You would think being born to the most powerful Alicorn in Equestria and being protected by second most powerful Alicorn in Equestria would protect you from the darkness outside the walls of Grand Royal Palace, but this is not so. An old enemy of Princess Celestia and Prince Justice Silverlight returns and tries to steal the Princess’s most precious treasures, her beloved foals.
3:00 pm in Royal family living room of the Canterlot Royal palace, capital city of Equestria.
It’s a quiet afternoon in the City of Canterlot. After finishing her afternoon court duties, Princess Celestia Silverlight lies on top of a rug in the living room of the Royal Palace. Her golden horseshoes have been replaced with a comfy pair of robin egg blue terry cloth slippers that feel wonderful upon her sore hooves. A cozy, robin egg blue robe wraps around her Alicorn figure while her collar and gold tiara adorn a bust of a unicorn head on a nearby shelf. Celestia lifts her front hoof up and chuckles softly as her light purple eyes shine with pleasure.
She is not alone. In the living room on top of a cozy blanket, in the warm light of her mother’s sun sleeping soundly was her one year old unicorn filly daughter, Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight. Her tiny front hoof is locked firmly in her mouth. As she continues looking around the room, lying on a large rug drawing and coloring with his auntie Princess Luna was her 5 year old unicorn colt and her only son Prince Somnus Silverlight. Celestia should be jealous of the special relationship her son has with her sister, but she’s not, she is overjoyed that her sister found a pony that, most likely, will remain at her side for his entire life and protect her when she needs it.
Sitting in one corner of the room, at a small desk, doing her homework was Celestia’s rather disagreeable 14 years old unicorn, mare, daughter Princess Aurora Silverlight. Since the death of her father Prince Justice Silverlight, the relationship between her and her oldest has become a bit strained. But Princess Celestia refuses to let the rife between her and her oldest daughter get any bigger, because she has a plan for her to be the next sun princess and take over her rule when she’s ready.
A moment later Celestia’s attention is drawn back to Luna who was standing in front of a closet in the room, removing her own robe and slippers. After putting her princess’s belongings back on, she walks over to Somnus and gestures with her head for him to get on her back. A look of delight crosses the little colt’s face as he tries to scramble up onto his laying down alicorn aunt’s back. After two failed attempts, Luna caught the little colt in her wing; using it like a hand she deposits him on her back. She stood back up and walked towards the door, before opening it, she uses her magic to obtain a ball from a nearby toy box.
“Tia, I promise Somnus I would take him to the park to play for a while. so that is what I’m doing.” Luna explains floating the ball to Somnus so he can hold it for her,
“Go ahead Luna, It looks like Blueberry is waking up and I have to feed her. so go ahead take Somnus to the park. Just keep an eyes on him and be back before sunset.” Celestia explains as her eyes widen with alarm as Blueberry gets to her hooves and runs.
“I will, Tia and I’ll keep an eye on my little Somnus, see you later, Tia, we are off to the park to play, say bye to your mother, Somnus.” Luna explains as Somnus waves good bye to his mother as she takes flight.
“Blueberry!” Celestia exclaims as her little filly runs right into a nearby wall and burst into tears as she sits on the ground.
Quickly Celestia stands up and walks over to Blueberry. She uses her magic to lift her filly up into her front hoof and hold her, while she rubs her back with her other hoof.
The touch of her mother’s hoof makes Blueberry stop crying as her tiny horn begins to glow with a dark blue magic aura. A dark blue bubble forms around a pink colored pacifier lying on the blanket she was sleeping on. Blueberry’s first attempt to float the pacifier to herself failed as it bonked the back of her mother’s head. After the pacifier bonks Celestia’s head it ends up right between her four golden horseshoes. Not wanting to give-up on getting her pacifier, this time her bubble forms around her pacifier and all four of her mother’s gold horseshoes. As the pacifier and horseshoes come flying towards Blueberry, a yellow bubble forms around the shoes stopping them from hitting Blueberry and hurting her. Celestia sighs in relief as she gently puts her horseshoes back on the ground. She rubs her snout onto Blueberry’s lighter blue tummy that makes her giggle.
“You are one troublesome little unicorn filly. Miss. Blueberry Swirl Silverlight but you know what, you are my troublesome little unicorn filly and nothing is going to change that, Mama loves her little princess. Yes she does, Yes she does.” Celestia said motherly rubbing her snout again onto Blueberry’s tummy causing her to drop the pacifier out of her mouth. But instead of crying, she looks into her mother’s light purple eyes.
“Mama...mama...mama...mama.” Blueberry repeats in her tiny voice as Celestia’s eyes moist with joy.
“Uh...oh.” Blueberry exclaims in her tiny voice as tears splash on her tiny face from her mother, who has a gleeful smile across her snout.
*Ggggrowl*
“Uh...oh.”Blueberry exclaims again in her tiny voice as Celestia blushes when her stomach growls.
“Uh...oh is right Blueberry, what do you say about a mother and baby snack?” Celestia inquires setting Blueberry back onto the ground as Celestia opens the door into the hallway.
Before Celestia knew what had happened Blueberry runs out of the room as she gives chase. At a flower pot in the hallway, Blueberry stops and looks for her mother behind her. When she doesn’t see her mother, she sits on the ground and begins to cry.
“Stop crying Blueberry, mama is right here.” Celestia said with a soothing voice as she lands and folds her wings on her side.
“You were a scared little filly it’s ok I was scared too. I lost my little princess don’t worry, Blueberry mama will always come to look for her little princess.” Celestia said in a reassuring voice as she floated Blueberry onto her back with her yellow magic aura before continuing on their way to the palace kitchen for a snack.
3:30 pm Canterlot City Park, capital city of Equestria
The Canterlot City Park is a huge green space in the center of Canterlot that breaks-up the hard stone façades of the many buildings surrounding it. Ponies from every level of society can be found walking around enjoying this green public place. The park is kept green by the Canterlot Public Works Department. Somewhere in the park, with two trees side by side with an opening in the middle of them on either end of the clearing was a weary Princess Luna. Even being the younger sister of Celestia didn’t help her to keep up with a five year old colt nephew. Her dark purple pelt was stained with grass along with her silver horseshoes and black collar. Twigs, leaves and small flowers decorate her messy flowing dark blue mane and tail.
“Come on Somnus! Thou will not beat me! I will stop your ball this time!” Luna challenges as Somnus runs at full speed from the opposite side of a clearing kicking the ball in front of him. At the sweet spot, Somnus pulls his front leg back and kicks the ball as hard as he can. The ball screams towards Luna. She dives towards it and the ball passes right under the outstretch Alicorn. It goes between the two trees she was standing in front of, scoring the winning point off his auntie.
