The Party Pony

A great lover of military strategy, history, Firefly and ponies. Not necessarily in that order.

E

The Crystal War rages on, and Sombra's counter-offensive has left your division stranded. The Siege of Manehattan has caused heavy losses, and even Sergeant Dash injured her wing in an airstrike. Running low on supplies as northern winter descends on the urban battlefield, you'll have to find another way to keep warm...

Ohohohohooohhhoo- this one looks interesting!

Thanks for your submission!

Wow, I never would've thought to use The Crystal War in this contest. I like it.

Thank you! :pinkiehappy: I really wanted to do something unique. This is my first cuddle story and all, so I'm really glad you liked it!

Heh, this was pretty adorable.

Well, I don't think it's something I'd reread, but it's f:yay:cking awesome nonetheless. You did a wonderful job keeping with the whole war thing. I loved cuddling and comforting Dash in this cold story.

A few corrections, if I may:

Sergeant Rainbow Dash been layed up

laid up, you mean

What, the mare that single-handedly defeated

single-hoofedly, or with a single hoof :raritywink:

Again, great story! Definitely adding it to Celestia's bookshelf.

And by the way, it's kinda weird having Dash referred to as "sir." :derpytongue2:

And yet calling Dash "ma'am" doesn't quite work either, does it? :P

I should've remembered the hand/hoof thing. I write so much non-pony stuff, and it's hard to remember what the proper terms are.

In any case, thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it.

We meet again, Party Pony, once more on the field of the Crystal War!

Cut little fic, and I do like that it doesn't go beyond cuddling. Lesser authors resort to that. It reminded me of the Battle of the Bulge in 'Band of Brothers' when the 101st are trying to stay warm.

One nitpick that I picked up from my military friends, though: a corporal is not a 'sir.' He's a non-commissioned officer, and is called by his rank. 'Sir' is for commissioned officers. One of my friends ended up running a few extra miles in full gear during basic because he called his sergeant 'sir.' Good times.

Oh, really? I didn't know that. Thanks for the comment Anti'. :)

I suppose you're right about the whole "ma'am" thing. I myself would probably write "miss," but I suppose that's for the writer to decide. It wasn't distracting while I was reading; I only ever noticed it towards the end.

And you're welcome for leaving a comment. I try to leave feedback on all the stories I read if I can. If you would like to, (please don't feel obligated to) I would never turn down a comment on one of my own works. Have a nice day.
