Sunset was enjoying her day, going through school as she was expected to do, when she's suddenly called to the Principal's office.

Confused, but with little choice in the matter, she answers, heading to Celestia's office. There, she finds the Principal sitting, wanting to have a chat.

Sunset was not prepared for anything like this.

Sunset Shimmer has a visitor who claims to have good news. However, it isn't what she expects.

This was originally a short drabble that got a little out of hand.

After so many years, Sunset Shimmer is finally ready to return to Equestria. At long last, she will be able to reconnect with the land she was born in and feel the magic flow through her body once more. Most of all, she’s ready to face the mentor she betrayed, to apologize for everything and beg for her forgiveness.

Princess Celestia is eager to see her old prodigal student as well. Finally, she will have the chance to forgive her and reaffirm her love for her. What’s more, she will finally be able to give Sunset Shimmer what she has earned for herself and fulfill all the dreams she had since she was a filly.

At least, that’s how it was supposed to go.

After Twilight destroyed her utopia of equal ponies, Starlight knew she would strike back. And now, she's ready. Her plan is flawless; sublime, even. She will make Twilight regret the day she ever crossed paths with her. She even has a dramatic entrance planned for maximum effect.

Starlight Glimmer has been forgiven and accepted by the elements of harmony, but she still hasn't been forgiven or accepted by herself. She takes a walk through ponyville to finally face her inner demons, and to find inner peace.

Twilight Sparkle finds out that apparently a certain pony doesn't consider it a big deal that they are related to the famous wizard Starswirl the bearded and Twilight tries to convince them otherwise.

Sunset Shimmer looked at the note again, though she could barely read it. "Midnight, CHS football field, be there, alone." No clue who'd sent it. No idea why. Total mystery why she'd even shown up.

But she was the curious type.