As she comes to rest on the ground, Somnus trots over to her and sits down on the soft grass in front of her. His horn begins to glow with a dark blue magic aura as he begins to remove the twigs, leaves and small flowers out of her mane for her. A cheerful expression appears on Luna’s face as she lifts her head up. Before he knew what happened, she seizes him and nuzzles him with her snout for a while. His cheeks were red from the nuzzling as it tickled him when she finished. She stands up and floats her saddlebags back onto her back.
“Somnus, would thou like to stop for some ice cream before we head back home? Auntie’s treat.” Luna inquires as she looks through her saddlebags to make sure she has her money pouch with her, finding it in her left saddlebag,
“Yes, Auntie, yes.” Somnus said excited jumping up and down,
“Shall we go Somnus?” Luna inquires as Somnus remembers his ball that he kicked into the bushes behind Luna,
“Be right back Auntie, don’t want to lose my ball.” Somnus says as Luna watches him run into the bushes to get his ball before they leave the park. A moment later a fearful scream is heard from Somnus. Luna makes a quick turn and runs into the bushes, just in time to see a big earth pony stallion with a sack on his back running towards the exit of the park. Luna gives chase through the park on foot till she remembers she can fly. She leaps into the sky and glides over the head of the earth pony stallion and lands in front of the exit to the park.
The earth pony stallion skids to a stop and does a quick about face towards the other exit. Before he can get anywhere, a blue magic hand grabs onto the back of his sack. A tug of war begins which lasts for quite a while, until there’s a loud rip and the sack tears open, dumping Somnus onto the grass, holding his ball between his front hooves. Luna quickly straddles Somnus to protect him. Not wanting to take on a vexed Alicorn princess protecting a colt, the earth pony stallion decides to cut his losses and run away before the city watch arrives to arrest him for the attempted kidnapping of Equestrian Royalty. With the earth pony well out of view, Luna sighs with relief.
“Somnus, please say something. so I know you are ok.” Luna worried as she nudges Somnus with her hoof a few times trying to get him to answer her,
“Come on Somnus it’s not funny, don’t do this to me, know how much I care about you. Just say Auntie to me Somnus , Please.” Luna getting more worried the longer Somnus doesn’t answer her as she continues to nudge Somnus with her hoof, until.
“Auntie, pleases take me back to mother, I want my mother, I want to go back to mother and home.” Somnus said with fear in his voice as he begins to tremble,
“Yes, Somnus I think that’s a great idea, let’s take you to your mother and I’ll tell her what happened. Come on, get on my back again.” Luna says in a soothing and reassuring voice as Somnus climbs on her back.
She spreads her wings and, once again, takes to the sky. It only takes her a few moments to fly back to the Royal Palace. Once back inside the walls of the Royal Palace, Luna lands and Somnus jumps off her back. He makes a beeline to his mother, Princess Celestia, who is working in her office at this time with Blueberry in her playpen.
“Luna what happened? I have never seen Somnus this scared before? He refuses to let me go. till I reassure him that no pony would snatch him from the palace.” Celestia explains a bit puzzled with what just happened,
“Sister, may we speak outside away from the foals.” Luna asked not wanting to upset Somnus again,
“Sure Luna, let me just check on Blueberry really fast.” Celestia explains quickly checking on Blueberry in the playpen, before following Luna into the hallway outside the office,
“So what happened to Somnus, Luna?” Celestia inquires,
“Some pony tried to pony nap Somnus. After we finished playing in the park, he went to get his ball out of the bushes.” Luna explains lifting her hoof up in front of her,
“What?!” Celestia said her face glazed with shock,
“Who was it?” Celestia inquired,
“I don’t know sister, my main concern was with the safety of Somnus and getting him back from the pony that snatched him, I didn’t ask who he was or why he did it.” Luna explains,
“That’s fine sister, I am just happy you were there when he needed you. Thank you for saving my son.” Celestia said thankfully as she hugs Luna and she returns the hug.
“But still Luna, .this worries me. Was it an isolated incident or is someone trying to pony nap the royal family? if they are trying to pony nap my children. .which one of my babies is next to be taken? What would happen to them if they succeeded?” Celestia struggles to control the quavering in her voice as tears begin forming in her eyes,
“Celestia stop that (pointing her hoof at Celestia) your children need their mother to be strong for them or they will not feel safe anywhere not even here in the palace. You must protect these children of yours. They are the future for both of us and I will not let anything happen to them.” Luna says encouraging as she spotted a light blue eye looking through a crack in the door into the hall.
“Anyway, I think Somnus is still a bit shaken, go hug that colt. The touch of his mother should lessen his fear and reassure him, he is safe in the palace.” Luna suggest as Celestia shakes her head and uses her magic to open the door.
4:00 pm the streets of Canterlot two blocks from Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns.
Walking back to the Canterlot Royal Palace after finding out, she aced several of her magic tests she had to take to move up to the next level of schooling was Celestia’s elder daughter Princess Aurora Silverlight.
‘ Thank mother’s light. if I didn’t ace those magic tests. I couldn’t live down the shame of the failure, being the daughter of the supervisor of the school’ Aurora thought not paying attention to her surroundings.
Suddenly she’s jumped by several earth ponies’ thugs who quickly bind her with a magic rope; a chill runs up Aurora’s spine not knowing what these ponies are going to do to her. Tears begin to well up in her light blue eyes as she’s blindfolded and carried which felt like forever as the memories of her family begin to form in her head.
‘I am so sorry mother for being so cold towards you. It’s been so hard with father’s death. I know you are hurting too and I haven’t helped you at all. .No Aurora, you can’t think like that. You still have time to make-up with your mother, Celestia. but I can’t do that if I am giving-up now.’ Aurora thought determined. Slowly she begins to use her unicorn magic to carefully untie her ropes from around her hoofs. When her legs are free, she quietly gets to her hoofs.
“The Princess is getting away!” an earth pony thug screams as Aurora bowls over any thug blocking her from the door,
Outside the door, the blood drains from Aurora’s face as she finds herself in the maze of a back alley that crisscrosses Canterlot in every direction. She quickly picks a direction and runs down it with the thugs in hot pursuit of her. Along the way Aurora calls for help and knocks over barrels and boxes in an attempt to slow them down. The thug’s chase her at the same time dodging the doors that suddenly open and close in front of her from both sides of the alley. Aurora’s face brightens upon seeing an exit from the back alleys onto the main streets of Canterlot. Her face changes from joy to fear as a small group of thugs block her way out.
