    Chapter 56 Promo!

In an isolated, abnormally large, hollowed-out tree might not be the typical abode for megalomaniacal n'ere-do-wells. Though, there was a reason both of them had opted for current accommodations over the typical kingdoms and castles, in one form or another. The area was absolutely inundated with dark magic. From the eerie glow that some of the plants gave off, to traces of black aerenth crystals

What follows is debatable Canon in a certain timeline

======================
2000, Terra, Janjira Plant
======================

Ripping through the building to reach for his prize, Godzilla ignored the alarm sirens and panicking hordes of people spilling out of the nuclear plant. Sensing the energy abounding from it, he plucked out the reactor cores one after another. The Tyrant King of the Monsters hissed as he drained each core dry, feeling a rush of energy flowing through his veins that ignited his back spines. Tilting his head up to regard the fleeing crowds, Godzilla Junior saw not a single military member in their ranks. They were absolutely no threat to him.

Godzilla cracked a bloodthristy grin as he took aim, burning lights seething out from between his fangs.

Like that mattered.

The reactors drained and the surrounding half mile burned to glass, Godzilla turned around strode back to the sea. Diving in and swimming his way to Solgell, he didn’t know nor cared that he was irradiating a trail of seawater as he went. Sholes of plankton, several schools of fish, and several sharks; either too slow or too oblivious to get out of the way were fatally irradiated and had the mercy of dying within minutes. A curtain of dead sea life sunk to the depths and blanketed the seafloor.

It got someone’s attention, and they started to wake up.

Settled upon the depths of the deep seafloor, a living mountain began to stir to life. Something had changed. And that change was close. Lifting off a shower of sediments and marine volcanic ash that had accumulated on top of him, the ancient made his way through the pitch black depths and started enroute to a recently risen island chain. The Mu Island’s rising had gotten his attention, but the mobile radiation source that had swam over him and to the isle had gotten his decision. Nature was out of balance, and the Alpha Predator, the legendary Gojira, would correct it.

Tracking the radiation to Solgell, Gojira made landfall to a tidal wave of surf and earthquakes by footstep. It didn’t take long for him to spy his quarry. It resembled him to a degree, but not to the extent Gojira thought it to be another of his kind. It looked weak, some young punk too bold for its own good. The differences were obvious, it being slightly shorter in stature and different in stance. It also lacked his armor plating and all of his bulk, instead sporting oversized back spines. It looked weak. Still, prey was prey. Gojira sucked in a breath and let out a titanic roar that shook the island shore to shore, far more than loud enough for the Godzilla a kilometer away to hear it.

Having been in telepathic contact with her associate despite being all the way at Birth Island, Battra Lea had heard the roar loud and clear. She chirped and fanned her wings, taking to the air and heading for Solgell.

Godzilla Junior swung his head around and glared at the interruption. For a moment he thought it to be another of his kind and he eagerly considered an offer for an alliance. While a cruel soul, he nevertheless did wish to share his power. After all if they were the top of the food chain, unaccountable by any, more in number would secure that role. And with his father dead and idiot of a brother throwing his lot in with the humans before meeting his apparent demise, it was only he and Lea against DesGhidorah. But the manner Gojira presented himself after Godzilla barked back at him neutrally told Junior there would be no such plans. The newcomer looked like many things, large, strong, dangerous, and hungry. Godzilla knew he was looking at a hungry apex predator, one who was confident it could kill him. Instantly the crazed theropod’s expression changed from neutrality to crazed joy.

Good.

Slamming his tail down, Godzilla returned Gojira’s display with a thundering roar of his own. He always did like to destroy something after a meal and the whole of Janjira wasn’t enough.

