Friendship is Card Games: Trixie and the Razzle-Dazzle Ruse

We return to the pony novels this week, and hopefully a better showing from the titular mare. Last time we saw Trixie in one of these, G. M. Berrow was channeling the fandom circa 2011 and making her and Gilda the designated antagonists of the piece. Let’s see what she’s up to this time.

Friendship is Card Games: Kenbucky Roller Derby #2 & #3

We return to the cutthroat world of G5 roller derby, where Sunny’s trying her darndest to prove she’s more than just a casual skater… and has assembled one of the most ragtag teams of misfits this side of the Mighty Ducks in the process. Let’s see how the story’s developed from there.

    Swan Song

No, not mine. The Barcast's. The last call is currently under way, and if you want to hear my part in the grand interview lightning round, you can tune in at 4:20 Eastern/1:20 Pacific (about an hour from this posting.)

Yes, 4:20 on 4/20. No, I do not partake. Sorry to disappoint. :derpytongue2:

    Pest List

Just something I whipped together for fun one day, set to a possibly recognizable tune, all intended in good fun. And hey, given that I derived my Fimfic handle from a misremembered detail of the Mikado, it's only appropriate. :derpytongue2:

Friendship is Card Games: d20 Pony, Ch. 9, Pt. 1

Goodness, it’s been almost two years since I last checked in on Trailblazer’s adventures. IDW putting out comics almost as quickly as I could review them will do that, especially given all of the G5 video media coming out concurrently.

Flashes to Flashes · 10:14pm Jan 4th, 2016

I noticed an interesting undercurrent in the comments on Appellation Mountains. A few people were disgusted by the very presence of Flash Sentry. Never mind that he was only in one scene and is merely the equine analogue of the Waifu Thief. No, any sign of Flash displeased them.

Naturally, I am therefore working on a story starring human Flash Sentry. :trollestia: It should be in the queue by tomorrow. Read on for a cut scene.

Flash burst into the practice room, barely registering the racks of clothes. “Sunset!”

She looked up from her guitar case. “Yes?”

“Have you heard from Twilight recently?”

“I heard from a Twilight a few minutes ago, but I'm guessing you mean the one you already know.”

"Yeah."

"Ha!" Pinkie emerged from one of the racks, wearing a wet suit and a wreath of laurels. "I told Ditzy we didn't need those pamphlets."

Sunset shook her head. “I wrote to her days ago, and I still haven’t heard from her. She has a lot of responsibilities back home, Flash.”

“Look, the moment you do, I need to know.”

The Rainbooms traded confused looks. “What did you do?” asked Dash.

“Something stupid, and I should be the one to admit it.”

Rarity nodded approvingly. “Very noble of you.”

“When I do hear from her," said Sunset, "you’ll be sixth to know.”

Flash blinked. “Sixth?”

“We’re kind of having a minor crisis. I’m…” Sunset trailed off and bit her lip. “Well, I’m fairly sure it won’t end in demonic mind control. At least seventy percent confidence.”

"Well... I guess I'll take it. Thanks."

OMG I WANT TO READ NOW!

Georg #2 · Jan 4th, 2016 · · ·

I dare you to title it "Flash Sentry - Savior of the Universe"

Flash Sentry Saves The World.

Thank you for the chapter title. Until now, it was going to be "Products of an Ine-Flash-tic Collision."

Flash Sentry is the best character in the franchise, and you should only write fics about him from now on.

3664469
That's not how you spell "Brad"

Yeesh, I can understand the initial dislike that Flash revived, but the rabid, knee jerk hatred he gets now is beyond all rationality.

My mistake. Sorry.

I like the way you think, FOME! (If I didn't, I'd hardly be following you, of course...)

This makes me kinda want to write an extraordinarily shippy FlashLight story myself, just to bother the people who get hives from him.

I ship FlashLight just to annoy people like the ones you described.

Contrarianism, the seed of many great and strange human ideas.

I like Flash Sentry simply because he causes so much irrational and idiotic rage. It's cute how people react with such venom.

Great minds think alike.

As do disturbed ones.

If you need a prereader I am so down with that.

I ship FlashLight, cause it's one of the few canon ships, and i'm old enough to not have cartoon waifus I guess, this is one thing where I just don't get the raging bronies at all.

Also i don't see a problem with Twilight liking a guard (or a guy who's probably some kind of future law enforcement/armed forces officer). Hey, it's what 2 out of every 4 Equestrian princesses prefer.

I approve of this 1000‰.

Oh, I know! You should ship Flash with Starlight Glimmer, then bring Twilight in and make a triad! Everyone will love it!

I will favorite and upvote this story on principal, I think. But that snippet makes me strongly look forward to it.

3664448
Seconded.

I eagerly await this. :pinkiehappy:

This sounds fun. Proceed! :pinkiehappy:

As a Flash Sentry fan, I approve of this idea.

This is wonderful. Any plan with merely a 30% chance of ending in demonic possession is great in my book!

Prepare the jimmies for the grand Rustlegeddon!

Oh, this is gonna be good :pinkiehappy:

...Is this going to be a story or a one shot? It sounds like a one shot.

Ooh, a Flash Sentry story made just to troll those anti-FS fanboys? Awesome! [The opinions expressed in this comment are not meant for offensive purposes.] :trollestia:

3665451
One-shots are stories. They're just stories that have one chapter. This will be one of them.

3665781
It's not solely to troll the Flash hatedom. This idea's been percolating since shortly after I saw Friendship Games. The reactions to Appellation Mountains just gave me the perfect excuse to push it to the front burner of my overcrowded idea stove.

3665808 Aww. I disagree though, one shots are scenes: parts to a greater whole. I could go down the rabbit hole till I agree with you, because I know at the core we agree on this in some way, but I've chosen to share my overarching opinion for some reason I can't recall at this moment. ...And my head fills like a bag of bricks...and maybe some loose mortar and cement.

Still, look forward to it.

Spite writing is best writing.