Suddenly her horn glows in a dark blue aura. She disappears and reappears behind the thugs on the main street. Without a second thought, she figures out where she is and turns in the direction of the royal palace. Walking out of the palace kitchen, floating a hot teapot in her yellow bubble was Princess Celestia. Aurora busts through the main doors into the palace and runs into her mother knocking her on her back as she catches the hot teapot in her bubble again. With a sigh of relief, Celestia sets the hot teapot on a nearby table and gets back to her hooves. Celestia looks at her daughter. She can swear that she can see her daughter’s heart pounding out of her chest.
“Aurora dear, what is wrong? You are shaking like a leaf?” Celestia inquires concerned for her daughter’s well being,
“Did something happen to you, Aurora? Please, baby, tells me what happened.” Celestia said running her hoof through Aurora’s mane tenderly and lovingly,
“Mommy, they tried to pony nap me. why would someone try to take me?” Aurora said with fear in her voice as tears begin forming in her blue eyes, she wraps her shaking front hoofs around her mother to be reassured of her being safe back in the hoofs of her mother,
“They tried to do what?!” Celestia exclaimed as she swallowed a lump in her throat, soon her fear bubbled-up once again.
The memory is still fresh in this Alicorn mind of her son almost being snatched out of the park by some pony.
“Baby please calm yourself, as long as you are here in the palace. I promise no pony will ever take you away from me, they will have to kill me before I’ll let them take you from me.” Celestia said very confident as Aurora’s eyes widen with alarm,
“Mommy no. don’t give up your life for me. if they come for me I will go willingly, papa is gone. I do not want to lose you too mama.” Aurora said as she dissolves into tears wrapping her front hoofs tightly around her mother,
“It’s ok baby. I will not leave you for a very very long time. Besides, I want to see my great, great, grandchildren take over from their own mother and see how Equestria will change under their rule. It would be the greatest gift that this long living alicorn could achieve a dynasty of good hearted Equestrian Royalty. who cares about the ponies they rule.” Celestia comments,
9:30 pm the evening of that same day, the Royal Nursery, Canterlot Royal Palace, Royal Ward, City of Canterlot ,Capital city of Equestria.
Sleeping soundly in her crib with the moonlight from her aunt’s moon was Princess Blueberry. After a full day of playing, the worn-out unicorn filly was placed in her bed by her mother Princess Celestia to sleep through the night. Quietly the window looking out onto the royal garden opens and in enters a pony dressed from head to hoof in black. The pony carefully wraps the unicorn filly in her own blanket and lifts her out of her crib, before exiting the same way it came in.
A few moments later, the door to the royal nursery was opened by Celestia who’s horn glowed with a very soft light. She quietly tip toes over to the crib making sure not to wake her baby up. She shines her light into the crib; the blood drained from her face when Blueberry was nowhere to be found. A cold breeze blows through the open window of the royal nursery, without a second thought, Celestia leaps through the window into the royal garden. From the upmost balcony of the palace Princess Luna spots a light moving chaotically in the darkness below. Fearing it was some pony trying to, once again, snatch Somnus, Luna leaps off her balcony and glides down into the darkness below.
“Halt!” Luna yells her voice booms as her own light illuminates the figure moving chaotically about the darkness.
“Celestia, what are you doing out here at this time?” Luna inquiries as her light fell on the wild-eyed Celestia feverishly searching every nook and cranny of the royal garden with the light from her horn.
“She’s gone!” Celestia yells in shocked panic that catches Luna completely by surprise. After recovering her hearing, Luna grabs hold of the panicked Celestia with her blue magic aura and lifts her off her hooves and turns her around towards her.
“Celestia? Who is gone?” Luna inquiries a bit puzzled
“Blueberry!” Celestia screams with fear in her voice as a sudden spurt of adrenaline courses through Luna’s body. She drops Celestia and makes a beeline towards the window of the royal nursery.
In the royal nursery, Luna’s heart drops seeing the unoccupied crib of her niece Blueberry. A feeling of a cold fist closes over her heart.
“No...no...the most innocent of pony has been taken from the hoofs of her loving mother this isn’t right.” Luna said heartbroken as she floats the framed photo taken at Canterlot City hospital after the birth of her second niece Blueberry Swirl Silverlight, when Celestia allowed Luna to be the first to hold the newborn unicorn filly in her hoofs.
‘I feel all the bad things that happened to me through the years melt away instantly when I picked up Celestia’s newborn unicorn filly and she cooed at me. As I look at the newborn filly’s cute little face, fear didn’t look back at me. What looked back was curiosity. I wanted to learn who this alicorn mare that held her in her hoofs was something this alicorn mare would be more than happy to teach’ Luna thought setting the framed photo back on the shelf in the nursery.
“Who would take an innocent pony from her family? Only a pony with no heart would?” Luna said fiercely
9:00 pm, guest cottage on the grounds of Night Rose Stable, Noble Ward, City of Canterlot, Capital City of Equestria.
The guest cottage of the Night Rose Stable is a single story Ponyville designed summer cottage located on the grounds of the Night Rose Estate. The cottage has two bedrooms, living room and kitchen together with a single private entrance on to the grounds. Pacing back and forth in the living room was an older light blue unicorn mare with a black mane and tail, streaked with gray hair. A pair of black rim glasses adorns her face; with a white diamond cutie mark on her flank. This old unicorn mare was Gem Cutter Night, an old foe of both Princess Celestia and Prince Justice Silverlight.
Many years earlier, Gem Cutter ran a very successful jewelry making business in the Noble Ward of Canterlot selling her gem creations to the elite of the elite in Canterlot. Even Princess Celestia owned several of her beautiful gem designs. With success came resentment from the other jewelry maker in Canterlot. A vile rumor spread through her elite customer’s base that she was using poor quality gems to make her gem creations and sell them at exalted prices. To nip this rumor in the bud, Princess Celestia quickly dispatches her most trusted and honest royal investigator Justice Silverlight to investigate the rumors and put them down. After several months of diligent investigating, Justice concluded that every single rumor was not true. But the damage was done, Gem Cutter’s business collapsed around her. Unable to recover, she blamed both Justice and Celestia for her business collapsing and left Canterlot in disgrace never to be heard from again.
Some years later, a rash of kidnappings started in Ponyville involving four of the main six, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack. Family members or friend were pony napped forcing them to pay for their safe return. At that time the friendship between Celestia and Justice became strained when fake rumors of him betraying Celestia landed Justice in the palace dungeon for a month by Celestia’s own hoof. After being cleared, Justice never again spoke to Celestia, till the discovery that Gem Cutter was the pony behind the crime. The two friends reconciled their differences and once again became an unstoppable team and put an end to Gem Cutter’s crime.
