The Pony of Shadows, locked up in Limbo again after being so rudely expelled from Stygian a literally unknowable amount of time ago, receives a visitor.

This was the only story entered in the 277th Writeoff contest, "Dancing Shadows," where it inspired the cover artwork created by GroaningGreyAgony. It also occurs to me that the story can serve as a prequel to a story over on my AugieDog account called "Shadow Heart."

The Spirits of Hearth's Warming Past, Presents, and Yet to Come catch up with Sludge in order to show him the true reason for the season. Sludge has no idea what they're talking about.

This story was the one and only entry in the 274th Writeoff Association contest. No one even entered a prompt, so it ended up being "TBD" by default. And since I found myself with some free time during the 24-hour writing period Christmas Eve Eve, I threw together the original version of this story. It's been greatly expanded for its appearance here.

Somepony in a Mare-Do-Well suit has taken to visiting Rarity's bedroom at night. Rarity loves every moment of it, but despite her paramour asking her not to investigate, she just can't help wondering...

I started this story with the intention of entering it in the 263rd Writeoff, "Go Steady in the Dark," back in August of 2023, but that was not to be.

Spike is the perfect assistant. He's been programmed that way, after all.

Unfortunately, he and Rarity and Twilight were programmed by Master Simon to help out around Mistress Olive's apartment before Mistress Olive kicked Master Simon out. And Mistress Olive doesn't like her assistants to have faces and names and personalities, especially when they come from some eighty-year-old cartoon show she's never heard of...

The original version of this story had no Pony content whatsoever and came in 2nd in the 247th Writeoff contest, "The Hurricane's Eye Blinked." It's been extensively rewritten since then and was now an entry in the 2023 Science Fiction contest where it didn't make the Top 12.

As far as Golden Harvest is concerned, the newlyweds who live next door are fine ponies. But Carrot Top, the mean little voice inside Harvest's head, doesn't see them quite the same way.

Written for the 221st Writeoff competition with the prompt, "The Hugs Went Away Again," the original version of this story took 2nd place. It's been extensively rewritten and expanded since then.

Dash wants to help Rarity live out her romantic fantasy. But since Dash hasn't got a romantic bone in her body, she figures she'd better call in some experts...

This was going to be my entry in the 183rd Writeoff contest, "Gone by Morning," but I barely got a handful of paragraphs written by the deadline. So when the 207th contest, "Counterfeit," came along eight months later, I got my act together and finished the story. I'm rating it "Teen" due to assorted discussions of sexuality and such.

A figment of a young woman's imagination gets some tips from Derpy.

Inspired by the cover art, a mash-up courtesy of Super Trampoline via HiMyNameIsNickel, this story took 2nd place—out of two stories entered—in the 139th WriteOff contest, "Wind and Rain" and appeared in de-Ponyfied form in December of 2020 on the Zooscape website.

Zecora welcomes Celestia and Twilight to tea with mixed feelings. Celestia, after all, was the first pony to ever call Zecora a friend, but she's also one of the few creatures who knows the truth, a truth that Zecora feels certain Celestia wants to share with Twilight...

This was going to be my entry in the 200th Writeoff contest, "Looking Back," but once again, I couldn't get it finished in time. And the cover art is by Andy Price, of course.

The relationship between Celestia and Hydia, the Queen of the Lamias, goes back quite a ways: Hydia was the first of Equestria's enemies that Celestia consigned to Tartarus instead of killing, after all.

But as the centuries roll on, their relationship changes somewhat.

This was going to be my entry in the 193rd Writeoff competition, "How the Mighty Have Fallen," but I didn't get it finished before the deadline. Then along came the My Little Pony Renaissance Contest with its theme of "Change," and, well, here we are!

Discord seems to be getting ready for a wedding. Twilight has some questions.

The original version of this story won 1st place in the 180th Writeoff contest, "Confronting the Inevitable."
