Being disowned by your family isn't the best feeling in the world. It is a major tragedy nopony should go through. Good thing for Pear Butter Buttercup, comfort is on its way.

Dear Miss Princess Celestia,

I hope you get this letter okay. Not really sure how you get yer mail, but I'm gonna wrap it nice and fancy so they know it's for royalty. Wouldn't want it to get lost.

Ma and Pa said to send you this letter because it's Family Appreciation Day. They said you like to get letters from fillies and colts across Equestria so you can see how happy everypony is. I think that's mighty sweet of you, Princess.

Now, how do I start this thing?

It's been many years since Bright Mac and Pear Butter disappeared. Everyone had assumed they died, lost to Timberwolves on a fateful night. But what if that wasn't the case?

The Battle of Klugetown was a triumph. A huge success. The combined army of ponies, thestrals, and hippogriffs had liberated the slaves and overthrown Verkos' criminal regime with minimal causalities. Applejack's family anxiously awaited her return, with Applebloom eagerly wanting to hear about the epic battle and the countless acts of heroism that her big sister surely must have carried out.

Indeed, Applejack did have much to tell her family. Not only that, she was also bringing two familiar faces back to Sweet Apple Acres.

After Grand Pear disowned her at the wedding, Buttercup began to fear that unconditional love was now limited to her husband. Her worry was only expanding with the addition of expecting her first foal and an Apple Family Reunion coinciding around her due date. But when she received a letter from her long-estranged sister in Manehattan seeking to reconnect, she was surprised when Granny Smith encouraged her to invite Pear Blossom—now Orange Blossom—to the reunion.

That was when Buttercup realized that the Apples were the family that she always wanted... and never quite had.

I had a family. I wanted someone to love. I didn't realize I had to choose.

An honest farmer in love with a mare, who's family is a rival to his. A wannabe sports star with his biggest, and loudest, cheerleader. A coach to a local sports team with a very motherly baker. A Rock Farmer trying to find out if he wants to follow his family's tradition or be something else and an inner city mare forced to go to a small & quiet town. An accountant searching for a new business with a student from Celestia's school for gifted fillies. And a local cloud worker with a silent admirer that wants him to notice her.

This is just the beginning of who they are, the type of shenanigans they get into, and how they became who they are today.
