Blank Slate

I'll expand this later :p

T

A telegram from far-off Neighvada brings excellent news to the Apple siblings: Their parents are coming back to Ponyville for the upcoming Apple Family Reunion. This potentially joyous occasion is marred, however, by the stunning revelation of who their parents really are. Now, Applejack, Apple Bloom, Macintosh, and the rest of the Apple clan struggle to get their family accepted once more by the town they helped create.

I'm liking where this is going...

840013 That's nice to hear. Expect more characterization later on; those two are just so fun to write for!

840055 I said I'd credit you, and I did.

840123 Well, read it, then!

Ooooooohhhh...... I just don't have time right now, but this is going right to the top of my Read Later list, I promise! dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Fluttershy.png

840159 Well, normally, I'd complain, but that Fluttershy emoticon is just too adorable... You may go.

Love it! Love it!
Really well written and original too!

>>>Clementine shrugged sheepishly, pulling his mane from his eyes and glancing from the Apples to the feast and back to Rome. The titanic stallion coughed nervously, pulling his hat a bit lower over his eyes. The awkward moment was compounded further by Clementine’s next words.
“What? Nopony knew?”<<<

WHAT THE EVERLOVING BUCK?!

Error ... thought.exe has failed ... reboot system?

(Good work hiding the fact that Clementine was a guy right up until the end.)

842971 Straight outta nowhere, isn't it? I love the speculation over the Apple parents (Even though Faust says they're dead in canon, despite not being allowed to mention it on the show) and I noticed that no one had yet done what I've done. So, with an epic drumroll, I set to work. Design a motherly figure in male guise without playing heavily on stereotypes. The result is Clementine.

Thanks for the comment on my subterfuge, and the fave as well!

... They're both... But then... And why... Are they... How did... Mac, and AJ... And Bloom... But they were talking about... Their cutie marks like... Blood... OhfortheloveofgodpleasemakethembeadoptedpleasedonotputMPregintothisIfledtheNarutofandombecauseofthatandpleasenoLunachangingeitherofthem'ssexforanight.

That last thing actually happened. In another fiction I've read on this site. ... God, I still feel stupid.

Meinos Kaen

845496 Oh, I am loving peoples' reactions to that! Don't worry, the next chapter covers it. I'll even include a handy list of relations.

No, they have a biological mother. MPreg frankly scares me... No sex changes or anything, either. All will be explained in the next chapter.

Huh. Just when I thought this was gonna be a boring story, the kicker ckmes in. Now I gotta track this.

845609 Heh, that's how I hoped it would work  Thanks, btw.

When I saw Rainbow's question, I sincerely thought it was some sort of joke, and with an audible :facehoof: simply said "Dummkopf!" Then I read the next paragraph and thought: ":twilightoops: WHAT?!? How... scratch that, looks like I'm the idiot here! :twilightblush:"

Great work! Can't wait for the next chapter.

846849 No, amusingly, she's not being silly. "Dummkopf?" You speak German, or are are you quoting Doofenshmirtz?

I appreciate your appreciation, and your faving even more so.

847019 No problem :pinkiehappy: And yes, I speak limited German and intend to continue studying it, due to a mixture of being part German and curious and also simply loving the language.

847305 Wolves in the name... part German... learning to speak German... and into ponies... You remind me to a scary degree of one of my friends :rainbowwild:

847318 :applejackconfused: Now that's some coincidence! On a side note, sounds like an interesting friend! :rainbowlaugh:

847361 Yeah, "coincidental" :trixieshiftright: Don't give specifics, but just answer this: Are your initials H.N.C.? Only way to be sure.

847373 No. Just a coincidence, it seems.

847382 Oh, thank Celestia, I thought she'd found me...

847397 It would appear not.

847406 Ah, then my existence is assured, and this story may continue.

847425 Heh, well that's good. Like I said looking forward to the next chapter! :pinkiehappy:
(You don't have to keep replying, I just hate leaving people unanswered :twilightsheepish:)

847452 But I love to reply! Honestly, comments are my second favourite part of writing, beside the readers themselves. I already have a rough enough frame of the next chapter, which includes more drama, Clementine, and of course Pinkie, who's clearly playing the third fiddle so far.