“Twice those two ponies stopped me, but with the death of the Royal investigator Justice Silverlight or should I say, Prince Justice Silverlight husband of Princess Celestia Silverlight. I can finally have my vengeance. It’s too bad that Justice will not suffer like that Princess but I must thank him, he left his wife with three perfect gem stones for the taking.” Gem Cutter said coldly floating three perfect gemstones in the air with a white and pink tinted magic aura.
“First, that green emerald her son Prince Somnus Silverlight, If not for that interfering Princess Luna this gem would be in my hoofs. but she saved him from my pony.” Gem Cutter said sourly placing the emerald back into the jewelry box in front of her.
“Second, that blue garnet, her oldest daughter Princess Aurora Silverlight. if not for those unruly thugs that I had to hire to pony nap her and letting her escape, that gem would be in my hoofs.” Gem Cutter said hotly placing the blue garnet back into the jewelry box in front of her.
“But I have the most precious of all gemstones. The deep crimson red ruby, her little princess, Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight. How much I would relish watching that all powerful Alicorn princess break down knowing she will never see her precious little filly again. As she breaks down so does her land.” Gem cutter said wickedly closing the Jewel box and placing the ruby on top of it.
A moment later, the pony, dressed from head to hoof in black arrive carrying Celestia’s baby unicorn filly in her pink blanket. He reaches up and rips the hood off revealing a russet brown earth pony with a black mane and tail. He stares at Gem Cutter with his eyes seething and guilt-ridden look.
“Here’s the little Princess! Now pay me Gem Cutter for the job! I have hit a new low! even for me! Pony napping a mother’s baby filly from its own nursery!” The earth pony stallion said indignantly snatching the bag of gems out of the air and forcefully kicks the door open to leave. Outside the cottage, the earth pony spots a nearby barrel and tosses the bag into it. When the earth pony is out of sight, the bag of gems float out of the barrel and back inside the cottage to its rightful owner.
While after midnight, two trains arrive at the same time at the Canterlot train station. The first train belongs to the Crystal Empire and the second train belongs to Ponyville. On the main platform of the station the two Alicorns meet, forgoing their normal greeting. With the hug done, the two Alicorns run out of the station down the quiet and well lit streets of Canterlot to the Royal palace.
Back at the palace on her balcony, a heartbroken Princess Luna lays. Normally she enjoys all the work she puts into painting her night sky, but this night her heart is no longer into painting it. The pony napping of Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight has left an empty spot in her heart that will not be filled till the unicorn filly is returned unhurt to her mother’s hoofs.
“Auntie! auntie are you up here?” A small voice calls; having trouble climbing up to the last step was Somnus wearing his favorite pajamas floating a blanket and a Luna plush toy with him. Luna stands-up and walks over to the staircase. She uses her magic to lift Somnus onto her balcony.
“Somnus what are you doing up at this time? You know small colts should be in bed.” Luna comments as she secretly is happy to have some company up on her balcony so she is not alone.
“I am sorry, Auntie. I can’t sleep, when is my little sister coming home? When mommy is sad her singing is so sad.” Somnus comments as Luna gasps returning to her place lying on the balcony. Soon the little colt snuggles up in between her front legs and Luna begins to sing a lullaby to him. As she reaches the last verse of the lullaby, she looks down at Somnus, who’s fast asleep in between her legs.
“Hopefully your little sister will be home soon and your mother will be back to being happy again, my little Somnus.” Luna said softly as she uses her magic to wrap Somnus up with his blanket so he will not be lying on the cool stone of her balcony. A moment later Luna kisses Somnus softly on the top of his horn.
“Sweet dreams, my little Somnus. Your dark angel will watch you.” Luna said softly and lovingly causing a shooting star to fall from the night sky with her magic.
In the foyer of the Royal palace, Princess Aurora Silverlight waits for the arrival of Princess Twilight Sparkle and her Cousin Princess Cadence. The front doors of the palace open and the two princesses enter. Earlier, after learning that her baby sister Blueberry was pony napped, Aurora sent letters to both Twilight and Cadence asking them to come to Canterlot as soon as they can.
“Cousin, why did you ask me to come?” Cadence looks at Aurora,
“I need your help cousin Cadence. I know how to use the spell to raise mother’s sun, but since I am not designated a Princess of Equestria. I can’t rule in mother’s place and Luna sleeps during that time.” Aurora explains as Cadence and Twilight blink with surprise.
“Rule in the place of the Princess? What happened to the Princess?” Twilight inquires looking puzzled,
“Earlier this evening Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight was pony napped from her crib in the royal nursery and it was a devastating blow to mother. As of right now, she is unfit to rule Equestria till her baby is returned.” Aurora explains as the two princess’s chests become heavy.
“I see Cousin Aurora, it will be my honor to rule for Celestia, till she’s able to return as the rightful ruler of Equestria.” Cadence comments as Aurora walks up to Cadence and hugs her,
“What about me, Aurora?” Twilight inquires,
“I still have several magic tests to take before my final class placement in mother’s school for Gifted Unicorns as I said Luna will be sleeping during that time. so I need some pony to keep an eye on both mother and Prince Somnus while I am taking my placement tests at the school.” Aurora explains as Twilight hears snickers coming from Cadence standing next to her.
“What’s so funny sister-in-law?” Twilight inquires bitterly,
“Oh nothing, sister-in-law. I would just like to remind you there’s more to being a good foal-sitter than just watching a foal. it’s a lot harder than I make it look, when I was foal-sitting you Twilight.” Cadence comments as she walks toward the guest bed chambers to get some rest for tomorrow.
9:00 am, the following morning, Celestia’s bed chamber, Private living area Canterlot Royal Palace, Royal Ward, City of Canterlot
Lying in bed with dark shadows around her eyes was Celestia. She so much wanted the whole incident to be nothing but a cruel joke played on her by some pony. Any minute now her precious little filly will be returned to her none the worse for wear. But when it doesn’t, her eyes mist over and once again she begins to cry. A moment later the door to Celestia’s bed chamber is opened by her oldest daughter princess Aurora.
Since the pony napping of her baby sister Blueberry, Aurora has taken on more responsibility of the designated Princess of Equestria with the blessings of her Auntie Princess Luna, her cousin Princess Cadence and family friend Princess Twilight Sparkle.
“Mommy, please come back to us, we need our mother, we need our Princess, there’s only so much I can do with only the name Princess of Equestria.” Aurora explains as she kisses her mother on the cheek before turning and walking out of the bed chamber to head to school before she’s late.
As the bed chamber door closes slowly, Celestia rolls out of her bed and walks over to the fireplace in the center wall of her chamber. She sits down in front of it and looks up at a painting she had made of her and her husband standing beside this very fireplace it hangs above.
