The best advice I could give would probably be not to ask an unemployed ponyfic writer living on oatmeal and fimfiction notifications for advice. But I could hardly turn down an invitation to indoctrinate someone with my opinions. So here is the first installment of
Almost everything you write where there’s a conflict between two characters can be thought of as a combination of a fight and a dialogue, and those two things are really different ways of describing the same thing. When two characters cross swords, it’s just a way of talking out their differences with action, and when two characters get into a screaming match or a debate, that’s no different from a boxing match.
And there are good and bad ways to write that.

Yesterday I recorded a little podcast in response to someone on my tumblr asking me about frustration over not getting comments. I thought I would share it here just in case it's relevant and useful for anyone.
The 36 questions
So I’m studying journalism at the moment, and one thing I’ve come across is a list called the 36 questions. The 36 questions are what I’ve been practicing for interviews, and the history behind them is interesting; they resulted from a study on love, how we fall in love, what causes it and how to maintain it.
Every now and then I have to remind myself what things I have control over and what I don't.
Things I can control:
I can write stories about whatever ideas I happen to have
I can ask advice about how to make them better
I can decide who I want advice from and who I don't for whatever reason
I can listen to that advice, or I can decide not to listen for whatever reason
I can spend as much or little time on a story as I feel like spending.
I can edit a story whenever I want.
So, one thing that I would really like to be able to include, but I have no idea just how to do so for the most part, is musical numbers. Not just using songs that I know and just transcribe into the fic, but also something more original. I mean, uplifting musical numbers are just part of life in the source material. I can get away with not doing them, but it also feels kinda sad to have a character whose name literally has the word "sing" in it not take part in the various musical features
I run roleplaying games every so often as I've been in the GM hotseat since I was seventeen when my first two DMs took major dumps on the game before quitting, lol. That's nearly ten years of me trying to learn how to be a better DM and lots and lots of study. At this point I could probably get paid to DM if I wanted to charge people.
It has been a long time since i wrote a book. It being smut and all I am out of my zone here. I want to write books about dating ponies. I hope to get some pointers on here before i start. Like what should i go for? Who should I go for? And how do i balance feels with smut (physical feels)? I want my first story to be my oc and vinyl scratch. Please give me luck and advice.

I just love writing characters a lot. From heroes, to anti-heroes, to supporting characters, etc. But if there's one thing I'd love to write more, it's the villains and anti-villains. Whether big or small, serious or goofy, sympathetic or monstrous, villains are one of my breads and butters in terms of character writing. I'm not saying that I don't like writing hero characters or any other characters. I just think that villains are the most interesting types of characters from my point of

Gods aren't all, all-knowing/ all-powerful beings, in both myths and modern fiction there's a scale of godly power and I will show my interpretation of this scale here for anyone to use for reference.

My cumulative advice for writers has been progressively expanding to an unmanageable point for a single blog post. It’s been taken down to undergo restructuring as to produce a more manageable format. This blog post will be the hub for all subsequent topics and advice. It is broken into sections with a link to the individual posts, while containing a short blurb about the topic in question. If you find a link that doesn't work yet, stay tuned, it will.
Sequels are ways for authors to continue their story in a new light, giving the story new conflicts and characters and change the theme that the original story had. It's a way for us to continue something that we thought complete, or a way to adapt the story with current capabilities and writing techniques that we may have learned. It's also a way to give fans of those stories more of what they love.
Yet, sequels are not so easy to write.

Another addition to the Cumulative Advice blog I've been writing; this one focuses on misconceptions as a core idea. The most fundamental misconception in all of literature occurs when the reader assumes that if a character believes (or says) a thing, then that thing must be true. This assumption undermines the very concept of characters as people, since it goes against the first rule of humanity:
