Ponies don't usually want apples this badly. Cider, sure—they'll line up for miles to get cider. But never have Applejack, Big Mac, and Granny Smith seen such a turnout for their apple stand alone.

Granny should have known better than to send the two bickering teenage foals on their own to get more inventory, but with the demand for the apples ever rising, she really had no other choice. And honestly, it would have been fine.

Pinkie Pie is the one mare who can boast claim to being everypony's friend in the town of Ponyville. She loves the ponies of Ponyville, and they love her back.

But just because they love Pinkie Pie doesn't mean they love EVERYTHING she does. And every year in the late fall, Pinkie indulges in a tradition of her own construction that has begun to wear thin on the natives of the tiny town. A tradition that involves Pinkie invading personal space, surprise attacks, and copious amount of rump slapping.

Fortunately for the ponies of Ponyville, this is the year that tradition ends.

Takes place sometime in season one during the first autumn Twilight Sparkle spent in Ponyville.

The pegasus' job in civilized Equestria is to use its weather manipulation talents to create all manners of meteorological phenomena in order to make sure everything is stable. Ponyville is small, but sometimes still requires larger storms to keep it in balance with the rest of Equestria. Huge storms with heavy grey thunderclouds, towering anvils of cloud, swirling with heavy rains and crackling with pure, almost completely wild and untamed bolts of lightning.

And those are the kind of storms Rainbow Dash loves best.
