When Twilight Sparkle slipped beneath the covers last night, everything had been fine. She had friends whom she loved, a teacher she adored, and a bright future ahead of her. But when she woke up, her blankets and quilts had been replaced by hospital gowns and padded restraints.

Everything is wrong and nothing makes sense; even her friends have changed. The doctors keep telling her that she is sick, that none of it was real and that it was all in her head. Yet she remembers a life far beyond the hospital walls. She couldn't have made it all up on her own. They must be lying… right?

Today seems like yet another fun, joy-filled day of teaching all the little growing ponies of Ponyville for the ever-cheerful Cheerilee.

Unfortunately, coherency, logic and physics are having a sick day and aren't attending her class. Will Cheerilee survive the day? Or will she go mad with all the chaos? Will Scootaloo stop falling limp every time she's touched? Only one way to find out!

(A/N: The product of a conversation between my brother and I, with a healthy dose of watching too many Garry's Mod movies, this fiction is definitely not meant to be taken seriously in the slightest. The cover image is from the MLP wiki.)

Lyra just wants a simple life.

She wants to live in her cozy cottage in Ponyville with her roomate, best friend and crush Bon Bon, playing the lyre whenever she wants, studying her unusual hobby of non-pony sentient creatures, where the biggest threat to her life is when a string breaks, the biggest challenge to her life is what to have for lunch, and the biggest mystery is whether Bon Bon likes her the same way.

Unfortunately the universe doesn't want to give her the privelege, it seems.

Whether dealing with supernatural mysteries, fighting demons and vampires, trying to get a cult off her tail, avoiding the chaos of Ponyville life, traversing alternate worlds, or handling the widespread destruction caused by giant alien creatures and/or robots, all that Lyra wants in her crazy life is a break. And maybe a slice of pie.

Twilight's in some pretty deep trouble. It's bad enough that she put on a lot of weight, really let her mane go, and seems to have picked up a bad habit of chewing on anything. No, that really doesn't compare with the claws that have replaced her hooves, the fact that she can stand up to about 25 meters tall, breathes fire, and had an involuntary species reassignment spell cast on her.

Mostly thanks to Trixie, looking for means to prove herself the more powerful of the two, they've both found their ponyhood lacking due to a transformation into dragons by the Bag of Tirek. Worse yet, Trixie has fallen to his corrupting influence, and become his new lieutenant in the world, preparing to release him from his adamantium tomb.

Now, it is up to Twilight and her friends, and anypony else they can drag kicking and screaming into the fight to catch Trixie and save her from her from the taint that has corrupted her, and that threatens to corrupt the world. A tall order, to be sure; but when the odds becomes so great, the fight needs to go big, lest ponykind go extinct.
