Twilight is giving a presentation at the Canterlot Magical Conference when a dimensional portal draws her to a parallel dimension full of humans. She decides to seize on the opportunity to write the greatest letter to Celestia ever, by learning all she can about the human dimension while trying to teach them about the magic of friendship. During the information exchange she uncovers the differences between pony and human and how they lost their own elements of harmony. Meanwhile, back in Equestria, Twilight's friends attempt to recover the lost unicorn; but first they need to figure just where she is!

Here are a few things to bear in mind so there's little confusion:
- both scenarios end with the heroic ending, the only difference is Cole doesn't activate the RFI killing himself and "all" conduits
- This follows the MLP theory that the show takes place on a post-apocalyptic earth
- This MLP universe has roughly the same technology we have (I.E. electricity, computers, cell phones, cars, airplanes, helicopters, weaponry, medical technology etc.)
- This takes place in the middle of season 2 of MLP
- let me know if there's anything else you're confused about

Nearly all phenomena in Equestria are explained by "Magic" but what explains magic? This backstory follows the rise and fall of SCIENCE in Equestria and the stories it developed along the way.

Magic is used to describe events; The party was magical, or, I do not understand that, ergo, magic.

My goal in this backstory is to develop a scientific system for discovering the workings of magic. I will pull examples from the show and use them to attempt to prove my theorems from a first-person perspective. There will be failures, successes, explosions and more SCIENCE all along the way.

You would think being born to the most powerful Alicorn in Equestria and being protected by second most powerful Alicorn in Equestria would protect you from the darkness outside the walls of Grand Royal Palace, but this is not so. An old enemy of Princess Celestia and Prince Justice Silverlight returns and tries to steal the Princess’s most precious treasures, her beloved foals.
