The map could really be a bother to deal with.
Take now for example. Currently the map had called Starlight to solve a friendship problem, the bad news was that it was on the other side of Equestria.
Now Starlight was gone, and if anything Twilight really misses her.
You really capture those two very well, a very wholesome relationship.

How come?

In my opinion you do. I can feel the love between them and that they both care deeply about the other.
What a nice way to start 2023 like with all your Stories I really enjoyed this one. I like the relationship between Twilight and Starlight I have to ask you thou are you going to have Starlight become an Alicorn in a future story? Look forward to furture instalments keep up the great work.
Oh yes, that's one of my favorite parts about Twilight and Starlight's bond in the show, which just carries on and often feels stronger in Twilight x Starlight stories. The mane 6 as a whole are very close, but their personalities are so varied, they tend to not have that much in common from an individual standpoint, save for a few personality traits one might share with another. Such as Rainbow and Applejack being competitive and Pinkie and Rainbow liking pranks.
But Starlight, while not identical to Twilight, is far more like her than any of the mane 6 or even Spike, so they would have a type of relatability that's unique to them (and maybe Sunset). Spike has been Twilight's rock as her little brother, but as her little brother, he's not quite her equal, although that would be the case with most if not all siblings around their age. Starlight, as time went on, felt to be Twilight's equal, giving her a niche nearly no other character has. It'd be pretty hard for them to be more equal than to be girlfriend/girlfriend, and it be cute, like it was in this story.
Gotta love sweet fluff with my second favorite ship, I honestly ship these two hella hard and idk y

Thank you. Any thoughts on the story in general?

I meant to point it out better than I did in my comment, but what 11467274 said pretty much sums up what I thought of the story, especially for a story with barely over 1,000 words.
