Greetings and salutations readers! I’m hard at work trying to wrap up Jungle‘s first draft (it is, if you’ll pardon the pun, a jungle), but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep you guys in the know. And today, I’ll be doing that with a recap of the creation of One Drink!

Bronycon, perhaps obviously, is about friendship. About meeting new people, reconnecting with old ones. The first year I went I made a post like this, but last year I ran out of energy before I really could put it together and then it just took too long. I did not want to make that mistake this year; you guys, all of you that I met and chatted with, are what make Bronycon what it is, and I want to make sure to acknowledge this. When did that happen? Who allowed this? This story could go to preschool. This story could talk smack to me and draw pictures of itself. People who read this story in high school are in college now. The sands of time grow abrasive. Even now, I feel the claws of Father Time drag across my cheek as I the cold chasms of time whisp--

It's been raining pretty heavily in my neck of the woods, but an hour or two up the road sees cities and towns that have been placed under a state of emergency due to flooding, so I can't complain too much!

Well, the fish has jumped. I know, that's a weird reaction to this season ending, but I felt it was appropriate. After all, that's how this season felt to me. It certainly didn't generate the same excitement I got out of Seasons 4 and 5. Not to say it was bad by any means, but let's go over what worked and what didn't, shall we?

I probably should've published this yesterday, but I've been back in the States visiting family and was out of town most of the day. So my 2017 retrospective comes out in 2018 instead.
2017 had an odd feel for me, in that I felt like I managed a lot of writing, but at the same time did very little publishing. In fact, my story feed bears this out: I only published three stories in all of 2017.
Ok, so a lot of people I spend an inordinate amount of time talking with do this and I’m going to give this a try. I’m not used to doing retrospectives, so bear with me here. I’ll be keeping this retrospective to the major stories more than the one-shots.
