Prior to the unification of pony-kind, before even the wendigos, the warrior pegasi ruled their domain of the sky, the elite unicorns ruled their realms of magic and the humble earth pony tended the land and provided food for all.
Trapped between two powerful factions, earth ponies needed a way to defend against pegasi and unicorns alike. Thus emerged the first masters of Tei-Rah-Do. These masters fought off those who would dare to bully their people, until the cold came. By the time Chaos ruled, The arts of Tei-Rah-Doh had faded into obscurity.
In Princess Cadences' darkest hour, a practitioner of Tei-Rah-Do emerges to earn his place in this new world with all the chaos and hi-jinx it brings.
NOTE: Change of title because it has a better ring to it.

All masters became folklore heroes at some point. They were the defenders of the peace and thus thought of very highly. The next chapter will most likely be a bit of explanation but I'd rather spread out the lore in bits and pieces.

I'm glad you like it. I currently have a rule for myself where I will only ever write 1,000 - 1,500 words per chapter because I am a busy guy and can only write when I can. Maybe I'll extend that from 1,500 - 2,000 words instead since you are the second person to ask for chapters to be longer. We shall see.

Rock is only a Gary Stu to those who dont like the idea of applying General L Theory to Pinkie Pie and getting She Who Pronks Behind.
He might be the best at what he is, but currently there are many who are better overall, and thats keeping it from going the whole DBZ, currently.

Yeah, there's no Gary Stues here period. One of the absolute unquestionably required traits of a Gary Stu is them winning without any real effort or chance of losing, and even when it appears they've lost it somehow manages to turn out they actually scored a victory anyway. Rocky got where he is through extreme hard work, has inarguably lost fights in this story, and the rest of the cast isn't strangely acting like he's the greatest thing to ever exist. So yeah... It doesn't matter what Pinkie thinks, Rocky doesn't meet a single point on the "Required to be a Gary Stu" list. He's just a powerful, very powerful character, but he's already got his butt handed to him by two characters showing that he isn't all powerful.

A master at peak performance having to deal with the fact that there are forces in this world that make him seem insignificant. That doesn't mean Im not gonna try to close that gap in power levels in meaningful ways. I do plan to explore more about what earth pony magic can do. I also promise not to blow up the moon.