Godzilla and Gojira sized each other up for a few moments longer before kicking off and shaking the strata of the earth with every step. The head on collision was so great that the shockwave shooting out of it flattened trees in a hundred meter fan on either side. They struggled for a time, Gojira actually surprised the smaller kaiju was able to hold him back. But, sheer mass helped tip the scales and Gojira’s extra 20,000 tons of bulk broke the tie and Gojira shoved Godzilla back. Wisely choosing to dive out of the way to avoid being crushed by a body slam, Junior ducked to the side and slashed his claws along the ancient kaiju’s torso and stomach. Multiple layers of scales and scutes kept the claws from gaining a biting purchase, instead Junior’s talons raked across the epidermis in a shower of sparks without achieving much more than scratch damage. Gojira snarled, lurching over and chomping down on Godzilla’s shoulder. Bound up in a flurry of slashes, bites, kicks, and wrestling, the two titans mauled each other. But soon enough the difference in durability became obvious. Whereas Godzilla was soon riddled in claw and bite wounds, Gojira’s armor was saving him from taking any real damage. Failing to chomp through the armor on Gojira’s wrist, but managing to score his first actual hit by crunching down on the limb and fracturing the bone beneath; Godzilla’s success was very short lived. Gojira swung his shoulder around and threw the mutation off, turning around and bringing his massive tail into play.

The enormous mass and velocity of the tail swing sent rivers of pain into the shrieking Godzilla’s body. The first blow dislocating his right shoulder with the follow up breaking half his ribs. Sent hurtling back from the hit, Godzilla fell back into the mountainside. Reopening his eyes, he glimpsed the distant but distinct image of Battra hovering in the sky above the island. His body wrought with pain, Junior didn’t know if she had just arrived and was about to swoop in to help, or if she had been watching him get pummeled. He didn’t care.

Igniting his spines, Godzilla fired out a torrent of his sapphire blue plasma beam at the sky directly in front of Battra. Whether she was coming to help or seeing if he was fit to carry his crown or not, he wanted her to stay out of this. Battra, at first recoiling in surprise, chirped and obeyed to stay where she was.

Gojira paused his advance and sneered as the injuries across Godzilla’s body mended themselves in seconds. Stoically popping his shoulder back into place, Godzilla Junior curled his lips back and roared before launching himself head first into the counter attack. Throwing himself onto Gojira, the older kaiju was able to keep his footing after stumbling back but now had an enraged Godzilla pounce on top of him. They resumed their fight with tooth and claw, which always resulting in Gojira’s favor. But every time he threw the battered and bleeding Godzilla down, the younger kaiju would just stubbornly hurl himself back into the fray. Gojira’s armor and Godzilla’s regeneration kept the fight going on for minutes at a time without significant damage to either party.

Until Junior, half blinded from the blood in his eyes and unable to cut through Gojira’s dense scutes mounted on his torso and limbs, swung wildly and hit Gojira in the neck gills. The swing dug into the gill covered flesh and ripped up, prying off several large scales and eliciting a shriek of pain from Gojira. Blood trickled down from his throat, the enraged ancient grabbing and hurling Godzilla to the ground and stomping on him. But a set of broken ribs didn’t to much to deter Godzilla, like a shark he smelled the first blood and went into a frenzy. In a show of his own goliath strength, Junior grabbed Gojira by the foot and lifted the 80,000 ton kaiju off him and tossed him over. Gojira didn’t have a second to hit the ground before Junior was already on him, clawing, punching, and biting down on his gills. This time he was actually doing damage and Gojira’s groan and roars of pain showed it.

Still, the Alpha Predator wasn’t one to let pain halt him. Rolling over as a glow trailed up from his tail spines across the rest of his back, Gojira smashed his head and torso into Godzilla in a strong shove to force him back. Just as he was about to lunge back into the fray, Godzilla’s form was engulfed in a neon blue brilliance. Gojira’s nuclear breath washed over the smaller kaiju like napalm from a flamethrower. Powering through the fact he was being burned from face to toe, Godzilla roared through the onslaught as his own spines ignited; throwing his head forward and returning fire. His plasmatic breath raked across Gojira’s side and chest, managing to burn through several sets of scales and gouge into the skin below. Undeterred while still under fire, Gojira closed his jaws and charged forward despite Godzilla’s onslaught. Nuclear flames flicking out of his jaws, Gojira tackled and grabbed Godzilla by the throat. The Alpha Predator dragged Junior across the ground and up the mountainside. Smashed into the bedrock, Godzilla yelped in pain and cut off his beam. His spines still glowing, Gojira grabbed Godzilla’s jaws and spread them so wide he popped the smaller kaiju’s jaw out of socket. Sucking in his breath, the ancient kaiju threw open his own jaws in a growl before firing his blue flames down Godzilla’s throat. The kiss of death went on unopposed.

