The Inner Conflict · 5:21am Jan 14th, 2021

Greetings and salutations, my name is Wrex and this is my review. Get ready to roll out, cause I'm reviewing 'The Inner Conflict', the sequel to 'Megatron's Revenge'. Full disclosure: While I did offer some minor assistance, I won't be doing any favors. This story picks up right Rumble got nabbed by Laserbeak, so recommend reading the first story. This story shows that there's a thin line between truths and lies, you can always count on family, and that the truth has ways of being revealed.

Do Songs Correlate With Bad Things? · 8:17am Feb 23rd, 2016

I'm probably late to the party noticing this, but it seems like most of the songs in the series are highlighting a lack of harmony and I think this tendency is especially strong with solo songs. It's just kind of sad.

Why can't fillies read mature books? · 1:53pm Mar 9th, 2019

You’ve seen Sweetie Belle read a book about magic and even put it into practice. Yet her newly gained craving for knowledge still isn’t quenched. The books in Twilight’s library are enticing her. Who cares if they’re mature! Will she answer the call or will Twilight meddle in her affairs

How to Write More Good - Conflict · 5:30am Oct 5th, 2018

Almost everything you write where there’s a conflict between two characters can be thought of as a combination of a fight and a dialogue, and those two things are really different ways of describing the same thing. When two characters cross swords, it’s just a way of talking out their differences with action, and when two characters get into a screaming match or a debate, that’s no different from a boxing match.

And there are good and bad ways to write that.

Time for Conflict! · 7:28pm Sep 29th, 2020

Well, after rewriting this story three times, I'm finally more or less satisfied with where it is. The published version of the first book in the "Thorn of Equestria" series finally gets its first conflict introduced and admittedly, I'm hoping it's going to be a real puzzler to the folks who have the time or desire to read it.

Crusade · 12:18am Sep 11th, 2020

I need you guys to give my friend and I support on a project of ours. We'll be updating it soon, and hopefully consistently. It's a Displaced war, but on a smaller scale. We've used the mistakes of the past to help us make this one truly special. It's mainly Warhammer 40k, but you don't need to know anything to follow along. I know I don't.

The Hardest Part of Writing Sequels · 1:01am Nov 24th, 2021

Sequels are ways for authors to continue their story in a new light, giving the story new conflicts and characters and change the theme that the original story had. It's a way for us to continue something that we thought complete, or a way to adapt the story with current capabilities and writing techniques that we may have learned. It's also a way to give fans of those stories more of what they love.

Yet, sequels are not so easy to write.

Cute Couples Who Are Really Hard to Ship · 8:09pm Nov 24th, 2015

I think RaraRara would be cute, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a conflict to drive their story. They're the kind of couple where their biggest problem would probably be that thier demanding, mostly unrelated careers would keep them from spending time together. Which is a thing, but not a very exciting thing. Unless

I think my next thing will be a FlutterDash story, and since I write them both as kind of self-destructive, finding conflict in that should be a breeze.

Regarding My Old Blog About The J K Rowling Fiasco · 8:59pm Sep 29th, 2020

Okay, this is not easy for me to say.

A few months ago when the scandal about J K Rowling assuming transphobic rhetoric came out, I was hesitant to believe it was actually transphobic. I said that she was likely mistaken and urged everyone to use their heads and address the matter calmly.

I don't know how to handle this numb anxiety let alone come to terms with a conflicted history dealing with twenty years of psychological turmoil coming to bitter conclusion. 😟

An appraisal-based ontology of fiction · 2:13am Jun 28th, 2017

1. APPRAISALS

I was doing some consulting on “sentiment analysis” of tweets, which means making computers guess whether tweets say good things or bad things about whatever they’re talking about. This led me to The Appraisal Website and their appraisal ontology, which divides appraisals into 3 types:

The Movie · 4:16pm Oct 3rd, 2017

I was just reminded that that's a thing.

Given that I'm still a full season behind and haven't even thought about pony in months... is it worth it to go see it; is it shaping up to be pretty good?

Just in general, I'm debating with myself if I want to try to get back into the show, or if I'd be better off just letting it go for good and not looking back.

Just a Thought · 6:56pm Nov 15th, 2019

So there's this documentary called "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" which is about Mr. Rogers, the mystique, philosophy, controversy and so on surrounding his life and work. I heard and read plenty enough about the man, but hearing these things retold alongside new factoids and anecdotes and instances never stops fascinating me and making me feel good about things, about the goodness that can exist in people.

Screaming Around the Turkey - Dealing With Differences at Thanksgiving and Beyond · 8:49pm Nov 26th, 2019

As we lead up to Thanksgiving and all the stereotypical conflict that surrounds the dining table, I am mindful of how intensely polarized our society has become. It is becoming harder and harder for people to remain friends, it seems. Recent days have reminded me how grateful I am for the friends I've made over the years, and the lessons we've learned from our own conflicts. I have decided to share some of these lessons with you, in the hopes that it will make your lives and the lives of those

Starting at the bottom · 5:43am Feb 8th, 2022

I suppose everyone reaches a point in their life where everything seems to peak before consistently and persistently trailing downward in a spiral that never ends. For me, that spiral started in mid 2018 and has never let up. And anyone who has kept up knows what the highlights of that descent has been.