‘I am not much of a mother, wife or Princess,I am sorry my beloved. With you gone, I have lost that confidence that I had when you were alive, you always encouraged me to trust my own judgment and supported my decision no matter how bad it was. Now some pony has pony napped our precious baby filly and I don’t know what to do. If I ever needed your guidance my beloved now is the time.’ Celestia thought as the sound of laughter attracts her attention to her balcony. She walks out onto it, which overlooks the royal garden.
Below in the royal garden playing in a small patch of grass surround by bushes was Somnus. His foal sitter was Princess Twilight Sparkle the newest princess and Celestia’s ex-faithful student. Twilight looks right at home taking care of Celestia’s little son. Until she accidentally kicks the ball too hard and it rolled into the bushes behind him. Somnus’s knees begin to quake as he looks at the bushes where his ball went.
Twilight walks up behind Somnus and begins to talk to him. Wanting to know what Twilight was telling Somnus, Celestia quietly glides down to the royal garden and hides in the bushes to listen.
“Your sister told me what happened in the park yesterday no one is going to snatch you from the palace garden while I am watching you, Prince.” Twilight said confidently as Somnus stays behind Twilight’s front legs,
“The palace is not safe Twilight they’re going to get me. No pony can keep me from being snatched again .not even my mommy.” Somnus’s voice breaks as Celestia’s ears drop upon hearing that her son doesn’t feel safe at the palace,
‘What have I done? I did just what Luna told me not to do I made the Canterlot Royal Palace feel unsafe for my precious children a mother is not suppose to make her home feel unsafe to her children her home should be the safest it can be, a place where her children can feel her love and protection all year long. Celestia you foolish pony. You lost sight of what was important to you, your children.’ Celestia thought as she skirted along the outside of the royal garden till she reached the bush that Somnus’s ball rolled into, a moment later the bushes begin to rustle as Somnus’ eyes widen in alarm.
“Mommy!” Somnus exclaims excited as his mother walks out of the bushes floating his ball with her. The little colt runs up to her and stops in front of her as she rubs her cheek against his side.
“I am sorry Somnus. Mommy was not herself. .But I am better now remember this, I am your mother and a very protective Alicorn these walls around you will protect you and I will protect you. no one is ever going to snatch you again from me that I promise. My dear little Somnus.” Celestia said comforting as she kisses Somnus on his cheek.
12:00pm: the afternoon of that same day, Family room, Private living area, Canterlot Royal Palace, Royal ward, City of Canterlot.
After shortening the normal Royal court session for today, Princess Celestia Silverlight waits in the family room of the Royal palace along with Somnus and Aurora. Earlier before, beginning the business of the royal court, she dispatches a royal messenger to the Silverlight stable with a letter addressed to her husband’s two sisters to come to the Palace as soon as they can. Ever since the pony napping of Celestia’s little princess, someone from the royal family has stayed in contact with the Canterlot investigating team looking into the pony napping. That some pony was Princess Aurora Silverlight. But unfortunately for Aurora, the results from this new Canterlot investigating team have been less than ideal.
“Mother!!!!!” Aurora said in a huff,
“When father was the head of the Canterlot investigating division the first thing he did was to investigate a crime scene for clues. I was just told they just got to it what took so long!?” Aurora said hotly,
“Aurora, please calm yourself dear, your father was the best royal investigator I had since he became the prince of Equestria and his sudden death, there has never been another royal investigator like your father to come through Canterlot.” Celestia explains with a calm voice,
“But you know as well as I, mother, what happens.” Aurora was cut short as Celestia places her hoof onto Aurora’s lips,
“Somnus, would you be a dear and go see if your Aunt Serena and Aunt Seer have arrived at the palace and bring them here?” Celestia asked kindly as Somnus gets to his hooves and runs out of the family room to see if his Aunts have arrived. When he leaves Celestia removes her hoof from Aurora’s lips,
“I do, Aurora, the longer it takes to figure out who has my baby. The less likely we will find her alive; (a thought I wish not to have) pure Alicorn mare like me and Luna can only get pregnant once in a lifetime, because of our immortality. So I was overjoyed when fate smiled down on me and allowed me to get pregnant three times. Each of my beloved foals was a special gift to me.” Celestia explains as she hugs her oldest daughter,
“That’s why I asked your Aunts to come to the palace. What made your father the best Royal investigator in Canterlot working together with his two sisters? The sisters each have special talents, that in cooperation with each other made a powerful team. So I am hoping that your aunts can do the same job without your father.” Celestia voice constricted.
In the foyer of the royal palace the little colt waits for the arrival of his two aunts. Soon the front door opens and in enters two unicorn mares and an older alicorn mare. The two unicorn mares were dark blue in color with a crimson red mane and tail. While the older alicorn mare was a lighter blue in color with a crimson red mane and tail. This older alicorn mare was Baroness Shimmering Diamond Silverlight, Prince Justice Silverlight’s own mother. After the death of her son, Shimmering Diamond took over the duties of the head of the Silverlight family along with Princess Celestia.
“Grandma!” Somnus exclaims excitedly running up to Shimmering Diamond and jumps towards her, a moment later Somnus is caught in mid-air by a turquoise magic bubble.
“Now Somnus what has grandma told you about jumping at her?” Shimmering Diamond said in calming but soft voice and reminding, as Somnus floats in front of her.
“I am half Alicorn and half unicorn, so I am stronger than a normal unicorn colt and should be careful.” Somnus answered as Shimmering Diamond set him on the ground, before picking him up in her hooves and hugging and kissing him.
“Now go say hi to your aunt, Somnus.” Shimmering Diamond said kindly as she places him back on the ground, so he can greet his two Aunts.
“Hello Aunt Serena.” Somnus politely says as he hugs her,
“Hello Aunt Seer.” Somnus again says politely as he hugs her, a moment later she gives him a sloppy kiss on his cheek,
“Auntie?” Somnus replies wiping the very sloppy kiss off of his cheek with his hoof as Seer chuckles.
“There is no doubt that you are my brother’s son, Little Somnus.” Seer comments as she touches him with her hoof,
Suddenly Seer is pulled into one of Somnus’s memories. She finds herself in the Canterlot City Park looking through Somnus’s own eyes. Ahead of him was a grass stained Princess Luna. The scene changes, Somnus is now standing in front of some bushes. He runs into the bushes to get the ball. As he reaches for his ball, he catches a glimpse of what looks like a burglar mask cutie mark, before everything goes black.
“Seer!” A female voice calls to her as Seer’s eyes return to normal. She quickly looks around and finds herself back in the palace.
“Serena, a burglar mask cutie mark.” Seer called as Serena thought for a while. She picks Somnus up into her hoofs and hugs him tightly.
