Night Love

Hey!!! I'm new!!

T

Twilight has done a lot for the better of Equestria. And she has done a lot for her nieces and nephews too. Baby sitting, working, loving, cherishing every moment she has with these ponies because it's been her experience that these ponies are gone before she can blink. Twilight lives and loves just like any other pony. And she is responsible for what ponies know as normal now. Not to mention all the technological advancements made by her family. It's been busy, that's for sure.

finaly one that isnt all doom and fucking gloom woe is me bullshit although i hate the whole twilight pushes a change of government angle

8068262 I'm glad you're liking it, and yes. I was tired of the whole "Twilight feels sorry for herself, the world has gone to shit" gimic as well.

Honestly, the government angle I thought was a natural step that both Twilight and Cadence would be willing to take, them being younger and more open to the idea of change unlike Luna and Celestia who are older and more traditional. Seeing as they saw the world grow, adapt, and still they kept everypony dependant on them for rules, regulations, parties, punishments, etc. So I thought it would be good for ponies to grow and be more free to make informed decisions.

Thus, government.

Interesting SOL fic. I adore Auntie Twilight but there are questions I am curious about:

What happened to Shining Armor and did Flurry Heart have family?

8068550 Well, Shining Armour died a few years later after Pinkie, and I am not in a position to say whether or not Flurry has a family yet. I'm glad you like it!

I love how simple the story is, and yet, opens up a million possibilities!!! Can't wait to read more!!

I like this view of Twilight watching over her friends descendants. Looking forward to more.

8068666 I thought it was a nice touch! I really wanted something different, but also would fit Twilight's character perfectly. A new chapter will be coming soon!

No offence but I think that you don't exactly grasp just how much time twenty thousand years is. Entire human civilisation exists for IIRC five and a half thousand of years. Pony civilisation most likely even younger that this. Twenty thousand years... I sure that at his point Twilight memories of her first friends at best a very, very, very vague pieces of random facts.
And strange that at this insane amount of time their civilisation doesn't go thru technological or technomagical singularity.

:moustache: What'd I miss?

:twilightsheepish: 20.000 years

:moustache: I over slept again

:facehoof:

8069200 You've got to remember, this is only the first chapter. I only mentioned what Twilight's family has done for the expansion with technology. I assure you, I am not done yet. There will be much more advances to be looking forward to in coming chapters.

8069202 Ah, I'm glad you've mentioned Spike! He's coming soon!!

8069452 I will not deny, nor confirm anything!

8069462 What else would give Rarity a heart attack?:raritycry: I'm what?:rainbowlaugh:

:twilightoops: Hillbe that's terrible!
:ajbemused: Twilight git me ma rope!

Nice change of pace :pinkiehappy: A happy immortal story:twilightblush:

8069701 Remember, 20,000 years can change a pony. And as stated in the first part of this chapter, Twilight doesn't like to revisit, old and sad memories. She is happy where she is, and I'm sure the first hundred or so years she would have been more than happy to sit and talk to ponies about her emotions and thoughts about how the years have changed and she misses her friends, but she learned to move on and she is happy to just go to parties and babysit her nieces and nephews.

She lives in the moment, telling her past like stories to little eager foals, mainly the more memorable ones. And besides, it's a slice of life, a mainly light hearted one with a little bit of action thrown in for good measure. You aren't going to find much crying and reminiscing from Twilight here. Sorry to disappoint.

8069870 I guess that's my fault for leading you on. But who knows, maybe something will happen in the next chapter to spark your interest! I mean, I'm the one writing it so I know what's going to happen, but I don't know how you'll react! I'm looking forward to it!!

Again, twenty thousand years is an insane amount of time. Unless ponies literally several dozens of time more stupid that humans, at this point of time their technological and social development most likely lead to technology and government forms that utterly unimaginable to us.
At very least they have hundreds of space colonies, achieved immortality for everyone, can create megastructures like stellar engines and so on. But most likely their technology and magic go beyond all of this because I simply cannot imagine of what they capable of after a twenty thousand years of magical and technological advancement.

I think that you need to reduce the amount of time that pass after canon. Five hundred years, maybe a thousand... Twenty thousand a way too many.

8071012 Thanks! I worked hard for this concept to work well.

8070532 I don't mind the time jump, saying as 20,000 years ago in our past we were still in the stone age. I think we progressed at a nice and easy pace since then. Gaining slow advancements in technology as our brains advanced.

But, if it helps, you can subtract a few years if it makes sense to do so for you. But you gotta remember, in the shows cannon all we have for technology are cord phones, vaccumes, movie theatres, and record players.

And honestly, if you don't like that explanation for the "lack of technology" then you can just accept the fact that ponies development for stuff like this is slower than ours.

But you gotta remember, in the shows cannon all we have for technology are cord phones, vaccumes, movie theatres, and record players.

...Wireless mics, modern floodlights and acoustic systems, video games, color movies with sound, railroad and skyscrapers (which suggest a rather ample steel industry), steel suspended bridges (which again suggest a steel industry and a good knowledge of mathematics), more or less modern hospitals, hydroelectric dams, they also know quantum physics... They technology behind ours but not that much. Minus weapons they at least around our thirties and in some cases (like electronics) they even further.

And honestly, if you don't like that explanation for the "lack of technology" then you can just accept the fact that ponies development for stuff like this is slower than ours.

A lot slower. Like I said before - at least several dozens time slower. I don't belive that they that stupid.

Sorry, all this stuff with such a giant time skip and lack of hyperadvanced tech and magic break my SoD like crazy. I pass.
