wow what a creepy opening. This is giving me "Little Shop of Horrors" vibe and based on the tags i've seen. This will be a lot like the Darker version of that story where the Plant wins and Equestria is doomed. Though i've been surprised by authors tell dark stories before, but right now i believe this will go to the bad ending of "Little Shop of Horrors"

I'm sort of surprised that Rainbow was dismissed as as problem earlier and kind of ignored; it made it seem there would be more to capturing her than just a well executed trap.
I love this story, especially the unique attitude of the nests. I wonder how well the nests are going to handle expanding past a small town though, it'll be fun to see.

Spike hasn't been mentioned even though both shining and twilight are featured, there has been no mention of the young 6.
Based on the conspicuous absence of spike i'd assume the author is going to avoid anything that has any possibility of being construed as foalcon.