“Did something happen to you Somnus in the Canterlot City Park?” Seer inquires with a soothing voice,
“Yes auntie, while I was playing with Auntie Luna in the park, my ball rolled into the bushes. When I went to get it, I was stuffed into a bag. I was so scared that I froze holding my ball in my hoofs. If not for Auntie Luna I wouldn’t see mommy again.” Somnus fearful as Seer strokes his mane with her hoof,
“A good thing your Auntie Luna was with you when they pony napped you. If there’s one thing I know about that Princess of the Night, she will not let anything happen to her little Somnus or any of Celestia’s children. She is just as protective as your mother is.” Seer comments as a familiar dark blue alicorn mare arrive to collect Somnus with a shy smile on her snout,
“Celestia and Aurora, are waiting for you three in the family room. I’ll take care of my little Somnus. while you three talk. What you three are going to talk about shouldn’t be said about in front of the little colt.” Luna said as Seer, Serena and Shimmering Diamond bow and continued on their way to the family room.
3:00 pm that same day, abruptly put together nursery, Night Rose stable main house, noble ward, city of Canterlot, Capital City of Equestria.
In the nursery the one year old Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight sits on the ground. Using her unicorn magic to flip the pages of a picture book with the different pony species in Equestria. Nearby, straightening a few things out using her magic was a light blue unicorn mare with a midnight black mane and tail; a black rose cutie mark was on her flank. Blueberry flips a page in the picture book and stops. On that page was a unicorn pony using his magic to move a small stone.
“Papa...papa...papa!” Blueberry exclaimed excitedly as the unicorn mare walks over to her and looks at the picture her tiny hoof was on top of,
“Yes, Sunflower, that is a unicorn pony, just like you.” The unicorn mare says kindly,
“Mama...wings...mama...wings...mama...wings.” Blueberry exclaimed excitedly keeping her tiny hoof on top of the picture of the unicorn,
“Your real mother had wings?” The unicorn mare seems puzzled,
“Was your real mother this type of pony, Sunflower?” The unicorn mare comments pointing at the picture of Pegasus standing on a cloud,
“No!” Blueberry said in a huff as she keeps tapping her tiny hoof on top of the unicorn picture,
“A winged unicorn?” the unicorn mare says still puzzled,
‘Could the winged unicorn, be an alicorn. if this unicorn filly’s real mother is an alicorn. why would she leave her baby on the doorstep of some pony’s home? Surely she has the means to take care of her own baby.’ The unicorn mare thought looking intensely at the unicorn filly in front of her,
She flips to the last two pages of the pictures book. On the last two pages were four pictures of Alicorns. On the first page was a pale light grayish cerise Alicorn, next to that Alicorn was a purple alicorn. On the second page of the book was a dark blue Alicorn. Next to that Alicorn was a pale pink Alicorn.
“Sunflower is your real mother this type of pony?” Unicorn mare’s voice edged with tension as Blueberry looks at the last two pages of the book with the Alicorns on it. She scans the symbols above each of the pictures of Alicorns. Then she spots her mother’s sun symbol above the pale pink Alicorn on the second page of the book,
“Mama...mama...wings!” Blueberry exclaims happily placing her tiny hoof on top of the picture of the pale pink Alicorn.
“Your real mother is!?” The unicorn mare exclaimed blinking with surprise,
“Princess Celestia Silverlight! then that means your real name is Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight the third heir to the sun throne of Equestria Sister, what have you done to our family name, pony napping the Sun Princess’s own filly. I knew better than to allow that crime ridden pony back into my stable after she almost killed the Princess when Prince Justice was still alive. .Black Rose you are a fool.” Black Rose’s tone of voice degenerates to a guttural rasp, she storm out of the nursery in search of her sister, Gem Cutter.
“Bye...bye...bye.” Blueberry said waving her tiny hoof at Black Rose,
3:10 pm that same day, Royal nursery, Canterlot Royal Palace, Royal ward, City of Canterlot, Capital City of Equestria
In the royal nursery after the Canterlot investigating team leaves the royal palace, Shimmering Diamond and Seer search the inside of the royal nursery for clues that team might have missed or overlooked. Meanwhile Serena searches around outside of the royal nursery in the royal garden for clues. All around the clear entrance point were numerous hoof prints in the dirt.
“Mother, where’s the princess?” Serena calls as Shimmering Diamond sticks her head out of the window,
“She is waiting in the hallway outside the royal nursery.” Shimmering Diamond explains as Serena heads back into the palace. A moment later Serena finds Celestia and Aurora waiting very patiently in the hallway for any news from her husband’s family. Serena walks up to Celestia.
“Your highness, may I ask you a question?” Serena inquires,
“Huh? Oh sure, Serena, what?” Celestia replies,
“The night that you discovered Blueberry was pony napped, were you wearing your horseshoes?” Serena inquires as Celestia reels with astonishment at the question,
“Please Serena; don’t ask any strange questions like that. I am very worried that I will not see my baby alive again. So please Serena keep your questions to trying to find out who took my baby and not what I was wearing that night.” Celestia’s voice was a lifeless monotone as a tear ran down her cheek,
“Celestia, I can see that you are very worried about the fate of your precious little filly. We are too.” Serena said with sympathy in her voice. This caused Celestia to see even without her husband alive, these ponies will not stop until they find Blueberry alive and well.
“Thank you Serena, I was worried that without Justice, you and your sister couldn’t find Blueberry. But now I know you will find her for me. I will be happy to help you in any way.” Celestia said reassured as Serena smiles,
“To answer your question no I didn’t have my horseshoes on when I discovered that Blueberry was pony napped. After I checked on Blueberry, I was going to retire to my bed. Luna would start her night watch and check on Blueberry throughout the night while I slept, till morning.” Celestia explains as Serena listens,
“Is there anything more you would like to ask me, Serena?” Celestia inquiries,
“Yes, your Highness .if you could, would you remove your horseshoe and show me your hoof?” Serena asked as Celestia’s face glazes with shock. There’s a soft click from the golden horseshoe as she slides her hoof out of her shoe and held it up so Serena can have a look at it,
‘I know this is a waste of time, .looking for soil evidence on Celestia’s hoofs after about a week, because she bathes regularly and would wash away any evidence that she would have on her hoof. But maybe it’s not a total loss. Let me ask mother to scan Celestia’s hoof and make a life size model of her hoof with her magic. .Well, at lease I could use the model to figure out who’s hoof prints belong to which pony’ Serena thought looking at Celestia’s hoof,
“Your Ladyship! Could you help me with something?” Serena calls as Shimmering Diamond walks out of the royal nursery and joins her daughter in the hallway with Celestia and Aurora,
“Sure dear, what?” Shimmering Diamond inquiries,
“Mother could you, scan Celestia’s hoof for me with your magic and make a life-size model of it. I found numerous hoof prints outside the window. But it took so long for the Canterlot investigating team to get to investigate the crime-scene that herds of ponies from the royal staff destroyed the evidence. If I have a model of Celestia’s hoof I might be able to figure out who’s hoof prints are who’s.” Serena explains as Shimmering Diamond shook her head,
“Wait, before you start, you should also scan Luna’s hoof, she was the first one I told when I found Blueberry missing she was wearing her horseshoes at the time as she does for her night watch.” Celestia explains as Shimmering Diamond looks towards Aurora who knows what her grandmother was asking her to do,
“I’ll go get her grandmother and stay with Somnus until she returns.” Aurora said running off to find Luna. An hour later, Princess Luna arrives.
