She should have just gone back. Really, it would have been embarrassing to face Ponyville again, but she should've known the moment it started snowing that there was little chance of survival. Sorry, but this wasn't really sad as much as short and confusing.
Also, the description baffles me.

Hm... Written well. But does not really feel like resolution.

Though, one has to wonder, if Twilight wouldn`t get curious enough to track Trixie down with magic. Frosen cadaver is a good object to practice... less innocent spells on. Bonus points if Trixie comes back wrong.

Thanks, and yes it's supposed to feel a bit open at the ending. I think it leaves the reader a bit more emotional when it's like that, i actually have a version in where they found her. But i don't think it played out as well as this version does.
