"What about Fluttershy's brother?" Anon asked, and then briefly chuckled, fully knowing Rainbow's opinion on the matter.
"Please, I want a stallion, not some insecure colt that has to convince himself of his self worth constantly, day after day."
"Well ... Have you ever asked any of the single stallions if they'd want to date you? Sometimes it's a matter of knowing the choice is available. How can they go after somepony if they don't know that pony is even available or interested?"
" ... A-anon! I'm Rainbow Dash! I'm too awesome to do unawesome stuff like that!"
"This is just a thought, but have you considered that your utilization of awesomeness in reference to yourself hasn't maybe created a barrier between you and other ponies? It's one thing to be confident. It's quite another to assault ponies using awesomeness like a shield to bash their faces in."
"Is that why no stallions want to date me?"
"Rainbow, If you look in a mirror, acknowledging all of your flaws and shortcomings," He held his hand up in a stopping hand sign. "And before you try to hide behind your barrier of awesomeness, you do have your flaws. Do you truly love yourself? Because if the answer is no, then I would suggest learning to love yourself, before you can succeed in loving someone else."
I finally found your comment and checked out this story. I love it! This is a unique premise that I haven't seen explored before. I hope you finish writing it some day!
