Hey, Everyone!
I pre-wrote most of this blog so I could post it when the time came. Please do read below the break—it’s extremely important!
For those of you that didn’t know, I’ve been in the hospital since early June waiting for a heart and kidney transplant. The wait has been a bitch, and while I figured I would have a lot of time to work on DaD, writer’s block has had a firm grip on me. Combine that with seriously sapped energy, and I’ve gotten very little writing done while I’ve been here.
However, I’m happy to say that my donor organs are now here! I should be going into the O.R. within the next six hours, so any good vibes would be much appreciated. The surgery will take a long time, since it’s one transplant (heart first), then stabilization time, and then the next transplant (kidney). There is a SLIM chance that when I get to the O.R. that they may cancel the surgery if something happened to one of the organs in transit to the hospital, and if that does happen, I’ll post another blog later tonight, but if you don’t see anything within the next… let’s say 10 hours from now, then I’ll be on the operating table.
When I come out of surgery, I likely won’t be able to sign back in here for at least a few days for my body’s initial recovery period. When I’m coherent enough, though, I’ll try to post a blog to let you all know that I’m doing alright. It’ll likely be VERY short.
I’m very confident in the surgeons’ abilities, but I’ll bet there are some of you wondering… GOD FORBID something goes wrong and I don’t make it out of surgery, somebody—you likely know who—does have access to my notes for the rest of A Daughter and her Dragon, along with what’s already written for the next and later chapters that I’ve written ahead of time. I recall in one of my blogs that I said the story won’t die unless I do, and I’m sticking to that. But even if I do, I’m confident the story will reach its end in someone else’s hands.
As always, I want to thank all of you for your loyal readership. Hopefully I’ll be back up and running in a few weeks. Maybe I’ll get some writing inspiration while I’m under the knife.

Stealing some of LD's thunder here, but I know he won't be on for a while thanks to recovery, but... RECOVERY!
Stage one is complete... heart transplant had a few problems, but over all doctors are positive. Kidney transplant is currently underway.
I will keep people abreast as new information comes out!

He's just been in to have the machine that assists the heart out, as he's doing well enough without it. He is going through recovery and rehab to give him the best chance for recovery. He is off of medication to stabilize his BP, so that is super great!
Still waiting on the kidney transplant surgery, but yeah, it's looking great!