Godzilla flailed and thrashed to try and free himself, shrieking in agony as the flames poured in. But soon enough, his struggles weakened before falling slack. Gojira stopped his assault, still holding onto Godzilla’s smoking head as he roared in victory to the heavens. Nature had been rebalanced and he had reasserted his role as the apex. He’d soon turn his attention to the chirping kaiju flying above and deal with that threat as well.

Or least he would have had a pair of charred, still burning arms not grabbed onto him. Godzilla’s talons gripped Gojira by his throat as their owner’s back spines burst back to brilliance. An enormous beam of plasma, the blue now circled by spiralling red, shot out of Godzilla Junior’s jaws and down Gojira’s throat in a reversal of his own signature move. Gojira roared in torment, vaporized blood shooting out from his gills as his face and throat were scorched. Godzilla’s own roar returned his. The Alpha Predator had made a grave mistake. His brute force and breath’s raw heat might have been able to overpower the smaller kaiju’s regeneration eventually, but spewing that same radiation down Godzilla’s throat, right into his nuclear heart had done the exact opposite. Rage and his might screaming back to life, Godzilla’s entire body flashed with light before a nuclear pulse shockwave flew out of him and ripped across Gojira’s body and blasted him back.

Rolling across the ground and clawing his way to his feet, Gojira had enough strength to meet the charging Godzilla’s onslaught head on. But unlike last time, the tables had drastically turned. Gojira was old, as ancient as the Permian. He had been at his peak long ago and was now starting to slow down in his assault. Godzilla Junior was in his prime and was unleashing every he had at his foe. Gojira’s armor could only withstand so much before it began to get torn, blasted, or melted off; whereas Godzilla wasn’t letting ruptured skin nor broken bones stop him. For the first time in eons, Gojira was losing.

A close range beam assault of blue encircled by red blasted off most of Gojira’s body armor and sent him tumbling over the steep side of the mountain. Rolling to the valley below, the battered predator struggled to his feet. He spotted the sea in the distance and limped towards it, groaning with each pained step to try and get back to the sea. Back to the depths to heal and survive like he always had. He didn’t see Godzilla following him from the plateau above. The Tyrant King’s power surge had faded and he was wrought with injuries, but if Junior was anything he was determined. This beast had intruded upon his territory and denied the chance to join him. He wasn’t going to let it leave this island alive.

Godzilla’s eyes glimmered with a cruel intelligence as he got an idea. His spines were larger and sharper than his foes, might as well use them. Charging to the edge of the plateau Gojira was limping under, Junior took his bearings. Too low on power to use a big enough charge to hurt Gojira, Godzilla fired his beam instead at the rock face halfway down the the plateau. The quick beam begot an explosion of earth, thousands of tons worth of boulders raining down on Gojira and causing him to fall. Having stumbled over, the ancient had just managed to start rising back up when 60,000 tons of kaiju fell on him, point first.

Several weeks later, Godzilla Junior was sighted on long range sonar dropping something off the shore of G-Force headquarters before DesGhidorah’s arrival could chase him off. Minding the radiation, an ROV robot was deployed with a camera to inspect what he’d left behind. In the depths of the sea, slumped over on the edge of the continental shelf, was a massive, fresh, but heavily burned kaiju skeleton. One of the largest ever, it was mostly intact despite being riddled with teeth marks that matched those of Godzilla. The only part of it missing was the head from the lower neck up. Instead, the broken off tip of one of Godzilla Junior’s dorsal spins was lodged in the vertebrate. DesGhidorah later took the skeleton to give it a proper burial.

On the mirrored world of Terra, where a cruel biologist begot an equally cruel monstrosity, the tyrant had defended his claim to the throne.

