Flight of Firefly continues... · 9:10pm Aug 27th, 2019
Let me start by saying the last chapter release was a roaring success, with a long-lived visit to the feature list, resulting in five new likes spread across both Firefly stories. The original Before the Storm is now closing in on the 300-like milestone, and I'll have an announcement for when it crosses it. So a warm welcome to new readers, with my great thanks for all the upvotes and comments. Can't say enough how much getting good feedback drives authors to create more!
But we're not done yet. Thanks in large part to my roster of guest authors, work is well underway on Chapter 19. AJ_Aficionado is writing a whole section, and there's a possibility of adding one from Denim_Blue as well... or that might be retained as a separate chapter entirely; I haven't decided yet. Regardless, the plan remains to release the latest chapter on the two-year anniversary of the story, which is Sunday, September 1st. Good timing, as Sunday mornings have typically been good times for me to feature.
The title of the new chapter is, as of now, "Night and Day", which should give you some idea of the subject matter. It's time for the thestrals to be heard from; some of you might recall I released a teaser along those lines some months ago. But the bat-ponies are NOT a single state or culture; they have their own major tribal divide. The new chapter will draw heavily on the headcanon and lore of AJ_Aficionado's vision of them, which he's explored in his own stories. Those of you who have read Nightmare Night already have some idea of it.
No teaser this time, but expect a glimpse into the society and internal politics/debates of the thestral nation, who will have a major role to play in the story and war ahead--I don't think that's a spoiler since their involvement has been pretty much a given since the introduction of Fell Flight! Suffice it to say, they have some major and rather difficult decisions to make with regards of who to support in this war, treaty with Celly or no. The problem is, those decisions are going to be forced upon them sooner rather than later...
I've been waiting for the Thestrals for some time now, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how they play into this whole situation
