The most unexpected of updates · 9:58am Mar 5th, 2015
Hey folks,
In about 12 hours I'll be publishing an update for Salvation. Salvation is one of my most beloved stories, but I have completely failed to do it justice with regular updates. The most recent chapter before today’s was published back in May of 2014, when I was still in Afghanistan. Since then, I have:
Published the following full-length stories:
- For Whom We Are Hungry
- The Last Trumpet’s Call
- Forever Summer
- All the Mortal Remains
- What We Wanted to Do
- Reminiscent
Published the following short stories in various collections:
- The Ice and What It Holds (Lost Cities)
- The Driftwood Emperor (Lost Cities)
- The Storm (I’m Afraid of Changeling)
- Nickel-Iron-Cobalt (I’m Afraid of Changeling)
And I started work on two new long-form stories that aren’t published yet, The Apprentice Dreamer and an as-yet untitled sci-fi story.
That’s a lot of stuff between updates. Frankly, I’ve been putting off Salvation for so long because the previous arc, in Rarity’s dreams, had a rather firm and powerful ending. Coming back, trying to build on it, was intimidating. Also, I was having trouble finding a way to bridge the new story that Salvation had become with the original story and its ending.
I think I’ve solved those problems. We’re getting near the end, and aside from the March minific competition this weekend, I don’t intend to write anything else until Salvation is done. We’re getting near the end.

I can tell you I've been waiting for this update for a long time now. That reminds me to finish my own promised updates.
Thank you! Fantastic news. It is still very much at the top of my favorites list, alongside Varanus' Composure, which is much in need of being finished.
TFW authors you have a high amount of respect and admiration for, are discussing the same fears and worries that we all have, and you start to realize that your own fears weren't so silly after all.
