SPOILERS! I NOW LOVE STARLIGHT GLIMMER! · 8:01am May 23rd, 2017

It took me a long time to warm up to Starlight Glimmer. I remembered how she ran that pseudo-marxist town. *shivers* The stuff of nightmares.

I rememberd how she messed with time travel, attempted to murder Twilight, and was forgiven too easily and went through a rushed redemption phase.

And I was absolutely furious when Starlight brainwashed the mane five that one time and it took a long while for Starlight to realize THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER MIND-RAPE ANYONE AT ALL! *Pants heavily* Okay, let me take a breath.

*Breathe in. Breathe out slowly.*

Okay, I'm calm.

Anyway, after seeing the recent episode "royal problem", I. Absolutely. Fell in love with Starlight. Her boldness, Her initiative. Her following her gut instinct. And that the fact that she is not one of those infuriutaing characters who believe that Royalty is all so perfect, made me love Starlight Glimmer so much that I have taken her previous offenses and dumped them to be sunk in the middle of a deep ocean.

As far as Starlight is concerned, she is a repentant and all-around good pony. THUMBS UP FOR HER! :pinkiehappy:

Starlight is good.

I admit, I wasn't thrilled with Starlight during season 5 either. I saw her as a power-hogging petty tyrant, and her effort to change history was done without considering the consequences and was merely an effort by Starlight to get revenge on Twilight. I also felt that the season 5 ending was a bit too trusting.

However, season 6 showed how she was remorseful for her actions, and by the end of it, she was a fully functioning member of the team. I'm glad the show had that arc with Starlight's redemption and her efforts to make up for it. Yes, she made and continues to make mistakes, but that doesn't stop her, and she does have meaningful relationships, including some with characters we thought might never be friends with anyone, Trixie included. It's a great part of the continuity in the show, and it's one of the aspects that make it good, even if the golden age of the first two seasons is yet to be reproduced in fullness (and I sincerely hope it is). I've forgiven her for what she did earlier, and I hope more people have as well. Starlight is a great character, and like Luna, she really speaks to people who have made poor and evil choices in their lives and are seeking forgiveness and redemption, as well as to try to offer other the same grace and redemption they have been given and accepted.

May God go with you all
