hmm this isnt bad ill keep this tracked though as a reminder a jet can break the sound barrier without flying downward rainbow dash can only break the sound barrier when flying down at a 90 degree angle so that means that a jet can fly alot faster than Rainbow dash, just a side note for realism's sake, anyway great story keep up the great work

Yea, I had to change that around a little in the first chapter. I made sure to note that Sgt.Garrick was sure they had already broken the sound barrier awhile back. I've had to look up a few things to make sure I'm not creating something TOO unrealistic in regards to the Jet. Well, as realistic as you can be ending up in Equestria that is.

150279 Actually, if you recall, RD's first sonic rainboom was not at 90 degrees, but more around 75 or 80. But the point still stands that she has to be going at a steep downwards angle to perform one, whereas some jets could break the sound barrier while moving at an upward angle.

Sure, why not? They're just test piloting it, not taking it into battle. I really didn't feel like being specific with the ranks seeing as it is a tiny part of the story.

Fortunately, the character are not quite introduced enough to make it impossible, so making Garrick a closet brony could still make sense at this point, since he could be pretending to not know anything about Equestria.

It was longer, however FiMFiction decided it didn't want to save my writing, so I salvaged as much as I could from memory...Hope you enjoy this chapter as much as the last few. Gave me a hell of a lot of trouble. Needless to say, I'm going to stop being dumb and start typing my stuff up on Google Docs first, then transfer it all over.

Whathef is correct. All pilots, irrespective of branch, are officers. Enlisted are not allowed to pilot any kind of aircraft (fixed, delta, variable-sweep wing, or rotary). . A Sergeant performing an intentional stall, just to show off?
He would be in front of a military tribunal before he even touched down for intentional endangerment and would be looking at some years in prison along with a dishonorable discharge. That and a Private (Pv2 is the appropriate abbreviation for the E-2 Private, not Pvt) mouthing off to a Sergeant? He would be put in his place so fast his head would spin. A Pv2 is fresh out of Basic, and a Sergeant has five years experience, minimum. You don't mouth off with that difference in experience level (even when it's deserved). These are the kinds of glaring errors that pull me out of the story (I'm former US Army).