“Hello sister and Greetings your ladyship and Serena Aurora asked me to come to the royal nursery. but she didn’t tell me why?” Luna friendly says as she sits down next to Celestia,
“I have a few questions to ask you about the night of the pony napping, Luna.” Serena said as Luna shook her head,
“Celestia stated that you were the first one she told when she discovered that Blueberry was missing, is this right, your highness?” Serena inquiries as Shimmering Diamond sets to work scanning Celestia’s hoof to make a life-sized magical model of it for her daughter,
“Yes, that’s right. I was up on my balcony all night. I just happened to look down in the royal garden and noticed a chaotic light moving about the darkness. Fearing that they were trying once again to pony nap Somnus from the royal palace, of all places .I flew down to confront the pony. To my surprise, my light fell onto Celestia, who was wearing her evening robe that she normally wears when she’s ready for bed. I asked her what she was doing in the garden at that time. That’s when she told me that some pony was gone.” Luna paused to catch her breath,
“I asked her who was gone she said “Blueberry.” my heart dropped when she said that. So I went to look for myself. When I arrived at the opened window of the nursery, I leaped inside and looked in the crib. As Celestia said Blueberry was gone! I stayed in the nursery for some time, trying to cope with the snatching of such an innocent little pony like Blueberry. I don’t let to many ponies see this side of the Princess of the Night, the side that makes me look weak. but I do care for my nieces and nephew those three ponies have brought something that has been missing from my life an understanding that I will never become that dark mare again.” Luna says filled with emotion as Celestia hugs her. A tear runs down her cheek.
“Auntie!” Somnus calls as Luna hears the sounds of small running hooves coming toward her. Before she can turn around, the little colt is up on her back holding tightly to the strands of her dark blue mane,
“Somnus, I thought I told you to wait for me in the den.” Luna says a bit upset with Somnus as she stands up, Somnus now sitting on her back,
“You took too long, Auntie, to come back, it’s boring when you are not there so I came looking for you.” Somnus explains as Luna lifts her hoof up and chuckles into it,
“I am sorry Auntie, my little brother is still a bit of a hoof full for me.” Aurora says apologetically as she stares at Somnus sitting on Luna’s back as he sticks his tongue out at her, which gets her mad.
“It’s ok Aurora. You can thank your mother for that trait your father was the only pony that could handle your mother.” Luna said jokingly as Celestia sits up and crosses her hoofs in front of her and begins to sulk.
3:20 pm the disorder living room of guest cottage on the grounds of Night Rose stable, Noble Ward, City of Canterlot, Capital city of Equestria
Since discovering that her sister Gem Cutter kidnapped Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight from the Canterlot Royal Palace, Black Rose and Gem Cutter have fought turning the living room of the guest cottage into a battlefield. Magic bolts fly through the air striking anything in the way blowing huge holes in the walls.
“Damn you Gem Cutter! do you know how hard our mother worked to get out from under grandfather’s dark shadow!” Black Rose said gruffly as a magic bolt passes inches over her horn.
“Get out from under grandfather’s dark shadow? HA!” Gem Cutter said bitterly as one of her sister’s bolts took out one side of the sofa she was hiding behind.
“Our family had an Empire before Celestia and Luna took it from us. Then it returned and once again it was taken from us by Celestia and Luna’s niece. Now sister, you bow to those that took our history from us. I am simply taking back what was taken from us; our dignity.” Gem Cutter said brazenly as she fired a bolt at her sister.
“Dignity! Our grandfather stole hope and love from the ponies he ruled. How is that dignity, Gem Cutter!?” Black Rose said hotly ducking the bolt fired at her.
“Sacrifice had to be made for the good of the empire!” Gem Cutter said ruthlessly as it caused Black Rose to charge up her most powerful bolt and fire it, taking out the back wall of the guest cottage. Quickly Gem Cutter jumps through the hole in the wall and runs off into the city.
Meanwhile back in the nursery, Blueberry’s small stomach begins to growl. She looks around the nursery for Black Rose and doesn’t see her anywhere.
“Mama...hungry...hungry...baby.” Blueberry said in her small voice as she gets to her hooves and walks out of the nursery into the busy hallway of the main house,
“Hungry...hungry...baby...mama.” Blueberry calls again trying to get some pony attention so they can feed her. When she doesn’t get any pony attention, she begins to cry as her stomach continues to growl.
Flustered with no pony paying attention to her, Blueberry stops crying and continues down the hallway to look for some pony to feed her. She comes to a door and peeks in, she spots a pale pink color.
“Mama...mama...mama...hungry.” Blueberry calls running towards the box thinking it’s her mother Celestia but runs into a box of fabrics instead. The box closes with Blueberry inside it as a protecting spell cast upon her by her mother kicks in forming a shield over her. The address on the box reads the Carousel Boutique Ponyville.
4:00 pm Solar Guard Wing, late Prince Justice Silverlight old command office, Canterlot Royal Palace, Royal Ward, City of Canterlot
Since the death of Prince Justice Silverlight, his old command office in the Solar Guard Wing of the Canterlot Royal Palace has remained empty and locked out of respect to the best Solar Guard Commander the unit ever had.
Now a light shines once again in the office. Sitting behind Justice’s desk was his wife Princess Celestia. Ever since the kidnapping of her baby Princess Blueberry the M.O. of the crime has felt oddly familiar to her like it has happened before. But she can’t put her hoof on it. After summoning up her inner strength, Celestia headed to her late husband’s office to get the answers she needs.
‘I know the kidnapping of my family member feels strangely familiar to me. it’s like I’m reliving an old case file. That Justice and I solved years ago, but where is that case file?’ Celestia thought flipping and reading through the many case files that she and Justice solved together.
A moment later walking into the Solar Guard Wing of the Royal Palace with her wings folded on her side was a white pegasi mare. She had a dark blue mane and tail with a sky blue streak running through her mane to the end of her tail. On her flank was a whirlwind cutie mark.
