“It got Lyra, Wallie,” Bonbon sobs. “It got her!”

Lyra? Heck did she have to do to wind up here?

Good story as usual mate.

Ow hell yeah

Never considered the sacrifices from that angle.

prologue to dead by midnight?

It’s actually set after DBS.

Brilliant little spin-off of Dead by Sunset, I really liked this one. A short and gruesome look into the unforgiving realm of the Entity, and a nice characterisation of Wallflower as well.

As cruel as she felt sometimes (the note of a "gutwrenching wave of relief" sums up a lot about her own guilt-tripping and fears of selfishness), you've gotta admit... Wallflower's logic makes a lot of sense here. Sometimes trying to do the right thing ends up in the worst thing happening to everyone, and even if Wally had followed Bon-Bon, they'd probably have all wound up in the same mess anyway. Makes me wonder how often that sort of conflict has happened before, and how the other three would've reacted after the times that Wallflower was right to leave some of them behind. Would they have been forgiving even through their own suffering, or would they have slowly grown to resent her cold logic until they stopped trusting her entirely?

I really like how you've characterised the Entity here as well - that feeling of manipulating, suggesting, prodding and guiding its victims... it gives a feeling of the Entity working towards a higher purpose rather than just being the embodiment of despair that it seems to be in the game. Hell, your depiction of the Entity here has retroactively made me much more intrigued by its presence in DbS as well.

Wait so are you making the sequel soon and are you gonna slowly reveal new killers and characters as time goes by with these one shots?

Also like is this the ghostface or one of the4 that become the legion?

To answer one question: I don’t have any active plans for the sequel, at least not in the immediate future, although I’ve written a few tentative chapters.

I’m not sure if I’m going to do more one-shots. This one was just an off-the-cuff story I did over the space of a few hours because it was in my head.

And yeah, this one is Ghostface.

Neat and tbh it's a interesting take on creating a killer I mean the games lore is just he's a nutjob using his murders to make himself famous as a story writer in paper's but this take shows someone who's pissed and had enough of people disregarding her just for the sake of making themselves look good and only ever seeing her when they want her help and it would be interesting how you work to turn others trapped there into killers plus like you stuck flash Lyra and bonbon in there you gotta at least either turn them into killers or show how or at least reference them getting slapped by sunset for how they treated wallflower to the point she became a killer

So Wallflower is the ghostface, well it suits her though I say wraith suit her even more.

I actually considered making her. A new wraith but reasoned that Ghostface fit her personality much better. Wraith is ultimately a hunter. But Ghostface just sits and watches completely unnoticed the same way that Wallie did.

Mate, how you gonna turn Wally into ghost face. I have so many questions that I hope are gonna be solved in the sequel. Like if wallflower will get saved or how everyone else got there, and who else is in there as well.

Considering Wally’s crippling social anxiety and high-key depression, she’s a prime candidate. But yeah, I’ll go into the truth of the matter in the sequel.

Who better for Ghostface than someone who watches but is never seen?

Exactly. Btw this is giving me motivation to get back into the game. Course it’s been only a couple weeks, but still I miss it.

I gotta admit, in canon I really don't like Wallflower Blush. She found the memory stone, then whenever a social situation got awkward, she'd erase their memories so she wouldn't feel embarassed, then got mad when they didn't remember her. Kinda her own doing there.

This is an interesting portrayal of her, and after seeing clues to her former homelife in Dead by Midnight, I don't blame her for not wanting to be seen. Well done, I liked it!

Interesting, mostly because I really like both Wallflower and origin of evil stories.

I may need to finally read dead by Sunset, at least to see how the story is told.

Also, I think there's some confusion with the characters. When Wally goes for the door, she asks herself if the Trapper had hooked Lyra, but Lyra was already hooked, Bonbon was the one crawling on the floor, and Flash was the one the Trapper was carrying. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

PS: I wasn't aware that the killer could lock the exit, so I was right there with Wally: "that's not fair"

Flashback, at the start of the trial:
Trapper: "Hello friends, this is Otz..."

Blood Warden and Iron Grasp, this was probably a basement Trapper Build. Guessing his other perks were NOED and Monsterus Shrine?
Nice story though. I liked it. Not enough Flashlight clicking and sandbagging from the survivors though, so a little inaccurate. :)

It's a perk in the game. When activated, if a survivor enters the area past the exit gates, the entity will block the terminus for a period of time.
