Anyway, I'm totally sure everything will be just fine. The only idiot here was Leap, and, well, if there's one thing that was clearly demonstrated, it's that Gerrick can chew a lot.

4: Somehow, for some reason, Mirror decides to save Leap by offing Gerrick when he turns on her. This is the "eh, I suppose it MIGHT happen..." The most unlike!y one.

62: It was all a warped and twisted fantasy Leap was writing for a Creative Writing class that was about to get her expelld and shippedoff to be a REAL maid for a mysterious griffon patron....

There's actually some hints in the fic that Leap has already killed "original" Mirrors several times. It's not explicitly explained really, but the "original" Mirror is just the one Mirror that has the ability to make copies. Copies can't make more copies, but aside from that ability and whatever memories they get after creation they're all completely identical. If the "original" dies then one of the copies inherits the talent at random and then becomes the new "original," and although "originals" to tend to live longer, Gerrick will usually cull them every now and then just so they don't get uppity. A spare Mirror is also kept in the basement just as insurance in case he's feeling particularly horny.

And as far as the duo biting off more than they can chew with their Equestrian tour, I expect some diplomatic immunity, subtlety, and a dash of porn-protagonist plot armor should do the trick—though many Mirrors will probably die along the way.

This was so fantastic. Just long enough to build up the finale, making it all so satisfying in the end. Excellent job.

Gerrick straightened up, Leap’s heart still beating weakly in his mouth and spraying its last reservoirs of blood over its former owner’s corpse. He threw his head back, opening his beak wide, and swallowed it down with a satisfied sigh.
