The dream chapter was actually a prominent part of the story, because it didn't just have the dream, it had the ponies side to it as well, which explains why Bridget is on a table and how the other 5 ponies were with Fluttershy to begin with, without it, this chapter doesn't make sense, I forget to tell you that part.
