The question of how Pinkie does all the things that she does isn't one that gets asked much in Ponyville anymore. But when Applejack finds herself dissatisfied with the fortune Pinkie gives her at the Autumn Festival, Pinkie ends up revealing more of her secrets than AJ's really comfortable knowing.

The original version of this story earned 14th place in the 97th Writeoff contest.

Applejack doesn't understand what Sunset Shimmer sees in her cousin Braeburn. But then AJ doesn't quite understand what anybody sees in anybody. Romance is nothing but trouble, she's convinced, until yet another random explosion of wild Equestrian magic helps her see the subject in a whole different light.

My entry in Oroboro's 2nd Sunset Shipping Contest, it didn't reach the top 10. The rough draft placed 13th in the 91st round of the contests at Writeoff.me, and thanks to the folks over there and to the inimitable Pascoite for comments and suggestions, both the ones I used and the ones I couldn't figure out how to make work.

While trying to help Applejack with some baking, Starlight Glimmer accidentally shatters a mixing bowl that belonged to AJ's mother. This leads to frenzied research, a discussion of the universe's fundamental nature, several whirlwind races across Ponyville, an attempted theft, and the possible creation of a new form of magic. You know: the usual.

This is the story I would've written for the July 2016 Writeoff Association contest, "The End of an Era," but I didn't get a chance to actually put it together till two weeks after the writing weekend. Many thanks to Blazzing Inferno for comments on the first draft.

Written for the Writeoff Association's 52nd contest, "In Over Your Head," this story finished in 27th place.
