Math Spook

Spook does not take himself or his fanfiction seriously. You shouldn't either.

Bro, are you ok?

Me? I'm fine, thanks for asking. Her? Not at all.

Redheart should find a way to work for the Canadian Healthcare system, then she could practice her methods legally

I was disgusted with the hag's wrinkled ugliness and her sweat-slick sickly body. She was hollering shrill curses at her grandson, who was carrying her on his back and looking even redder than usual. Doubtless Big Mac was ashamed to be seen with her.

hoowee, what a perspective! one that is so alien and awful yet self-consistent

Apple Bloom looked sad, and I wanted to scoop her into my arms, snuggle her, and assure her that everything would be okay because she wouldn't have to endure her grandmother much longer.

oh that is amazing. the sheer selectiveness of the empathy is so frightening to see work and yet so reflective of how many people operate

The Apple family would remember me and know that I had done everything I could. Pearly Stitch's family had thought I did a fine job, too, and Chelsea Porcelain's family had even sent me a Hearth's Warming Eve card. Everypony knew I made Ponyville a better place.

and augh, yeah. for a medical professional to violate the trust that we put in them so horribly… one psychopathic enough could get away with so much while still appearing to do the best they could

I toured the ward like a pegasus gliding through the sunny spring air. I delivered hugs to all the foals, and their pure hearts made my soul sing! I loved them and wanted to guard them forever.

this sitting inside the same pony as those thoughts about Granny Smith is just so well done

"I'm going home tomorrow morning. Gonna strut right down Main Street without even using my walker. Maybe I'll even trot. That'll show my grandson. If he tries to bring me back here I'll fight him. I'll buck him like an apple tree. He needs to respect his elders instead of telling us what to do."

well i can see Granny Smith saying this haha

I'll smile, put my neck in the noose, and swing from the gallows cheerfully, because that will complete my work and make me my own last victim. But for now I have time enough. Every day, I make Ponyville a better place.

and oof, that self-consistency!

normally i find stories that indulge in the viewpoints of serial killers and sadists to be utterly boring and without artistic significance, with readers mistaking the thrill of the forbidden and macabre for having something to say. but this, this is good! Nurse Redheart has an internal justification to de-equinize the elderly, strengthened by the empathy and love she has for ponies. great work, and truly frightening to think about. thank you for writing!

Yes, Redheart kills old ponies, we get it. Seeing through the eyes of a serial killer presents a unique flavor of horror, but is it so much to ask for a little subtlety? I knew where this was going from the first sentence and the rest was just waiting for the Midnight Injector What Injects at Midnight to get through her day-long rant.

Sorry, but this one just did not work for me.