=======================================

Now before I get pitchforks and torches thrown my way, Gojira in the main universe is alive and well. This was made for several reasons. One, as a lead up to the Sound of Thunder finale to show just what the heroes are up against, this version of Godzilla Junior is nothing to kid around about. He's not a whiny, overconfident brat or a sniveling coward, he's lethal. Secondly, the origins of Mirror!Junior getting the spiral fire but not the main timeline's Junior, got it from raiding power plants and absorbing Gojira's power. Thirdly, a retort to several people stating, bragging, or in one case smugly boasting how Gojira would easily kill off my version of Godzilla; going to the length of sending me hate mail demanding I replace the kaiju in my story with their preferred version*. And lastly, me 'giving in' to demands to vent some steam. The Amalgam'verse isn't for everyone and can be improved. I understand that entirely and enjoy constructive differences of opinion or criticism. What I do not enjoy is bashing and hate mail that's pretty much nothing but insults, both to my and my friends' work and to ourselves, and then making very rude demands. Having a differing opinion is perfectly fine and healthy. If you think I can do something better somehow, let me know. Just know that if I disagree with you, busting out the expletives and insults isn't going to change my mind. It's uselessly hating on what I and others have done demand I change what I and others have made, instead of going off to the dozens of other G-fan projects doing exactly what they are wanting and doing it better than I ever could. If you want a dark and grim Batman, just go watch The Dark Knight and don't complain about Adam West existing. If you want a dark and grim Godzilla, I know my story probably won't be an interest to you so I'll point you in the direction of some great G-fan projects you'll probably like more. But, let's say I'll play your game and do your demands, just with a catch.

You want a more bloodthristy Godzilla? You got it, in a mirror'verse~!

You want G'2014 to come and kick the ass of the Bridge!Godzilla? You got it, he's just not going to always be doing the ass-kicking~!

You demand I give downer ending, cynical tones, and kill off kaiju rather than preserve them for a larger roster? Here yah go, I'll just not do it the exact way you whined for.

In other words, I'm trolling you now and not doing it in the way you wanted, giving you the opposite result to what was wanted.

As for anyone who doesn't like this outcome, don't worry I am not "giving into demands" again. And, since this is 'iffy' canon, you can disregard this if you wish and just take it as a sign of how dangerous Mirror!Junior is. Gojira and Godzilla Jr. (and Zilla jr. for that matter) have met in the official canon for the main timeline, and the end result was much more typical of the other stuff in this crossover. I am very thankful for the people who can state their difference of opinion civilly and am always happy to entertain you folks. Seriously, the little fanbase my co-creators and I have cultivated is the best I could ever ask for. Love you guys and gals.

Sincerely, Grendelson

*And if a certain DA artist is reading this, I am not putting you in this crowd. You keep doing what you like buddy. This is also not a slam on 'Arrogance of Man', which uses the 2014 look. Or the 2014 movie itself, I loved it.

Rest in Peace Legendary Goji. You fought hard :fluttercry:

Wow, ya know, I KNEW Gojira was going to lose the entire time, but I just could not help myself and cheer for him anyways....

Too bad the humans there can't make a Mecha Godzilla out of his corpse like Kiryu.
(Btw is Mecha Godzilla offically supposed to be one word or two?)

3821183
Bad guy wins

3821210 I've seen it spelled both ways, but usually its one word for trademark purposes.

3821206 Rest in Piece... Unless they use him for Kiryu

3821229 Ooooooooooh snap! :pinkiehappy:

3821229 Thanks for the clarification!

3821234 Yah sorry to do this, I made this both to explain what happened to G'14 in this world, and as a retort to something.

3821239 It's all good. It was a good read and it does lead to some interesting possibilities in this universe.

3821265 Still got the Mirror World's heroes. Can't have M!Junior die yet or else Sound of Thunder would make no sense. Some people are suggesting Gojira might come back as this world's Kiryu. Could happen. But, this is a downer ending.

This is also to show a big contrast between the two versions of Godzilla. In the main timeline, the Junior shaped by a kindly Azusa knows mercy and figures out a situation that ends with no fatalities. In this timeline, we got a Junior shaped by a cruel Azusa who's just as cruel and the situation begins and ends with someone losing their metaphorical and then literal head.

Besides, the three or so people stating, or in one case very rudely bragging on my tumblr box, how G'14 would 'totally kill Junior easily' didn't give Junior a chance for payback now did they?

(Sigh) I guess I shouldn't be surprised. As strong as Gojira is, Godzilla's nuclear abilities give him just enough of an edge to pull ahead, especially if the wielder is an utter brute of a monster.
Still, that does leave the normal world's Gojira in an unknown fate. We'll have to cover that together at some point Tarb.

Well.......that just happened. Hope he fared much better in the regular universe than he did here.

