This story will be driven by the readers. I don't want to spoiler to much, but you are the settlers and your votes count into the story. Every once in a while I will post a poll from google drive and everyone can vote. This will change the story, but will make writing a bit slower. So please be patient with updates.

I'm from german and even if my english has improved over the years it's far from perfect. So the only correction at the moment is me and google drive. I think google drive does a good job so far but if anyone wants to proofread contact me. I could give you sugestion rights for my google documents.
If your asking about Metal Heart (my other story) I will continue this one eventually, after I have rewritten everything.
I wrote this mostly over the course of multiple days on my phone and PC, at work and home, late at night or close to it. Only my average limited english knowlegde, google tranlater and google docs autocorrection helped creating this mess.
So, if you find any misspelling, keep it out of the comments and send me a PM this is more efficent and keeps the comments clean for the real fun stuff.

Disagree. Given stuff like Manticores and Timberwolves, I'd say that guns ought to be welcomed, as well as being of use in protection against crime. Humans are otherwise defenseless against magic and claws, and there's never a guarantee that a cop or soldier will be close enough to help.
Sigh... at least guns aren't banned inside private homes

Given there is such a small population, it may be necessary to impose govermental control on reproduction. While actual relationships can go and do whatever, actual production of offspring should be regulated to keep a maximum possible amount of genetic diversity.
Nice story. A bit rushed, but overall kind of well written.

Maybe i did a mistake with the overlord reference. Celestia said that humans can have their own goverment, as long as it doesn't harm equestria.
The settlement and its surroundings are like a citystate now. Including the mountains and hills for mining. The 5% taxes are only for downpayment. Like alaska was bought from russian back in 19th century (I think, history wasn't this good in my school. We skipt many things and did even scratcht 1st WW)
I should clear that in 3e, but until then we have 3b to 3d to enjoy.

I really liked the conversation with Celestia and how you explained why Equestria didn't advance much in 1000 years.
I really like this. Also, I would like to know how many actually vote on the polls because this fic really need to get more popular. It's so unique with the polling system and the CYOA-esk feel. I wonder why no one write this type of fic, it's just such a simple but unique idea to incorporate the reader in the story.
One big red flag of confusion sticks out to me, if the portal opened in the Pacific Ocean [key word ocean] then how the heck are they supposed to travel there by train?
When you used the words bridge and deck it sounds like their on boats, not trains.
Also, I think submit is a harsh choice of words. It be almost the same as surrendering.
I think abide would have been a better word to use, other then that, this stories great so far!
Thisvstory is very interesting in the fact the readers can affect the story. That's AWESOM!