847466 :rainbowlaugh: This conversation might last a while, then. I can see why, though, got some ideas myself but I have some serious writer's block, too. That and I'm easily distracted :twilightblush: I'm just lurking for now. Good luck on your writing! I'll be taking a look at some of your other fics later!

847493 Well, it'll boost my comments score a bit  Funny thing, I use the name Blank Slate because I developed terminal writer's block. I had so few ideas, my page of ideas was a literal blank slate. And then it all began. Writer's block can actually be used constructively if you let your mind wander.

It's lurkers that make most people's avid readers, so lurk away. And thanks kindly for reading the others!

847507 Once again, no problem! And it was nice chatting with you, keep up the good work!

I can except everything else in this wonderful fic, but what's Big Mac got against Dashie?

854346 Have you noticed how lazy she can be? Compare to Big Mac, the physical embodiment of hard labour. He can't stand shiftless ponies.

well, you asked for a review and here it is.

....umm...wow.

I could imagine this as an episode if it hadn't been for the...em....ending. Tight story telling. Grammar and spelling was poignant and pragmatic. And the thing about Mr. Cake's old war helmet felt kinda like a jab in my direction.

Sorry, anyway, that was...shockingly well executed. Well done.

858016 Thank you kindly for taking up my request!

Wow, really? :pinkiehappy: Yeah, that ending, and quite a bit of the follow-up I have planned, would never make it on The Hub. Don't apologize; you did exactly as I asked you to, minus the rage, which more or less makes the review better. So, thanks again!

858469 Well I only rage on the stories that deserve it. And even then it's to condemn story, not author (or if they're blazing idiots A.K.A FelixDawn).

858485 I imagine, then, that all the recent stories must exhaust your Caps Lock key.

858501 Like you have no idea. But on the upside they make great unwilling dummies to test jokes on.

That right there is making the best out of the worst of situations.

858513 Eeyup. I do the same thing to people who send PMs written in such a way. I'm referred to as "Reichmarschall" for my grammar-Nazi ways, but I get a good laugh, so it's worth it.

866736 Ah, excellent, I thought you had forgotten. I'm glad you like it; the next chapter's around 3/4 done, so expect more soon.

866786 I figure that, since you came up with the title, I'll send the first copy via PM for you. 'Cause I'm jerk to the other readers.

866816 Yakety Sax? Such glory is above my writings.

866843 Best montage is the A-Team. "Grab your guns and cue the music," one man said in describing it.

Poor Big Mac. :rainbowlaugh:

874766 Don't say that yet. He and Rainbow have much more in store in terms of being Butt Monkeys. As far as I know, only Rainbow will get anything close to a redemption, but that's at the end of the finale. But, oh Lord, is it great. :rainbowkiss:

CDR

875331
Whether they are his parents or not. I would not wish such an event on my worst enemy. Maybe if Big Mac was 'gay' as well, (not really a nicer way to say that is there?), it wouldn't bother him so much. But then there's the little thing with children being mortified/traumatised/tortured by having to listen to their parents going at it in that way, (doesn't matter if its male x male, female x female, or male x female, hearing your parents screw would dirty your mind, like swimming through feces would dirty your body. Its just wrong bro, just fucking wrong!).

Heebee Jeebees bro, Heebee Jeebees.

875490 It's fine to say it like that. Oh no, it's way worse for Mac than you'd think. Looking way too far into the joke, we have Rome's physical size, an indicator of his, ahem, "size." Suffice it to say, if he and Clementine get started, Big Mac will never be able to sleep again...:rainbowwild:

CDR

875562
The size difference would have only made the situation worse in my opinion.

875579 Exactly my point. Giant people tend to be loud people, and somepony forty percent larger than Big Mac, who is himself a giant... *shudder*

CDR

875581
Oh wait, now I get it. Your point was that there's going to be something worse ...
*Shudder*
Don't think about it. Don't think about it. Don't think about it. Shit I thought about it. :pinkiecrazy:

875596 Eeyup. Poor, poor Mac...

Finally found the time to read this, and will take a moment to say I was not dissapointed. Once again great work and keep it up!

On a side note, I feel sorry for Big Mac. I shudder to think of what's in store for him...