That was a cool Godzilla vs Godzilla fight

3821372
3821331
3821282
3821206
3821210

Added a blurb to the end you might wanna read.

Goddamn, that was quick!

3821442 Don't worry Tarb. I didn't feel offended by your statement. Personally, I think the fight between the two Kaiju could go either way. Plus, the age factor of Gojira could pose a bit of a problem once against Junior. Stay strong against the hate and the whining!

3821462 Probably because of the brisker pace and lack of extra scenes before, during, and after the fight. Compounded together the actual fight is around 1,900 words, which is actually around the same length as most G-fandom brawls. I was actually testing out your statement (and not in a bad way mind you) of your two most recent reviews, where you said the action felt a bit slowed down due to all the details. This was me removing most of said individual details and seeing what I looked like.

3821442 I sincerely apologize if I sounded like a hater, What I meant to say was that the out come of who would win the battle due to the Sound of Thunder story. I also added the Kiryu part as a after thought, knowing that that situation would be very unlikely to occur.

In short, sorry!

3821486 Oh no, don't worry about that at all! I draw a big difference between a hater and someone with a difference of opinion. You were firmly in the latter category and I always love the input. It's when said input is layered with spouting insults to my and my friends' work, insulting me personally, and bashing my characters and choices that I get miffed. You and anyone else posting here has done no such thing.

3821492 Oh, glad I didn't piss you off then!

3821504 Trust me, takes a lot to piss me off.

I wonder if you are going to add Godzilla 2014 ( or legendary Godzilla) in a separate story. That would be cool :pinkiehappy:

I for one, am very happy with this outcome. I personally feel that 2014 Godzilla is painfully overrated in terms of power(him surviving a nuke when he eats radiation isn't impressive) and seeing him get wrecked here was a welcome change. Only thing I take issue with is how both of their atomic breaths were doing so much damage, but I guess there is precedent since MG2's plasma grenade was also reflected energy and it was owning the crap out of Fire Rodan and Godzilla.

I had a feeling that Mirror! junior was going to emerge victorious in this battle, but I still expected that Gojira would put up a good fight. My assumption as to how Mirror! junior had gained the ability to add that extra red energy to his beam was simply a side effect from absorbing the radiation of Mirror! Senior.

3821481

I was actually referring to how you mentioned a 'renewed vigor' for finishing this tale.

I liked this little side story. Since this is a side story, taking place in an even more obscure dimension of The Bridge, I think it's perfectly acceptable to keep it on the shorter and sweet side. Like a one-shot comic, instead of a 5-parter. I think the biggest factor in my critique about the combat detail, is that the last few chapters involved humanoid martial arts. Animalistic violence is very visceral, (with the clawing of the face, and biting of the neck, fer-glavin!) And I would say that the former is just more intricate than the other.
I appreciate that that probably sounds really nit-picky, but my approach is that you should write what you see (visualize). It just happens to be a precarious creature. I appreciate that you gave thought to my comments, and decided to experiment a little. I fully endorse an author exploring different types of story formats, and narrative styles. However I would never want you to change what you want to do, just because I bring it up, (not that I'm persuaded that you would anyway).
Anyways, I like the way you portrayed the old cowboy Gojira, against the young and virile gangster Godzilla, classic gimmick. The implied violence in the victory was a nice surprise, not only for it's clever choice, but because I could visualize the action like I was watching it, or seeing it in a comic. The ending withe the gnawed-on skeleton was cool, and the missing head a nice homage to G14.
Onward I say, Onward to the next issue of TALES OF THE AMALGAMVERSE!

orig02.deviantart.net/93f0/f/2016/082/8/0/4905745_by_rmc1618-d9w7x58.jpg

I shall accept this as Mirror canon.
Stinks that you get demands like that. Granted I also want to see my favorite Kaijus characterized with your writing style. But people can still be polite.

Then again this IS the internet, sometimes it feels like you are a Seaking in an ocean full of Magikarp.

I can't believe how idiotic the haters can be.

This was fun. It was obvious Mirror Junior was going to win, but Gojira had an awesome final battle.

First off that awesome!

Second who is stronger M Godzilla or Real Godzilla? Because after reading this I feel like M Godzilla might win.

