Enter the world of Equestria Online!
On March 25, 2012 Equestria Online went active, but after a strange worldwide power outage and to pulled its users inside. Now thousands of players populate the world. One these players, Alex, didn't expect to be here. Nor did he expect his sister to be lost in the world, or his only friend to be an unicorn, whose inexperienced mage, named Twilight.
Now the two journey the vast plains of Equestria joining a guild, fighting for thieves, looking for nights traveling to the sky, becoming royalty, and struggle to find a way to free both worlds from the bitter truth. Just that sorta thing.

Now, if it takes MORE specific plot elements from that story, word for word, post that instead. I been seeing a few people post around that story to others every time a fic like this pops up. And like another already stated, it seems to take more from Sword Online than Dot Hack.
I think this fic shows a lot of promise though there's a few minor errors that are bugging me.

You know, this is interesting, it's like Equestrian Earth, only with people trapped in the game instead of ponies playing a mmorpg.
