After hours of careful research keeps leading to dead-ends, Twilight finds she can't sleep. To try and clear her head, she decides to go for a midnight stroll. A chance encounter with a friend helps her realize the answer to her problem... and leads to something she never expected.

I had no idea why I track this, but I'm curious, and I like how you describe things. Might consider adding italic to character's thought like the following:

Sure, she thought, the papers might all be neatly stacked. Sure, each book...

And.

Oh, but maybe I'm reading too much into it, she thought. It certainly wouldn't be the first time. Her smile faltered for just a moment,
