Silver Spoon always listens to a mare practice her trade in the evening, this time sounds a little different. This time it feels different, she just doesn't know why.

Not an overly sad fic, just a little sad.

A pleasant story with a heart warming ending.

Octavia remembered her, she had seen her at multiple fancy parties she had played for, but this was the first time she had been close enough to see her cutie mark. It was a spoon with a little pink heart embedded in the handle. She had seen that spoon somewhere else, but she couldn’t recall where.

ooh, mysterious! and getting a feeling for where this is going

“I lost my family at a very young age. I was washed away by a river and never saw them again,” Octavia supplied.

ah yeah, i see where this is going!

Several musical instruments also hung behind glass. Numerous pieces of jewelry and cutlery adorned the cases.

that does work really great, aesthetically! it makes sense that Silver Spoon and Octavia could be related, either in the background all along or as long-lost family as in this tale. and it’s always nice to see a story about background characters like this. thank you for writing!

This doesn’t have nearly the amount of runway it needs for this kind of deep trauma and the resolution thereof, to say nothing of the buildup that went into this moment of catharsis. This is definitely a sweet concept, but it is a very poor fit for the word limit. There’s simply too much that needs to be established and ruminated upon for the story to feel satisfying, and the necessary shortcuts like hopping back and forth between Silver and Octavia’s perspectives don’t help.

Still, again, a strong base concept. Thank you for the entry.
