These do just get better and better. Now I'm starting to fantasize how this story will ultimately end and it makes me giddy. Good Work! I'll eagerly await more
What about earthpony magic?

i think this is the prologue on how Earth transformed into Equestria,

You know, thats a pretty good thought! I never even considered it being a pre-Equus world, but at this stage that may be a bit far-fetched but not out of the realm of possibility. From what little ive thought about how this might end, ive come to 3 very basic endings. All of them being very dramatic endings of sorts, but interesting closures nonetheless. but who knows, im for drama and high-intense scenes bc im that type of person so as long as the Characters stay likeable and the combat isnt to over the top then ill be sticking around for sure

I do try to keep my characters somewhat agreeable and my fighting scenes as realistic as I can. If you like the story so far, I think you'll like what I have planned for the end ;)

If that aint reassurance then idk what is! lol, looking forward too it. Kinda getting a Titans Orb vibe for the potential combat and life struggle if nothing else.

welllll we'll see won't we? there was a thought at one point that Equus came around after an Nuclear Apocalypse, and this seems to be going that way,
4 years since the bombs fell. That does explain somewhat of the lack of concern on radiation levela in a major city.

Depending on what you consider canon in terms of earth pony magic, they would be great for helping plant life grow either in these horrid conditions or after the nuclear winter problem is solved
Just now read to the current chapter. Really enjoying this story. Added to my read list.
Tense and heart-hurting conversations. Sparkle learning about Earth's destruction.
And when cooper thought Twilight had died, we got to see a glimpse at how much he really is already attached to her, and maybe not her specifically yet, but just the crave for companionship in a dead world.
That is not a verb. You can cause exasperation, you can exasperate someone, you can be exasperated, you can speak in exasperation, but using the word like that doesn't make sense.

You raise some interesting questions about magic on Earth. Does Earth have its own magic and the matter in this universe just is not attuned to equestrian magic? Or does magic just not exist there and as a result stuff just does not interact with magic very much? Hence the need for Twilight to spend a lot of energy to affect anything other than herself in both cases.
Also how does she "recharge" her magic on Earth? In my head canon ponies take their magical potential from the magic that is all around them in Equestria (I think your other stories worked similar to that?). If this story works the same way, would magic be considered a finite resource, since Twilight can not, or at least only with great difficulty, tap into Earth's magic? Or does her magic regenerate like any other energy reserve in the body, food goes in and energy comes out?
Apologies if this is addressed in later chapters I haven't read yet.

I decided to make magic more like a normal body function in this story. Twilight's magic replenishes over time, but the reason she's been so weak so far is because she's been using her magic constantly to keep herself alive. Between mending wounds and preventing hypothermia, as well as preventing starvation, she's struggling to stay alive until she meets Cooper.
Essentially using her magic is like trying to lift 200 lbs over your head after you've been doing pushups for the last 8 hours straight.

I didn't really consider that she needs to keep warm, but I guess in nuclear winter even with a coat of fur one needs a little boost to keep warm.
But still, if she's exhausted from the magic use, shouldn't spells that affect herself be just as difficult to cast? Twilight did say that affecting anything other than herself is harder work than when she cast a spell on herself. Or is that because the magic comes from inside her it has an easier time to do it's thing on her body?
Best analogy I can think of right now is that it's relatively easy to keep your body at a constant temperature, but trying to use your body heat to warm something (or someone) up does work but not very effectively.

Well she hasn't been using her magic much at this point in the story. She had some warm food with Cooper as well as a heated room to keep warm in the night prior. Her magic has just had time to recoup at this point. That said, she's still really weak due to her injuries as well as malnutrition from weeks of surviving only on magic and a can of soup.
Twilight if you don't drag cooper through the portal with you I'm going to be mad.
Humanity's ability to create is incredible while humanity's ability to destroy is unbelievable. Humanity will always be its own worst enemy.
