I wrote a thing for a collaborative story! And it (my part) is about Best Former Villain! · 1:18am Nov 18th, 2017

Just started watching Season 6, and I already like Time Traveling Communist Starlight Glimmer than Post-Reformation Starlight Glimmer. Just feels more natural I guess (even if her backstory doesn't). Besides, imagine her speaking smugly to Twilight in a Russian accent whilst sitting beside the Cutie Map.
"Privyet, Princess Twilight."
"Starlight, what have you done?"

A short story in which Starlight Glimmer writes one last letter to her teacher, and in my opinion, restructures her as a character faster and more efficiently than the show ever did. Score one for fan fiction.
(Hat-tip to Emylia Hawke's blog for prompting this post.)
Sunset Shimmer's parents were so proud when Sunset was not only accepted into Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, but became Celestia's personal protégé. Of course, it was hard for them, being separated from their daughter while she was away at boarding school, but it just made the time they had together during school holidays all that much more precious.
After much soul searching and fiendish planning, I have finally published Lessons Learned after I revoked the submission last week because of sluggish moderation, but the title has changed! Fitting, I suppose, because of the changes Starlight goes through in the story. Having your world literally destroyed because of your actions can be traumatic. But folks, the pay off is good (and so is the story). I recommend having some facial tissues on hand.
Season 5 left me on an uneasy note for shaking up the status quo this way. Season 6 then turned a lot of folks sour at the idea of another new alicorn. So how did it go?
I was watching the Tangled series episode "Queen For A Day" on YouTube, and on a whim I checked the comments section. And one of them said, "Oh great. Another Starlight."
And I realized that they were right.
The writers and most fans of the show like to portray Varian as this tragic character, but he's not. He's a whiny selfish brat, who just like Starlight, rushes into things without any sort of forethought, and blames everyone and everything for his own problems.
And yes, I am aware that my proposed fixes might make the seasons a bit short but hey, season 3 was the shortest season of the entire show (only 13 episodes long) so...you know.
Warning for those who haven't seen the Season 5 Premiere: this will contain spoilers and it will also contain information regarding this season's finale sometime down the way. Also, this might include some graphic information that might be unsettling to some readers. Discretion is advised before entering this blog post.
I have a new story planned for this month. This story will take place after season 9 and will have music. Things will be intense, so please come and read this exciting and terrifying new story.

The Runaway Bodyguard is now published and is in weekly serialization. Come along for the thrill ride as Starlight runs away from the life of a noble to Baltimare to make a life where she's in control. She wants to study magic and be left alone, but the world won't cooperate. She becomes an athlete, a prizefighter, and eventually becomes naively entangled with the eastern Equestrian mob and unwittingly controlled by
The 5th chapter in The Runaway Bodyguard was released on Friday. Starlight learns something about world and self-image while experiencing the Pullpony service on the train to Canterlot.

This blog is tied to my recently released intertwining series, Oddies and Their Convergence. If you haven't read it and are looking at this blog while wanting to read it, please go ahead and read it first before you read this blog as it's important that you understand the story first before reading this blog.
Read it? Good, now let's discuss.
It took me a long time to warm up to Starlight Glimmer. I remembered how she ran that pseudo-marxist town. *shivers* The stuff of nightmares.
I rememberd how she messed with time travel, attempted to murder Twilight, and was forgiven too easily and went through a rushed redemption phase.
I would've loved to do a list ranking the songs for Spike, but he only got one (not counting that improv with the Cloudsdale Anthem in "Equestria Games") and it really didn't do anything for him character wise. Starlight Glimmer, at least, did get more than one song even if it's tricky deciding what counts. Ultimately, there are five songs that I think count for her. And now we're gonna rank them all from worst to best, based not only on personal enjoyment but also what they do for her as a
