Role Reversal can sometimes be the hardest to write for. It's because of Rarity's voice and mannerisms. I sometimes have to stop and go "That doesn't sound right" when it's coming out of Rarity's mouth and re-do entire parts of the story. Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie were easy because it's easy for me to get into their head. Rarity is another pickle altogether. I had trouble with Freudian Slip and I've had trouble with Role Reversal.
Hey out there, my dear readers!
Just thought some of you might be interested to know about a project I'm working on, along a few other friends on here: We are attempting to adapt my Tears of Gaia story into a full on audio-play! Right now we're still in the writing stage, adapting the story into a script format for the voice actors, as well as working on artwork for the videos. Which is where all of you come in!
I noticed an interesting undercurrent in the comments on Appellation Mountains. A few people were disgusted by the very presence of Flash Sentry. Never mind that he was only in one scene and is merely the equine analogue of the Waifu Thief. No, any sign of Flash displeased them.
Naturally, I am therefore working on a story starring human Flash Sentry. It should be in the queue by tomorrow. Read on for a cut scene.
All right! And we’re back with today’s follow-up to one of our more recent posts! Remember? The one about health?
Okay, I’m actually joking. This isn’t a post about that. But it was too good an opportunity a joke to pass up. Sagging middle … anyway …
Hi everyone,
For those of you who have recently followed me for Prismatic, welcome! For those of you who have been following me for longer, welcome back! It has been a challenging year thus far, but I'm happy to say that as winter is finally behind us (I still had snow here just last week), my mood and drive to write have exponentially improved.
Catch some news below the break:
Real cheery title for the first post of 2017, isn't it?
Seriously though, welcome to 2017! I hope it feels like as much of a breath of fresh air for the rest of you as it does from me. Though in my case, it's mostly because I took the last two weeks off.
I know. I took an actual vacation. Cleared games out of my backlog, read a bunch of books, and everything. And you know what's funniest about it?
Yes! Being a Better Writer has returned to Monday!
Honestly, I think I just got lucky this week in not being called into work today, but even so, it feels good to be working on BaBW on a Monday again! This is the day when it's supposed to go down ... Well, up, technically.
Today is also the first day we'll be going off of Topic List IX! That's right, new list, new topics!
Which brings us to today's topic of choice: digging deeper with characters!
Greetings from Alaska, readers! Yes, that's right, I'm home visiting my parents for a few days. And old friends. It's fantastic. I flew in Sunday morning, after a nice long layover in Seattle which was most of my Saturday. As usual, the trip to my hometown was roughly a full day's journey. That was okay, however, as I'd brought my WiiU with me.
Hey guys, Max here with a couple of noteworthy news updates!
I’ll get to the first and most exciting one first. Shadow of an Empireis now in Beta! The Beta Readers invites have been sent out, several readers have already responded and received their links to the Master Beta Read document, and things are in motion!
The new Fluttershy episode is bullshit. Even under extreme duress, Fluttershy would never classify raccoons as rodents! They're carnivora! Carnivora! Even I know that and I'm only a level 5 animal nerd! Fluttershy is level 20, epic prestige class animal goddess. Even if Equestria doesn't use a Linnaean-type classification system, they clearly have different teeth than rodents. Come ON!
I'm actually kind of pissed about this?
Hello everyone, Wave "The Sound" Blaster here with a new article to pass time while I'm not able yet to write the fics due to me still being tied up to university. This time, however, instead of one of my usual reviews wit Pinkie and Trixie, or one of my social problematic ramblings or an editorial, I want to give you guys something somewhat useful, as also share a recent experience in life that taught me one or two things about life itself and the kind of society that is the western culture.
Gah, I finally have all the notes for Lightbearers done, and now I cannot wrap my fucking head around it. I can't even figure out where the fuck I was trying to go with it. Trying to put this monster together is an exercise in frustration and depression, nothing is making a single damned bit of sense and I want to just throw it all out and pretend it never happened. I think the only reason I don't is the fact that it's a fucking year's worth of work at this point and my brain won't let go of
Welcome back readers! Thank you, b the way, for letting me have that break last week. I needed it. Last week was a slam as far as work goes. But, there is good news.
The Beta for Jungle is done. Yeah, you read that right. Done.
Whee! I hit 100 followers last week. Thanks to my 100th, Genderface, you and everypony else stalking me are AWESOME!
Hello, readers! I hope you’ve all had a pretty good weekend and are back and ready to talk about writing, because we’ve got an interesting topic here today. Which is a request topic, but in a broader sense than the original seeker intended.
I know I haven't updated Voiceless in a long time, but right now for some reason I have been getting major writer's block with that story...
And my mind has been wandering around with a few more ideas.
One of them is a potential one-shot based around Starlight Glimmer's actions when she flees into the mountain caves.
Another is a OC story (no, another OC besides my main one as my avatar) that is more-or-less of an adventure/mystery.
