If you no longer go for a gap that exists...

Apple Lauda reviews his race in Spa when he started 13th and finished 5th in the rain despite a penalty. He notices that he might have the same skills than Ayrton Senna back in the past. "Am I Senna?" Apple Lauda asks himself. Twilight heard that. "what do you mean?" Twilight asks.
"Well... Do you remember the race I started 13th and finished 5th in the rain at Spa?" Apple Lauda asks.
"yes, why do you ask me that?" Twilight said.
"I have the suspect that I had a past life..." Apple Lauda asked
"that's crazy!!!" Twilight said "there is no past life!!!" she adds.
"Ayrton Senna went from 13th to 2nd in Monaco in 1984 in a Toleman" Apple Lauda said. "I finished 5th in Spa in 2022, starting also from P13" he adds.
"that means you're a rain master!!!" Twilight cheered
"no... I think that's not coincidence..." Apple Lauda said
"but why do you think that?" Twilight asks
"because I think that I was Ayrton Senna in my past life" Apple Lauda said.
"this is nonsense!!!" Twilight shouted "maybe you're just too exhausted from all that racing" she adds.
"I don't think so" said a familiar voice. It's Starlight Glimmer
Twilight is confused. "but there's no evidence" she says

"we need to go to Ayrton Senna's grave" Starlight said. "there are some buildings in the distance" she adds.
"how do you know that?!" Twilight asks in confusion.
"she is right... There are indeed buildings and they look familiar to me" Apple Lauda said.
Twilight is shocked. "we definitely need to do some research" Twilight said.
Starlight opens a portal that brings them to Ayrton Senna's grave. The three ponies walk through it.
"I think I was here a long time ago..." Apple Lauda said.
"what does look familiar to you?" Twilight asks
"the buildings, basically the whole area" Apple Lauda answered
"interesting... But why do they look familiar to you?" Starlight asks
"I don't know but they look familiar to me" Apple Lauda answers
"okay so do you remember something else?" Twilight asks.
"I remember when I rose into the sky, seeing all of these buildings and the whole area and all the people who were here" Apple Lauda answered. "I also saw a lot of Brazilian flags in the town which is nearby" he adds
"I'm truly shocked" Twilight admits. "there is a past life"

"oh I remember when I was in Monaco when I crashed into the wall, and I was walking towards the Marshalls" Apple Lauda said "it was an awful feeling getting a DNF on a track I probably dominated"
"when you saw the Brazilian flag for the first time, what did you think about it" Starlight asks.
"Well... The colours looked familiar to me as well... and they still do" Apple Lauda said
"well perhaps we should analyze your Spa race" Twilight suggests
"Good idea" Starlight responded

Apple Lauda, Twilight and Starlight went back to Equestria and looked at Apple Lauda's race at Spa. "so as you can see, I'm in 13th... Now pay special attention to the first corner" Apple Lauda said
When Apple Lauda went into turn 1, he looks for a gap that exists and goes for it, gaining 4 positions in one corner.
"okay that's unreal" Twilight said
Then through Eau Rouge and Raidillion but Apple Lauda gets a penalty for violating the track limits but he gains two more positions by a driving error of an opponent and having the higher exit speed out of Raidillion. Apple Lauda already gained six positions. "you're not a race driver, you're literally a racing beast" Starlight said with a cheerful voice
At the end of lap 1, Apple Lauda executes a Divebomb, gaining another position

In lap two, Apple Lauda loses a position due to his track limit penalty but he will keep up with the opponent until the opponent spins, giving him P6 back and he starts to hunt down the Porsche which is in front of him.
"that's... I have no words..." Twilight said in shock
"and they say I only can drive when it's dry..." Apple Lauda said. "seriously, I know that I have to drive in the rain as well in order to be a good driver" he adds

exactly one lap later, the Porsche in P5 spins out which gives Apple Lauda the 5th place. A few laps later, he gets chased by another Porsche but Apple Lauda defends like a Maniac and the Porsche driver makes an error which increases the gap between Apple Lauda and the Porsche a lot. 6th place is far out of range and Apple Lauda decides to not push because it's an unnecessary risk to throw his 5th place away. He keeps that position until the end of the race

"there's no way you just gained 8 positions in that race!!!" Twilight said in shock.
"or when I finished second in the Caterham at the Hockenheimring" Apple Lauda said
"I started either from P13 or P14 I can't remember that exactly to be honest. And that was the moment I didn't realized what I had done there" he adds.
"okay that's completely crazy" Starlight said. "but they were AI weren't they?" Starlight asks
"yes but on maximum difficulty" Apple Lauda answered. "it was really tough to be honest and to achieve this, I had to Divebomb into the hairpin. Also I got attacked by a Lotus which had DRS on me and I no active DRS because I was out of the DRS range of 1 second but I went into hard defense" Apple Lauda explains

"I can't believe this..." Twilight said in shock. "I think you actually had a past life"
"what did I tell you?" Starlight said with a smirk on her face.
"see? My suspect was right. Twilight I'm not crazy at all. I just had a suspect and we found out that it's probably true..." Apple Lauda said. "but am I truly Ayrton Senna? was I Ayrton Senna in the past?"
"no matter if you were Ayrton Senna in your past life or not... For us, you were Ayrton Senna in your past life" Twilight said with a smile

Author's Note:

This Story is based on how I feel. When my father watched me racing in GT Sport, he noticed that my driving style is similar to Ayrton Senna's driving style. This gave me the suspect if I was Ayrton Senna in my past life or not

I know it sounds crazy but some people believe that a life after death exists and I'm one of those people

Well real world racing is totally different than a sim racing game...

But my father told me that my driving style is as aggressive as Senna's but that doesn't mean that I'm truly Ayrton Senna

Hello! Have a review. Now, the fact that I gave it a negative review of course does not mean I think it's worthless. For example, the real-life references being accurate was something I appreciated. (I'm old enough to have been an F1 fan in the 1980s.) But in all honesty, this reads like the self-insert-ness was the first priority with actually writing a nuanced story definitely behind it on the grid.