Man, Tarbtano, I don't understand why they would think 2014 Godzilla was better than yours. Especially since that movie sucked, I mean Godzilla only got 5 minutes of screen time out of the entire movie.

And thus we see how evil Mirror Junior is. Nice work. Definitely an awesome fight scene.

3821694
If early on in the 2000s, Mirror!Junior would probably win due to more raw power. Now that its the 2010s, might be a bit more even as Main timeline Junior is more skilled and has better control over his powers, so better stamina and he wouldn't emit waste radiation like Gojira did with is attack by concentrating them so their wouldn't be anything for Mirror!Junior to feed off of. So if they fought now all out, it be a toss up on who'd win.

3821694 I believe he's answered that elsewhere: Mirror Godzilla is stronger physically, but Prime Godzilla is more SKILLED.

IE, both are utter beasts by Kaiju standards, but Mirror Godzilla has more strength while Prime Godzilla has more fighting skill.

Honestly, I imagine Prime Godzilla would win in a fight simply because skill more often than not trumps pure strength.

3821442 Just read it, and you don't have anything to worry about from me. Because i respect what decisions you make in your story, and i often enjoy all of the things you've done before. You do a great job already, so what point is there in griping? Assuming i did, which i would never do because of how disrespectful it is. Though i know you don't, i just hope you don't think i would ever be one of those whiny, demanding fanboys. I would rather kill, or at least hurt myself, before i ever did such a thing. Just keep doing what you've always done, and i'll keep supporting you until the end, as your friend and follower.:)

You know, Tarbtano, the fandom needs more people like you.

Most people would have Gojira get curbstomped to vent their frustration and spit in their hater's faces.

You instead use the MIRROR ones, have Gojira put up one heck of a fight (and could've possibly WON if he knew Godzilla was another radiation eater like him) for your take that.

That and I'm assuming Prime Gojira is a buddy of Prime Junior, given what you said, which I think is probably a take that at the haters in and of itself.

I tip my hat to you, sir, you are much better than a lot of people are.

Also, I love ALL versions of Godzilla, so an excuse to have multiple different versions occupying the same universe as a-okay by me.

3821771
Thanks buddy. I hate boasting, but kind words like your's always give me a grin. And as a fan of the 2014 movie (saw it early-premiere night at the same theater I saw G2k in and loved it), I would definitely try to have some better tack on who gets killed than pointless ragers. If someone dies in my works, I'll almost never do it for shock value and try to give them a big send off. Last thing I'd do is make a kaiju losing their last fight go out like a whimp.

And if it gives you a smile, I do plan to do the full canon meet up between Main'verse Gojira and "the Juniors". There was a fight, but all three survived in good standing. In fact the reason it ended was probably Gojira breaking it off and going back to the sea. He learned to respect Godzilla and Zilla, and saw that his role as the apex predator keeping the ecosystem in balance was in good hands. Essentially a passing of the torch because the duo proved themselves to him.

3821789 And I'm so glad to meet someone else has that mentality. Death for shock value rarely adds to a story, it's just losing a character you could use later for a quick shock.

And that sounds cool.

3821508 Good to hear. I like people who can keep a cool head in a situation where others would have flown off the handle

So are they gonna build kyru out of Gojira skeleton?

Oh wait Tyrant J already has the scar....Hmmmm.
You just may have lay the foundation for an even more powerful Mechagodzilla with a more vengeful genetic memory.

I wouldn't mind a Godzilla Jr VS Zilla Jr spar!

Though as good as this fight was, this probably should have been a curbstomp. Gojira is a big powerful dude. Godzilla Jr is Kaiju Superman/Wolverine.

*Meanwhile on Earth, a late night on 'Monster Island'...*

Gojira: ... *suddenly twitches a bit*
Godzilla Junior: *notices this and blinks* Something up, old man?
Gojira: ...Nothing...Just...Never mind, pup.
Godzilla Junior: Heh, typical old man.
Gojira: Just 'cause I'm old doesn't mean that I ain't hard of hearing, pup.

3822057

Can't tell if that's meant to be sad or silly

3822056 You can beat Godzilla Junior with brute strength if you were to constantly hit him hard enough to overpower his durability and regen. So Gojira actually did have a solid chance at winning. Problem is overpowering the durability and healing take a lot of damage and not too many kaiju can do it and those that can often don't have the stamina to keep it up long enough to count.

