Firstly, both stories have so few ratings that the public can't actually SEE how many likes and dislikes each story has. Ratings on stories are hidden until they get to a certain number.
Secondly, as for explaining why people hit Like on stories with poor language, I can't tell you. They may also not know the language very well. That would be my best guess.
