Everypony’s favorite alcoholic alicorn.

Nightmare Moon has been vanquished, and the beautiful, gentle Princess Luna now stands in her place. The princess of the night knows she should be thrilled that she has been freed from the prison of her own inner turmoil, but she now has another demon to face: Her beloved daughter, Circe, whose arrival in Equestria Celestia warily allows at Luna’s request.

Having been brought up on the moon, Princess Circe is beautiful, haughty, strong, manipulative, fiercely loyal to her mother, and every bit as powerful as the royal sisters. The young alicorn must cope with the culture shock of her new home in addition to the presence of her aunt Celestia, whom she despises for banishing Nightmare Moon in the first place. Circe stands firmly beside her beloved mother, but she longs for a world without Celestia. Gradually, she fuels Luna’s desire for two things: Celestia’s death, and a government in which the beauty of the night is worshipped and adored.

It doesn’t take long for the mistress of darkness and her daughter to dream of a revolution. The New Lunar Empire will soon rise if everything goes according to plan.

Nightmare Moon got treated so poorly in the show. Zapping her with rainbow lasers into changing her mind is a lazy way to end a villain, most of all because it doesn't resolve her conflict with Celestia. The reason why Luna rebelled was that she felt unappreciated and uncared for and everything stayed exactly the same after she came back from the moon. The only thing that has changed is that Luna's guilt overrode her bitterness and ambition. She could be so much more than Celestia's failure of a sister.

I am waiting with bated breath just who you are going to make her into.

THANK GOD SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME! I couldn’t have said it any better.

I think a lot of us agree with you. At the very least Nightmare Moon should have had more screen time. Her design is superior to that of either one that Luna had and seeing her discarded at the very start was a monumental waste.

another story where a pony is born on the moon.
Well time to read!

If I can ask what inspired you to write this story?

11549956
Resentment toward Celestia, if I'm being honest. She is a complete narcissist in my opinion.

11549960
A little manipulative with a strike of ego and thousand years of worshiping.
It is quite an explosive mixture.
...
And I hoped that you were inspired by Family From the Moon.

Twilight will see the errors of Celestia or will be eternally blind/servant to Celestia?

Ummm... Although I am mostly excited for Luna, I must say that Circle is in desperate need of more characterisation. She may be as brilliant as Twilight is or more, but unearthing something that not even Twilight could find in her years of studying everything she could find in Canterlot libraries would be too much of a stretch. I am reserving cautious doubt that those documents were genuine, although that means that Luna is so blind that she could not spot a forgery by her own daughter.

I like this story yeah Luna had some valid points when she wanted to take over Equestria I like to think Celestia wasn't running it right and was always pushing Luna away.

Manipulation is Celestia's main gimmick. Telling a child not to fall for it is like telling a recruiter to beat a general.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm still mad about the whole throne thing and does anyone really think that twilight was a coincidence and not planned due to her name and color as well as intelligence similar to Luna? I feel that that one adventure time song fits very well here. "Everything stays, but it's still changing."

She lasted longer than I would've.

11549960
Hatred and rivalry against Celestia. And a bit more.