I wouldn't make Gojira go out like a wuss, he is plenty powerful and I'd eat my hat before I gave someone like him a bad send-off. The big deciding factor for this was Gojira's breath being both weaker and having a lot of ambient radiation for Junior to immediately absorb. The Kiss of Death basically gave him a giant adrenaline shot. Had Gojira just stuck to physically beating him to death he'd have had a better chance. Besides I thought it be a dramatic irony that the iconic finishing move did result in a kaiju's death, the one that used it.

3821954

Tis possible.

3821673
Hey, if I'm killing somebody off I ain't making them go out on a whimper XD

3821659
Good to see the final blow was well liked. We have seen Godzilla use his back spines offensively before (heck, Junior's already done so against the Gyaos), but I can't recall them ever being use as a 'finisher' move. Let alone decapitating someone. As for why I'm posting this on my blogs rather than somewhere else, it's because of my dislike for FanFic.Net's format. If I find a site I like or do decide to post on FanFic.net, I'll get to posting. Each of these is around 2,000 words anyways so they are long enough.

Just out of curiosity... how similar/different are the personalities of Main Gojira and Mirror Gojira? From what I read in both the story and the comments, it seems both share the same motivation: maintaining the balance of the world. Since most Main/Mirror parings tend to be very different in at least one significant way, I wonder how Gojira differs from his counterpart.

3822642 Well both Gojira are more or less a neutral force so their counterparts would actually be quite similar, it's just that Main!Gojira leans slightly more on neutral with some slight good leanings whereas Mirror!Gojira has some slight evil leanings. For instance, Main!Gojira doesn't notice humans much, but isn't intentionally destructive and would avoid going through buildings if in an urban area. Mirror!Gojira pays no mind at all to things smaller than him and wouldn't have a qualm about plowing through a building. I'd also say Mirror!Gojira was, for lack of better terms, a bit more 'overconfident' and quicker to the trigger. Hence why he rushed into this fight despite no knowing who Godzilla was, he just assumed he was stronger.

I'm not mad just disappointed. I understand why Godzilla Junior would be the winner even if it's the Mirrior' verse Junior. Well at least in my opinion. Although I was rooting for Legendary Godzilla(or Gojira in this story) may have have experiences but his old age got in the way, not only is junior is in his prime but if the Amalgam'verse timeline is corrected Junior is in fact "Final wars Gojira" (even though Junior isn't and the fact his design is base on 2002 design). Final wars Godzilla along with GMK Godzilla been known to be OP in their own film. Legendary Godzilla been a realistic take on the classic Godzilla design and seem to be more animistic even with the intelligent he have. Also we can only go by the film which does show how powerful he was or is in the present film. "Godzilla 2(2018)" and"Godzilla vs Kong(2020)" might show down the line what this Godzilla is capable off, but until then we can only go by both speculation and what is fact in the current film.

Beside that the part where it describe Battra Lea either trying to aids him or checking if Junior is fittable to lead , make me believe their may be mutiny in his monster crew. Which remind me of Starscream trying to take command from Megatron in the transformers series.

Like I said, This is just my opinion on the story so I could be wrong on all account. It was pretty interesting to say the least.

3823792 I actually really like the 'multiple choice' paths you could take with how Battra Lea is a part of this conflict. Was she just now showing up and was about to swoop in to help Godzilla? Had she been there awhile and was seeing who'd win, and if so was it to team up with the strongest kaiju or in hopes the winner would be weakened enough to assure her victory if she attacked? Adds some layering to the weird relationship and team dynamic she and Mirror!Junior have that's in contrast to the sibling-like affectionate friendship our lead kaiju heroine and hero have in the main timeline.

I get it so it would be like Goku vs Golden Frieza.

How would you see the strength of Mirror! Junior and mirror! Desghidorah before and after the former got his power boost?

3830988 Before DesGhidorah was in a slight lead, afterwards Godzilla was stronger though DesGhidorah could at the least hold him of for awhile or even beat him if he fought smart.

After learning about the Godzilla: Awakening, I have a question: did the battle between Gojira and Shinomura in the 1940s happen in the prime timeline?

3875242 Quite possible
