SPark

Not checking in here. I may post stories because my patrons are nice and like ponies. Otherwise out of the fandom, sorry peeps.

Princess Luna has always been more at home on the battlefield than in a palace. The reasons for that were left mostly unexamined, for things are what they are, so why try to fight fate? Fish do not fly, birds do not swim, and the princess of the moon cannot be anything other than what she is. But when a dream reveals that in this modern age the impossible can become reality, she begins to examine who she is in an all new light.

A story about identity, discovery, and love.

This is technically set in the same world as Over a Cardboard Sea, but the two stories are only vaguely related and you do not have to read one in order to appreciate the other. It also takes place in the same world as Either Or and shares some themes with it.

Gorgeous cover art by blankflank.

It's hard when you want two mutually exclusive things. That's the dilemma Big Mac faces, because becoming Orchard Blossom would mean giving up being Big Macintosh. Still, he can't help but wish he could somehow have both.

A very small story, just because.

This story is a sequel to Honey Pie II: The Wrath of Chrysalis

Sweetcake has come far in life. From a defeated drone, stranded alone in Canterlot, he's become the queen of a large and powerful changeling hive. And he's doing a surprisingly good job at it. He even has time left over from his royal duties to help Pinkie Pie with her parties. Unfortunately for Sweetcake, Pinkie, and the entire hive, his hive is not the only hive out there, and the others don't approve of allying with ponies. Caught between betraying his friends and the welfare of his subjects, any choice may spell disaster.

Ever since visiting the Pie farm, Big Macintosh has had rocks on his mind.

The latest episode just kind of demanded that I write this.

Thanks to Jordanis for the swift and grammatical editing!

The rising tide lifts all hearts.

(A simple exercise in mood, atmosphere, and TwiLuna shipping.)

Picture yourself on a deck on a castle
with damson plum trees and blackberry skies.
Somepony calls you, you answer quite slowly
a mare with kaleidoscope eyes.

Damask silk flowers of purple and blue
Towering over your horn.
Look for the mare with the moon in her eyes
and she's gone.

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
where grinning bat-ponies eat marbled moon pies.
Everyone smiles as you drift past the towers
that grow so incredibly high.

Newspaper taxis appear on the shore
waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the stars
and you're gone.

Picture yourself on a train in a station
with pastel-maned ponies with sparkling gem ties.
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle:
the mare with kaleidoscope eyes.

Song lyrics by The Beatles and the always-amazing Jordanis.

For centuries no one has successfully challenged the might of the Draconian Empire. They rule most of the known galaxy with a heavy, clawed fist. Yet on one small, insignificant planet, that is about to change. When Princess Luna steps into a nightmare, and onto another world, she will give the rebels something they've never had before: a chance to win. For although the dragons control the high orbitals, sending death down on the helpless world below, Luna controls the power of the moons. And it just so happens that the rebel world has four of them.

Unlike most of my work, this story comes with no promises of quality, no promises of completion, and no promises that I will listen to feedback either. I am embarking on this project solely for my own enjoyment, because I am having fun writing it. I'm posting it only because I'm sure a few of you will also have fun reading it.

When Princess Celestia asks Twilight to make an official, royal visit to Romaneia, Twilight dreads the inevitable succession of dry, boring diplomatic events. The charming Lord Bela soon wins her over, but Twilight is about to discover that all is not as it seems in Bela's apparently peaceful castle. (A story inspired by Carmilla, Dracula, and other classic vampire tales.)

Written for the BadassTwilight = Total Domination Twilight's Nightmare Halloween contest.

(Spoilers in comments.)

Spike always knew he would lose her. He just never guessed it would be so soon...

(Just something short I wrote, because for me, grief always demands that I create. Cover sketch is by me as well.)

Celestia has long been a master of the ancient art of making the perfect cup of tea. Luna, on the other hoof, follows the dark heresy of coffee. Caught between them is the newly-minted princess, Twilight Sparkle, who for some reason can't make a drinkable cup of tea no matter how hard she tries. Will Celestia be able to correct her errors and show her the way into the enlightenment of the true beverage, or will Luna win her over to the dark side at last?
