Likely, yes! I began watching MLP: FiM a few months ago, and I'm still only on Season 2. I intend to continue writing it until well after I have finished the series, in a somewhat episodic manner, with long series of chapters each making up their own "episode," as it were. Once he's been in Ponyville for a while, Dreamer will head back to Canterlot, for example, and that will be a whole story in and of itself!

From the gender defying behaviours hinted at throughout, I'm guessing that 'filly' is not a typographical error, here. Feel free to prove me wrong, though.

Presumably horse sandals would have straps looking somewhat like garters, wrapping around the hoof. That's what I imagined anyway.
The use of the word "filly" was an error actually, as I was at the time unaware of the difference between "filly," and "colt." Feel free to headcanon it as him being trans though! You'll also notice in other chapters that I use "colt" when I could have said "stallion." This is not an error, but instead me emphasizing Dreamer's more boyish/coltish appearance.
