`Scootaloo hung her head glumly, her right fore-hoof absently drawing an indistinguishable pattern on the wood of her desk. Her purple eyes drifted wistfully to one of the windows. The sun was shining and a light breeze was blowing, a perfect day to be out.

But she was stuck here.

With both of her friends sick one day from school, Scootaloo has to find somepony else to hang out with. Terrible taunts, slimy spitballs and errant TV quotes ensure.

All Scootaloo wants in life are three things. To get her cutie mark, to receive attention from her new sister-figure Rainbow Dash, and to learn how to fly. After failing at all of these, namely due to Rainbow Dash's relationship with Thunderlane, she's about to give up hope when she discovers a large, white pegasus stallion with wings smaller than her own.

The only thing is, he can actually fly.

Scootaloo is a filly who's had a lot of ups and downs in her life, especially for somepony so young. She knows the meaning behind a lot of words regarding emotion, because she's felt them - deep down. Loneliness, confusion, wonder and happiness. And so, for once, an assignment won't feel so much like actual work, even if she has to do it over the holiday...

Takes place after the episode "Keep Calm and Flutter On" while Fluttershy believes that Discord is truly reformed, Rainbow Dash remains skeptical.

Edit: I have fixed most of the spelling and grammar errors that I could find and extended the story a bit so, hopefully it'll make a bit more sense.

Babs enjoys a game of horseshoes before she has to leave Ponyville and put her lessons on bullying to use. But Scootaloo surprises the city filly when she opens up about some bullies who went beyond cutie marks. Can Babs reach out to her pal or has Scootaloo shared more than the new Cutie Mark Crusader can handle?

Scootaloo comes to Sweet Apple Acres looking for Apple Bloom, but instead finds Applejack who decides to teach her a little bit about apple farming, and, perhaps, just a little bit about life.

After a bad breakup Sunset decides to hit the bottle, but that's the thing about hitting the bottle, it hits back. But the Bottle hitting back is probably a blessing in disguise since she wakes up to a pleasant surprise.
