The History of One Drink · 7:16pm Oct 19th, 2017

Greetings and salutations readers! I’m hard at work trying to wrap up Jungle‘s first draft (it is, if you’ll pardon the pun, a jungle), but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep you guys in the know. And today, I’ll be doing that with a recap of the creation of One Drink!

Season 3 Retrospective · 6:23pm Feb 16th, 2013

In the last months, we've seen these ponies
On many an inner journey,
And to end this season, I have composed
This poetic summery.

First Twilight went to the Crystal Empire
(In the loosest sense of the word),
To save it from King Sombra,
Let the Flugglehorn be heard!

Then Pinkie thought to clone herself
In order to increase her fun,
But that wasn't such a good idea
When all was said and done.

And the Cutie Mark Crusaders
Added Babs Seed to their ranks,

People of Bronycon 2018: It's About Friendship, Stupid! · 1:02am Aug 8th, 2018

Bronycon, perhaps obviously, is about friendship. About meeting new people, reconnecting with old ones. The first year I went I made a post like this, but last year I ran out of energy before I really could put it together and then it just took too long. I did not want to make that mistake this year; you guys, all of you that I met and chatted with, are what make Bronycon what it is, and I want to make sure to acknowledge this. So, here’s to all of you wonderful bastards for being there, and

Stories of Bronycon 2018: Going Quietly Into That Good Night · 1:01am Aug 8th, 2018

So, as per tradition I spent way too long writing way too much about all the misadventures I had on a hot weekend in Baltimore. There were laughs, there were tears, there was a lot of good memories. So, in the wise words of a great man; let’s just jump right into it!

Nyronus and the Mostly Okay But Still Not Perfect Trip In

What Bronycon retrospective would it be if I didn’t start off discussing the absolute shitpocalypse that was my attempt to get to the con?

Season 9 Retrospective · 2:03am Oct 13th, 2019

Warning: Season-wide spoilers abound. Proceed with caution.

I need to write this while the emotions of the finale are still fresh in my mind. Though the stories will continue in the comics (and countless fanfics, I'm sure), this is truly the end of an animation era. So, as a final season, did it go out with a bang, or a whimper? Follow me below the break to see my take.

Deconstructing is Magic: A My Little Pony Retrospective (S1:E2) · 10:37pm Oct 12th, 2020

Grrrrrrrrrrrrreetings friends, and welcome back to the freshly named "Deconstructing is Magic", a retrospective, review and analysis of every single MLP episode ever. As the title suggests, I will be taking apart the individual elements of what makes this beloved pony show what it is, seeing where it works, where it doesn't, and what made it so beloved.

Is This the Place We Used to Love? (Musings on Somewhere Only We Know) · 4:23am Jun 7th, 2015

Somewhere Only We Know just had its fourth anniversary and what the actual frickity frack, you guys.

When did that happen? Who allowed this? This story could go to preschool. This story could talk smack to me and draw pictures of itself. People who read this story in high school are in college now. The sands of time grow abrasive. Even now, I feel the claws of Father Time drag across my cheek as I the cold chasms of time whisp--

Ahem.

Hearts on the Table: An Early Retrospective · 10:27pm Nov 8th, 2019

Hello friends and followers! How are you doing on this [insert weather particulars here] [insert time of day here]? It's been raining pretty heavily in my neck of the woods, but an hour or two up the road sees cities and towns that have been placed under a state of emergency due to flooding, so I can't complain too much!

Season 6 Retrospective · 11:07pm Oct 22nd, 2016

Warning: Season-wide spoilers abound. Proceed with caution.

Well, the fish has jumped. I know, that's a weird reaction to this season ending, but I felt it was appropriate. After all, that's how this season felt to me. It certainly didn't generate the same excitement I got out of Seasons 4 and 5. Not to say it was bad by any means, but let's go over what worked and what didn't, shall we?

2017 · 4:47pm Jan 1st, 2018

Hey folks,

I probably should've published this yesterday, but I've been back in the States visiting family and was out of town most of the day. So my 2017 retrospective comes out in 2018 instead.

2017 had an odd feel for me, in that I felt like I managed a lot of writing, but at the same time did very little publishing. In fact, my story feed bears this out: I only published three stories in all of 2017.

This is a little rambling... · 6:14am Feb 20th, 2018

Ok, so a lot of people I spend an inordinate amount of time talking with do this and I’m going to give this a try. I’m not used to doing retrospectives, so bear with me here. I’ll be keeping this retrospective to the major stories more than the one-shots.

Homecoming.
