have no concept of cross as something spiritual. No pony Jesus, remember?