This Pegasi mare was Elite Scout Anita Stormchaser. She was an old foalhood friend of Justice from his homeland of Dream Valley and when commanding the Solar Guard unit Justice’s Executive Assistant. As Anita set hoof into the building she stops and notices the light coming out of Justice’s office. She quietly uses her wing like a hand and loads her leg mounted magic crossbow with a bolt.
Quietly she makes her way to Justice’s office door with crossbow at the ready. She kicks the door open and flicks on the light. To her surprise, looking through a huge pile of case files on the desk was Princess Celestia.
“Oh, Your highness! What are you looking for here?” Anita sounding upset as she unloads her crossbow and sets off the empty weapon.
“Huh!” Celestia exclaims,
“Oh, Lady Stormchaser. Could you help me find a kidnapping case file?” Celestia asks as Anita walks over to the very last filing cabinet and opens the bottom drawer with her hoof.
“What city your highness?” Anita inquires
“Ponyville, I think that’s where it happened?” Celestia answers as Anita searches through many case files in the drawer marked “kidnappings.” till she finds the case file from Ponyville. The folder was marked with a white diamond on it.
“Gasp! that’s a Gem Cutter case.” Anita exclaimed carrying the case file over to the desk in her wing to give it to Celestia.
“Your highness do you know who Gem Cutter is?” Anita exclaims as Celestia’s hopeful mood changes to sadness and she begins to cry.
“I know that name all too well, Lady Stormchaser. If she has my baby, blueberry will never come home again. I will never be able to hold my baby again. She took my precious little filly away from me (as visions of her baby’s final moments of life flood her mind). I am sorry baby; mommy was unable to save you. The only thing I can do now is hope some pony finds my baby’s body and bring it back to me so I can lay it to rest next to her father.” Celestia said heartbroken as she dissolves into tears.
4:30 pm that same day Carousel Boutique, home to Miss Rarity, Ponyville, land of Equestria, Carousel Boutique front room.
“Well it’s about time this box of fabrics from Manehattan arrived this will set back my delivery date a week. but I finally got them. I just have to work faster to complete the delivery.” A female voice said as the top of the box opens.
Looking into the box was the most beautiful unicorn ever with a purple mane and blue eyes. This unicorn is Miss Rarity the owner of the Carousel Boutique in Ponyville and the element of Generosity.
“Wahahaha!” Rarity exclaims as a tiny pair of scared light blue eyes stare back at her from beneath pieces of fabric in the box. Rarity uses her magic to carefully lift away the fabric revealing a scared baby unicorn filly grasping a piece of pale pink fabric in her front hoofs.
“I don’t remember ordering a filly, darling but you are one cute filly.” Rarity comments lifting the baby unicorn filly out of the box with her magic and setting her on the ground to get a better look that at her.
“You kind of look familiar to me my little filly. Who are you?” Rarity said as the baby unicorn filly’s tummy growls again.
“HUNGRY!...HUNGRY!...BABY!...MAMA!” The unicorn filly screams in a loud Canterlot voice that she picked up from her Aunt Luna. Quickly answering Rarity’s question who this filly belongs to.
After running out to get a few things she needs to feed the hungry baby filly, Rarity sits Blueberry down in Sweetie Belle’s old high chair in the kitchen of the Carousel Boutique. She watches Blueberry eat her foal food and drink cow milk out of a small plastic cup.
“Well darling, it looks like you answered my question for me on who you belong to.” Rarity comments.
“There’s only one pony who used a loud Canterlot voice when she spoke. From what Twilight told me, that pony was your aunt, Princess Luna. So that means you are Princess Blueberry Swirl Silverlight the baby daughter to her highness Princess Celestia Silverlight. So darling, what is a little princess doing in Ponyville away from her mother Princess Celestia? I know for a fact that Alicorn mother of yours will never just lose her little princess.” Rarity comments floating the dishes into the sink so she can wash them.
“Miss mama bye home go.” Blueberry said sadly clutching the Celestia plush toy Rarity sewed together for her from the pale pink fabric she was tightly holding in the box. Tears begin to fall from her light blue eyes as this is the first time she been away this long from her mother Celestia since birth.
“Oh Princess, don’t cry, .I’ll get you back to your mother, you just have to stay with me for a while, until Twilight and Spike get back to the castle, then Spike will send a letter to your mother, telling her you are in Ponyville and come pick you up at the Castle of Friendship.” Rarity said kindly as Blueberry cheers-up.
“Mama...mama...go...home...go...home.” Blueberry said excited as she hugs the Celestia plush toy and slowly drifts off to sleep with a gleeful smile on her tiny snout.
It’s a week later, a depressed Princess Celestia arrives at the Castle of Friendship with remaining members of her royal family half expecting to pick-up the body of her dead foal Blueberry killed by Gem Cutter. Celestia snaps at Twilight telling her to get on with it. She wants to get back to Canterlot so she can do what she had to do before it gets later. The sudden outburst from Celestia catches Twilight totally by surprise. She gestures her two royal guards to open the door.
As the door opens, Aurora’s jaw drops. Having trouble running toward her mother Celestia was Blueberry. Aurora grabs her mother’s head and turns it towards the foal. Her breath catches in her throat. Seeing her baby filly alive running toward her, her heart fills with joy. She gets to her hooves and runs towards her baby losing her horseshoes along the way. She slides on her belly towards Blueberry and scoops her up into her front hoofs as she hugs and kisses her over and over again.
“How? Can this be I thought my baby was dead? Gem Cutter kidnapped her and her hatred toward me would cost me my filly’s life. But she is alive and that’s the most important thing to me. I can hold my precious filly again.” Celestia said overjoyed but puzzled with this outcome.
“I don’t know how it happened Princess. I found your baby in a shipment of fabrics I bought about a month ago in Manehattan. It was lost in delivery, then this afternoon the shipment finally arrived from somewhere. When I opened it, grasping a piece of pale pink fabric was your baby, she was well cared for, but a bit hungry, so I fed her and watched her until Twilight and Spike returned to the castle.” Rarity explains as Celestia was thankful for the return of her baby, but was still very puzzle. How could her baby end up in a shipment of fabrics from Manehattan that was lost in delivery?
“But anyway, thank you for feeding and caring for my baby until I could come and get her, Miss Rarity.” Celestia said thankful hugging and kissing her baby again.
“Think nothing of it Princess, I am happy I was finally able to pay back your late husband Justice. He risked his life to save my sister Sweetie Belle all those years ago after she was kidnapped by Gem Cutter.” Rarity explains as she leaves the throne room of the Castle of Friendship and heads back home.
