Welcome back, readers, to another Being a Better Writer post!
I never thought this would happen, but someone actually created a TV Tropes page of my story, Through the Eyes of Anon-a-Miss!
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Fanfic/ThroughTheEyesOfAnonAMiss
I'm... honored. I don't know who made that, but I wanted to say... thank you to whoever thought my story is worth including on that site!
If anyone's interested, check it out!
Wow, even TV Tropes is contradicting their own tropes and seriously overlooking things.
Friendship is Failure #20: A Hearths Warming I'll never forget.
I created that fanfic for two specific reasons...
1: Most of all, I could finally wail on Twilight Sparkle the way Quagmire wailed on Brian; voicing why I loathe her so much so I can make her upset... and crush her Hearths Warming Spirit.
People sure love to complain...
She always tries her best to get through to those with friendship problems and help them improve their lives, no matter how much they reject and act hostile towards her.
She gets disrespected a lot because she wants to help people, even though she's a princess who's saved Equestria on multiple occasions.

I have a tropes page now! Guess it'll be a continual work in progress, especially since I'm still learning the ins and outs of the sight. Hopefully I can inspire the rest of you to add to it too. Please feel free.

I was just wondering, why hasn’t anyone created a TV tropes page about this story?
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/349270/rules-of-engagement
I would’ve made one if I knew how to do the way I wanted buuuuut………:(
Brainwashed and Crazy: By the enchanted armor.
Redemption Equals Death: Is freed from the armor, but dies soon after.
Suspiciously Similar Substitute: He is related to a good guy, is also good but turned evil because of his armor, gets freed from the control but has to die doing so... and is not named Fratello this time.
If I may quote from Mr. Hand...
Shortly after my second story appeared on TV Tropes site, I now have a creator's page on TV Trope site as well!
Sometimes people say, that a character is out of character. But what is “in character”, in this case?
I have found a good quote about this phenomena, from the Depending on the Writer page on the TV Tropes.
Brainwashed: To like Starfleet and feel sorry for attacking his sister in the original version. In the updated version, he's "merely" sent to an insane asylum instead.
Incorrect.
In the initial story, he was not brainwashed, he was put into a magical fantasy to help show him things (A bit like forcing him to watch a movie) and he was sent to the asylum in BOTH versions.
Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week.
So, I've been trying to learn Pathfinder, since my DnD group is wanting to explore other game systems after all of WotC's shenanigans and I've been pondering what setting to present to my players. As I've been thinking about it and considering the idea of maybe doing a generic fantasy setting... That also tries to put twists on or make fun of existing fantasy tropes.
Thus we have this weeks questions:
I don't think it comes as any surprise that Fluttershy is my favorite pony, if my avatar and my extensive collection of fluttershy related merchandise irl are anything to go by, so you can imagine that nothing pisses me off more when my favorite pony is written incorrectly.
And no, it's not clickbait.
Wow! A post about Mykan that is not a critique of his series or a link to an mst or a response post! make a wish people.
No, I still don't like the guy (I blocked him) but one has to give credit where is due.
While he is known for hating giving characters complex personalities because they hold back the plot, he, perhaps unwillingly ,wrote an actual complex character.
Who is this complex character?
Seriously?! This bull again?!
An evil version of Beast Boy who wants to destroy everything for not getting Terra.
-He is an evil incarnation of an adult Beast Boy...
I'm getting really annoyed with all the complaints I keep getting (Not that I wouldn't get them if Calista was saved anyway)
But you know I have a much easier answer to counter all this SLOP with one simple rebuttal... SEE THE BOTTOM... but let's hack at these morons anyway.
Let's see... it reads.
New chapter is up, and perhaps it's time to check in on the aristocracy! Surely the nobility will have reasonable suggestions on how to deal with the ever-growing Shiner threat... right?

*Sighs*
Maybe I should join the tropes myself and then I can really get rid of all this propaganda, especially seeing as how these bozos don't even read the stories right.
Expy:
He is basically a male version of Twilight Sparkle, only without her personality and what makes her likable.
Likable to you maybe...
