No? They're human. If you read the Author Note I briefly explain that the name comes from switching the letters around from the word Combat. Because they are the aggressors in the story who started the war. I just needed a name that sounded fantasy-like and that's what I came up with.
So that's why I felt like I had seen this before. Nice story.
