Today, I received a private message. As you might already know if you've seen me posting comments in some places recently, I am a very huge advocate for it that ponyfics stay online, whether on the accounts of their authors or on independent archives, such as FIMFetch or my archive account, Fluttercheer's Orphanage for Abandoned Pony Fiction.
So, after my initial review of "Horse Play" and steaming my brain with the thoughts Celestia's Onesversary brought up in me, here are my afterthoughts on it..... Which I had to split into three parts, this episode is an unexpected goldmine of interesting things to dig through!
Here is Part 1 of them:
I rewatched "Molt Down" today to finally do my afterthoughts on the episode, and I discovered an interesting connection to something we've seen in another episode. If you think back to "Princess Spike" in Season 5, you will (if you weren't busy complaining about another Spike episode) probably remember these:
Time for more thoughts on this episode! Like every week, I have done some afterthoughts on it. It's not as much as in other weeks, but I could still discover some interesting things:
Wow, these were two crazy months I am coming out from..... October was filled with so many releases like I never had before in a single month. All together, I published three one-shots + my flashfic anthology in October. "Unsung Hero" and
Good evening and welcome in Fluttercheer's Madhouse.
Or, something like that. Relationship and Internet drama (more about that will follow when the stars are aligned for it, can't go into detail right now, but you'll know what that means once you see it) hampered my concentration and writing output a bit again, so the last few months felt a bit like a madhouse for me, but things keep moving along.
Somefilly is a very happy filly right now! It's now more than three days ago that I released "Wish for a Mother" and the results have been overwhelming and breathtaking!
After some delay due to a certain rise of depressions, here are now my belated afterthoughts on "Surf and/or Turf":
- Right at the beginning of the episode, I noticed something interesting about Sweetie Belle's reaction over it that they get send to Mount Aris. After she said "Wow, that's almost", she paused for a very short moment and only then continued with "off the table!". And she was flinching slightly during that pause and seemed confused.
With the launch of my Patreon account, I am starting a new series called "Fluttercheer's Weekly Writing"! This will be a series of reports to show you what I have been writing each week. You can read a longer and in-depth version of this report on Patreon for pledging 5$ per month in the "The Early Foal Sneaks A Peek" tier.
A few days after the Season 8 Finale aired, I was sitting down and pondered about it why Cozy Glow did all the things she did and why she wanted to take over Equestria.
I was one of those who did not believe that she is evil and found myself surprised over it that she is a villain. However, even with that turnout, I still don't think that Cozy Glow is actually evil, so I thought about why she did all that and what her exact motives were.
Here are my Afterthoughts for "The Break Up Break Down"! A little bit less than in other weeks, but there are still some interesting observations to be made:
- I already loved the first few moments of the episode, because we finally saw the Crystal Empire again! It's a place we unfortunately get to see rarely, the last time where there was a real focus on it was during Season 6 in "The Times They Are a Changeling"!
So, after I checked into "Letters to Cozy Glow" yesterday while writing the next letter/chapter, my eyes fell on the short description and I discovered a small error in it. Small, as in, only one word was wrong. But it made the sentence sound very stupid and gave a wrong idea of what it says.
I went and fixed it, then read through the long description to make sure there isn't a similar error. I found one and it sounded similarly stupid and I fixed that one as well.
I have just released an anthology of my flashfics that I am writing for the Flashfic 150 competitions. There isn't much to say here, everything I could say here is something I already said in the description of the anthology, but I'm used to accompany story releases with a blog entry. Here is the link to the anthology, everything is explained there:

Something I love is to do certain things at the same time each year. Little yearly traditions, like rewatching the first two episodes of MLP: FiM that I saw after I moved out from my mother's apartment and after I had settled into my own living space, put up all my furniture and unpacked all my belongings. This includes writing a story for the holidays each year. Not necessarily for all holidays (that would be cool, but I don't think I am organized enough to pull that off, not to mention that

"A Matter of Principals" introduced us to a nice little bit of worldbuilding for Equestria: Arcane Detectors!
The Dark Season is over. It lasts always longer in my mind, sometimes a few days, sometimes a few weeks, but now it's over. The Fluttering Scare is gone, at least until next year, and Fluttercheer is back. The curse gift has been taken. And in place of The Dark Season steps the Hearth's Warming Season, the Season of Light. It begins exactly today and with it, there comes.....
