Pinkie knows that being a baker means taking a lot of responsibility for your product. The bread has to rise with Celestia. Nopony needs to go through Round Two on the Baked Bads. And if at all possible, you should absolutely avoid serving the kind of 'donuts' which summon an eldritch horror from beyond space and time to destroy the world.

The Cakes keep slipping up on that last part. Not deliberately, at least in that they don't know they're doing it -- but somepony still has to clean up the tentacled mess, and do it by the time Sun is raised. Which is going to be Pinkie. Again.

Break out the caffeine. It's going to be a long night.

Lil' Cheese knows that Sugarcube Corner wasn't always run by Pound and Pumpkin Cake. They merely took over from their parents, who are now retired.

Eager for a chance to meet them, Lil' Cheese is delighted when his mom and dad announce that they're going to do just that: Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Cake at Silver Shoals.

Lil' Cheese is sure it'll be a glorious first meeting. After all, he's been told that the Cakes were a second family to his mother. So that makes them like family to him as well, right?

Mr. and Mrs. Cake find their early morning interrupted by the Cutie-Mark Crusaders on another crusade, this time relating to mareliness. After her friends lose interest, Apple Bloom goes a bit further to visit another mare, and learns some new things about herself.

This story was originally published in February of 2020, as part of a trade with Catross, who wanted an Apple Bloom story. The cover art is by tobirone which, while not inspiring the story, depicts one of its scenes closely enough.

After thinking that the Cake Twins have learned a swear word from somewhere, Pinkie Pie and the other Cakes have to find a way to keep them from saying that word in time for a very important food critter.

Can they teach the little fillies to not say that word before it's too late?

Diets are no fun and Mrs. Cake finds herself needing to lose a few extra pounds if she wants to keep the attention of her loving husband.

Wrote this as a joke because of a lingering thought. Ended up being something else and longer than what I had initially thought it would be.
