Most of my stories will be about my next generation characters on DA! http://scottietail.deviantart.com/art/Ask-The-Next-Generation-of-MLP-438514677

E

Rarity and Spike's son, Quartz Fire is finally marrying his fiancé Princess Eris, the daughter of Celestia and Discord.

This is an MLP Next Generation story. It will probably have a sequel. :P Any character not owned by Hasbro are my own. My deviantART is Scottietail.

Well, I think the two main issues is that there's no plot here, and that you're dropping in a lot of next-gen characters as though we are supposed to know them already. In many cases, I found myself thinking "now, wait--whose son or daughter is that supposed to be?" I couldn't get invested in the wedding of characters I didn't know.

Never put things like "I was just bored" or "I wrote this in half an hour" in the description or the author's notes! Readers want to feel that you did your best, so telling them that isn't going to make them like your story more.

My suggestion would be to keep this, either on or offline, as part of something you'll do later. Also, if you get any negative comments, just leave them where they are. Deleting comments is a big no-no in this community.

I realize this may sound a bit tough, but I mean it constructively. Good luck!

FlashxTwilight sucks donkey balls.

4833483 Thanks for the suggestions. :3 Most of the characters I haven't posted on DA yet but this is kind of for myself to flesh out characters. :P I posted it here for comments like yours.

4835465 Yeah, I see the issue. I think one problem is that stories are looked at as a finished product, so people are going to expect that.

I don't know if there's a next-gen group on here somewhere, but there's a group for everything else, so there probably is. Try joining a few of those and reading some other next-gen stories, brainstorm on those forums. That way you can get input from people who are interested in that kind of material. What you can do with this one (I think, so check) is "unpublish" it, so it stays on the site with the comments intact (I think.) Then you can create a keyword for the "unpublished" view, so that people who are willing to offer an opinion can have access if you give it to them. Anyway, that's what I would suggest.

You also might like to join a few of the Recommended Groups on the front page, like Author Support.

Good luck!
