Work Continues on Firefly · 8:38pm Nov 13th, 2019

Following Monday's chapter release. As I seem to have some strong momentum on the story, I'll continue working on it in lieu of Nightmare Night for now.
Let me start by saying the last chapter release was a roaring success, with a long-lived visit to the feature list, resulting in five new likes spread across both Firefly stories. The original Before the Storm is now closing in on the 300-like milestone, and I'll have an announcement for when it crosses it. So a warm welcome to new readers, with my great thanks for all the upvotes and comments. Can't say enough how much getting good feedback drives authors to create more!
7500 words down, with likely another ~2500 words to go as work has eased a bit if not entirely relented. Unfortunately, just writing the draft it isn’t enough; this will require some graphics before it’s called ready to go. But it should be going to prereaders this weekend, at least. I’ve given the first half of it to Silentwoodfire and AJ_Aficionado, who have given it their thumbs-up thus far. The chapter will be almost entirely about the Battle of Harness Hill, and thus will be titled that as
Rated “WHYRTY—Why haven’t you read this yet?” Thanks, Paul Asaran!

Though I made some additions and edits, and will probably make a few more during this weekend's editing passes, the chapter belongs to Denim_Blue, so he gets to write the author's note and reply to comments on it. I'm very lucky to have a pair of prereaders who have contributed to the story not just with edits and comments, but by offering up their species headcanon for the story's use--AJ_Aficionado for the thestrals, and Denim_Blue for the Changelings. It's time for the latter to take center
I know I promised a new Firefly chapter first for New Years, and then this weekend, but it remains not quite ready. What's taking so long, you ask? Well, an image is worth 1000 words:
The new Firefly chapter is coming along nicely at this point, with 5700 words down and my writing proceeding fluidly--which believe me, does not always happen. It's always nice when it does, though. The working title is Redemption and Retreat, and will open with a section written from the point of view of a pony not heard from yet in this story--Blindside. Depending on how quickly I get it done, including making musical selections and some additional graphics in addition to
I feel better. I think I can be productive again today. I'm going to take care of some things that have piled up now, then see about getting some writing done. I'll be at a con all weekend, so I have to write a complete chapter of "A Storm on the Horizon of the Arcane World" for Sunday.
Alright guys, so here's the deal.
Two weeks until my only end-of-year test for Economics/Government. I'm feeling rather confident about it, especially since it's the only one I have to take this year. I'll be gone for the majority of that day (April 10th) while I'm off testing, and I imagine the three days or so surrounding that I won't be very active on here for that reason alone.
Less than a year ago I made a plan as I exited therapy all bright, sunshine, and rainbows that had a list of symptoms I needed to watch out for in case I ever needed to go to therapy again.
Well suffice to say I ignored that shit like a plate of deviled eggs (I hate deviled eggs).
Today is June 8th! I created this account exactly three years ago, making this my three year anniversary on Fimfiction.net. In my previous blog, I talked how I discovered, and subsequently joined the fandom, so this little story picks off from right there.
And whoa, was it EVER worth the wait! Revelations aplenty, and a conspiracy unravels as Phoenix solves the mystery of the Helios-6 incident and uncovers the true mastermind behind a murder, clearing both his client of the crime and his client's brother of complicity in the deaths of twenty soldiers. Move over Manfried von Karma, Chief Damon, Matt Engarde and Dahlia Hawthorne, for I promise you will NEVER love to hate an Ace Attorney villain as badly as this one.
I'm around, but in pain.
Last Friday, I had a minor medical procedure called Radiofrequency Ablation--basically involving microwaving the back of my tongue under partial sedation. The purpose of it is to cause the internal tissues of the tongue to tighten by basically roasting them, helping to open the airway--I'm still suffering a bit of obstructive sleep apnea even after the jaw advancement surgery I had a couple years ago.
The T-Rated version of The Lawyer and The Unicorn has been released. Nine chapters are now posted, and I plan to release one new chapter a day from here on out.
Fluttercheer here, with an important service announcement. What you will read here is something I wasn't originally going to write, but since I'm silent here for about two and a half weeks now, I figured it will be best if I tell what's going on to inform my followers and the few, brave diehards who read Aegis.
It currently stands at 8500 words and will likely be over 10k when all is said and done. For that reason, I’m considering splitting it into two parts to give the climactic third section its own chapter and focus, same as I did for the Blossomforth/Cloud Kicker scene. We’ll see what my prereaders say on that score. If so, I’d simply release the two halves a couple days apart, and don’t worry; the second section has some sexytimes of its own!
Well I already talked about my Equestria Girls waifu, why not talk about my just plain Equestria waifu?
I'm sure everyone has an opinion on what I should write next as we go forward into the New Year. On the one wing, I just left Firefly off on a massive cliffhanger after introducing a major new character, who will become the face of the Equestrian Army during the war. On the other, Midnight Rising remains to be updated, and I know my newest followers are anxious for news about when I'll be
I think I've figured things out for the issue I mentioned in the last blog post, though this chapter will only represent the first part of the setup for what is coming. Currently coming in at 9632 words, the chapter will launch as soon as prereads are in and I can make some musical selections. In the meantime, have a preview, told from Firefly's perspective:
EAS Loyalty
Cloudsdale
Central District Airship Anchorage
Titled When Friendships Falter, AJA and I have completed collaboration on it. It’s now in the hands of our other two prereaders, Silentwoodfire and Silverblade5.
What this means is it will launch as scheduled on September 1st, and it currently musters a healthy 10.3k words. It’s time to hear from the Highborne again, and learn what happens when an equally infuriated Fell Flight and Firefly come to blows over Gavian and Thunderbolt. Here, have a teaser:
